Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We have 4 private campsites located near a dam for your enjoyment.  Relax, unwind and listen to nature. There is the good mix of shade provided by trees as well as open sunny areas. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own toilet, shower, and water. (There are no facilities on site) Large open area for outdoor activities. Pets welcome however must remain on leash at all times. Not to chase horses or wildlife.  *Please notify us if bringing a dog*  Please note, we are an active hobby farm and as such you may hear the tractor etc in the distance as we do odd jobs around the farm. Please do not feed the horses as some have strict dietary requirements. Please leave the campsite as you found it for the next camper. Fires permitted in fire-rings provided or in an above ground firepit. Check for local fire ban restrictions first. Free firewood to collect and use in firepit provided. No parties or large gatherings, but happy for small family groups. Perfect location for a quick weekend getaway from the city. Only 40 minutes from Brisbane and a short distance off the Warrego Highway.   Things to do - Fishing  - Kayak or Swimming in the dam is ok, please check in the water for depth and sticks - The creek is seasonal, only flowing after good rain. It will dry up in some conditions.  - Follow the walking trails for bush walks to spot the wallabies, kangaroos and some beautiful birdlife. - Kids can ride their bicycles along the trails. - Ewenique hobby farm is located roughly 500m up the road, great animal farm for kids to enjoy.  - Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports

This is a large open grassy area on the bank of a dam, perfect for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Ideal for large caravans or setups. There is a firepit for campfires and guests are welcome to collect firewood off the ground. Guests must be self contained as there are no facilities on site. Price per night includes up to 4 people.

Kookaburra camp is a small site situated on the wall of the dam and overlooks the dam. Perfect place for swimming, kayaking or fishing. Access is via forest corridor over the dam wall. Due to the limited access over dam wall site is ONLY suitable for high clearance vehicles or 4x4. Not suitable for low profile vehicles. Rooftop tent setup or ground tent etc.

Wallaby camp is a smaller site, situated on the edge of a seasonal creek. The site has a flat area and then slopes down towards the creek. The site is high and dry. This site is best for privacy, nature views and sounds and is suited to a tent setup, camper trailer or small offroad caravan.

This is a large, flat, open grassy area. It is our most secluded and private site, surrounded by bush and nature. Suitable for larger groups. Ideal for camper trailers, tents or rooftop tents, (No caravans). Access is limited through a small forest corridor and over a dam wall. High clearance vehicle or 4x4 vehicles recommend. There is a firepit for campfires and guests are welcome to collect firewood off the ground or allocated firewood area. Guests must be self-contained (own toilet/shower) as there are no facilities on site.

The spot was perfect and the other camping spots looked good too. I loved being able to let my dog swim in the dam. The hosts were friendly and helpful too. I recommend!

We shifted from the Wallaby site (tucked away nicely) to this one for our 2nd night & they both have their perks! This one is right by the dam with limited tree cover but provides the ability to see/prepare for passerbys (for those traveling solo &/or with Dogs) & swim without needing to leave camp! We ducked out to the vacant camp site (the possum site?) to have our post-swim Zoomies hehe Love the trails to keep pups fulfilled!! Didn't feel like we would bump into anyone! 👌✨ Camp area is behind the Horse yards etc at the back of the property, so it's safe & quiet. Love this space!

A beautiful dam & walking trails! My Dogs & I loved the space of this site & the ample shade to be found while enjoying it! We loved watching the horses & the fact that I can see ahead on the trails in case of other trail users. We'll be back!

We enjoyed our stay 'Kangaroo Site' in our caravan. The view overlooking the dam was just lovely. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. We will come back in the winter so we can enjoy the campfire. Thank you for being lovely hosts.

A great base for getting around Ipswich/Lockyer Valley. Hosts friendly and accommodating. Loved having chooks visit us everyday. Because of weather it was dry and hot.

I absolutely loved my stay I ended up staying at the kookaburra camp to be next to the dam. The grounds are very well kept And the fire pit was positioned perfectly Falling asleep to the symphony of frogs was wonderful Thanks Roxanne

A nice short trip from ours to theirs. Very friendly helpful hosts. Their sites are not on top of each other and not visible to all either. There is a great pile of firewood for use if fire ban stars align, unfortunately not for us. Kept looking at the pile think8ng, if only. I think anybody would enjoy a stay here.

Close to Brisbane, host introduced once we had settled in. The site was private and would easily fit 3 vehicles. The dam looks to be ideal for swimming just with the dry spell we have been having she was a little shallow. Plenty of wildlife. When you get your directions to the site be mindful these are GPS coordinates to the camp site - best to use the property address or Google will send you to the wrong turn off. We are on Telstra and had 1 bar. It was fine but if you plan on streaming you’ll need Starlink or similar. The road noise was a little full on at night with everything being so quiet. During the day we hardly noticed it.

We had a fantastic time at Kangaroo campsite! Peaceful bush setting, spacious and well-maintained grounds. Great for families or groups. Loved being surrounded by nature and only a short drive from Brisbane. Highly recommend!

Great spot, close to Brisbane and good for a quick getaway. Level large sites well maintained. Roxanne is a great host very helpful. Directions to the camp are accurate and easy. On the list.

Thank you Roxanne for letting us change our camp spot to Kookaburra. Dogs and I had a great time! Loved seeing the kangaroos, ducks, birds and horses. Highly recommended and hope to be back soon.

We had a lovely time camping at the Wallaby site. It was very well laid out and Roxanne was so lovely to communicate with. Our son enjoyed fishing and collecting firewood (it was a little too cool for swimming). We would recommend staying here to anyone. Bonus points for a random night RAAF big bird flying overhead. It was so cool!

We and our 2 pooches had a great time here. The site is beautifully kept and the view Devine. Watching the kangaroos and other wildlife was soothing to our souls. Highly recommend!! Thank you Roxanne for a wonderful stay❤️

What a lovely relaxing little spot. We had a great weekend stay, loved seeing the Kangaroos, birds and the horses too. Awesome that there is kayaks to use in the dam too! Highly recommend this spot. Thanks so much for having us on your property!
