Lovely spot to camp with clean amenities. The staff were kind and helpful. The surroundings were beautiful and we enjoyed a hike to the falls. Good location for the Crocodile park.

Loved our stay again at this camp site. Dean and the team make an award winning effort with their hospitality, knowledge of the surrounding area and things to do, keeping the upkeep of the site and facilities.
We'll be back again and again without a shadow of a doubt :)

Loved Hartley's Creek. Dean was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great spot over looking the creek and close to the deck which looks out over the creek.
The facilities were clean and the grounds really well looked after.
Wangetti Beach was close and a great place to walk along at low tide.
We really enjoyed our stay.

It was a nice well setup campsite very near the creek. Our host was very freindly and kindly introduced us to the local Croc Noodle. Best campsite bathroom we've had the pleasure of using. And an ideal spot after a day at Hartlys Crocadile Adventure.

We were given a beautiful spot located with a view of the creek. There was lots of space and the amenities were nice. Everyone was friendly and helpful. A highlight for our daughter was being able to see the juvenile crocodile.

Very beautiful spot near the creek. Had our own deck & bbq area which was nice & peaceful. Clean amenities & laundry facilities. Overall we were very happy with our stay & would recommend it to others

Lovely spot between Cairns and Port Douglas. Dean was very hospitable and the amenities were fantastic! So much to see in the area with hartleys crocodile literally 400m up 5he road!

We stayed one night in a motorhome, all facilities were clean and tidy. The shower and toilets were a great addition to having power, water and a lovely creek. Quiet little spot in a good location.

Hartleys Creek Retreat
Our stay with Dean was excellent.
Together with his mother, he took great care of us. The campground was well equipped, and we didn’t miss anything. The shared facilities were clean and well maintained.
The campground is in an attractive location, not far from Cairns, with quick access to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures.

Fantastic, beautiful and peaceful location. We were welcomed by friendly and helpful host despite our late arrival. Wish we could have spent more time here. We loved our day at the nearby croc farm.

The site host welcomed us as good as possible.
The site was near by Hartleys crocodile adventure. Although it was possible to walk to it, i would not recommending that. Especially not to a family with small kids. There is no walkway. So one has to walk next to the highway.
The site itself has everything you require. Nonetheless in the nearby creek there live wild crocodiles (we saw one 50m from the camp ground). In turn it felt a bit unsecure to let the kids free play..
Site hosts were really friendly and offered support. I truly recommend engaging with them. Thank you for your great support Dean and Chris!

Firstly may I say we enjoyed our stay, we had a great site overlooking the creek. Amenities were good and looked as if they had been recently renovated. However, I could not call this a "Retreat" as I think it is somewhat misleading. The camp ground is mainly permanent residents living in a mixture of old caravans, old buses and unusual cabins. There was also a fair amount of traffic noise as it's close to the Captain Cook Highway. We only met Dean once on arrival and he was friendly and helpful. Would we stay again? Possibly

Too much highway noise, would recommend people are not directed to
Camp on the lawn near the gazebo as was wet, muddy and boggy in many areas of the grass. Beach is difficult to access unless you drive. Scary to walk there with dogs on busy highway. Host has clearly done a lot of work. Didn’t actually meet dean. Weren’t sure how to access water as taps were over 20m away as was power so our extension cord ran across the whole grassed area. Lucky we had water in our tanks. I also thought $60 per night was overpriced compared to other camps we have stayed at. Nice ablution block and good to have access to washing machine and dryer.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hartleys Creek. Our site was super spacious and overlooked a very tranquil creek. We loved the large fire pit and enjoyed looking for Noodles, the resident croc 🐊 Facilities were fantastic, as was the host. So much work has gone into this property and we would definitely come back.

Dean and his family were amazing at looking after us and his place was perfect, able to have a fire near the creek and hike to the waterfall or go chill at the beach it was all so close !! the power and water hook up was easy and plenty of room for the kids to explore. Will be back !!

We stayed two nights here and had a wonderful time. Dean was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms always perfectly clean. Our site was very spacious and with a beautiful view at the river. We even got to see the friendly crocodile that lives there in the water. We definitely recommend watching the sunrise from Wangetti beach just a short walk away and the Crocodile adventure park Dean gave a discount voucher for. Thanks again!

Brilliant 6 night stay in this quiet Ares, where the stars at night are amazing :) Quick walk to the beach also, loved this camp. Dean and his Mum were amazing hosts, made us feel so welcome.
