Grasstree Ridge is our little slice of heaven; 150 luscious acres of tropical bushland, just off the coastline of Bloomsbury, QLD. Our convenient location puts you one hour north of Mackay, forty-five minutes south of Airlie Beach, or head inland to Finch Hatton, fifty-five minutes. Effectively, we are in the middle of some gorgeous spots & popular tourists attractions! ⛱️ 🏞️ We have fresh water creeks a short drive from the property to cool off in, just ask us for directions to them during your stay! Lucky for us, Bredl's Wild Life farm is just around the corner! (12km) Take a selfie with a wombat, cuddle a koala, or brave holding some freaky reptiles-plus much more! 🐨 And for the thrill-seeking adventurists, Airlie Beach Skydiving is only twenty-five minutes from the property, are you brave enough? 😉 If that's not you, and you're just looking for a taste of the quiet life, then bring the boat and your fishing gear, and get ready to catch some tasty reef fish! The Midge Point boat ramp is only a 15 minute drive from the property. However you choose to spend your day, you'll be happy to know that also in the beachside town of Midge Point, you'll find the Point tavern, for delicious dinner and cold beers! And for only a five minute drive, you'll find the 24hr BP service station, with a bottle shop open 10am-8pm. They also provide hot showers! The property is roamed by many farm and wild animals! Keep an eye out for the gorgeous wildlife amongst the property, as you may be lucky enough to see an echidna or a dear! We have domesticated donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, birds etc-please note our animals are free range so please ensure you secure your food and belongings. And don't worry, they're all very friendly and love a pet! 🐷🫏 We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful oasis. 🍄✨

Grand Opening - day pass

Help us to celebrate the Grand Opening of our hipcamp sites this August 30th 🙂 What we will provide: - the band - the awesome custom built fire-pits - the firewood - the prizes for the cook-off - the space for you to relax and enjoy - we only have ONE shower on this campsite so if you don't want to wait, maybe bring your own... - there will be several pit toilets so hopefully no lines there! - we run on bore water so please bring your own drinking water 🙏 What you will need to provide - BYO food and drinks (this is basically a camping trip where we are providing some extra entertainment) - your own accommodation (however I do have a couple of brand new smaller tents I could loan out for a small fee if required) - and of course your awesome mates! As this is our first little camping shindig, we are planning on keeping it quite small @50-60 people so spots will fill up fast with all the interest we have! There's only space for around 20 campovens so book a space for your oven too when you book. Please, when booking your site only book for the people staying in your camper/tent/caravan so we can ensure everyone has their own space. For those coming in on a day pass: - Nat will be running her little bus from midge point through Bloomsbury for a fee ...stops and times TBA - we will have a sausage sizzle in the afternoon if you don't want to drag in all your cooking stuff

Grasstree Groove

Grasstree Groove is nestled amongst the hills of our property, it offers a large secluded campsite, allowing you to turn up the speakers a little more than at our other sites! It includes a camp kitchen (BYO burner), a drop toilet, and a cold shower. We also have shelter to keep your music gear in. The site would comfortably fit 30 people, but we can cater to larger groups on request. Minimum of 10 people at this site. This site is only available for one group at a time, so you and your crew don’t have to worry about sharing the space with anyone else. We are a leave no trace campsite! If there is a reason you can’t take your rubbish with you, please let us know and we can arrange rubbish removal. We have a range of additional services that you can add to your stay, ranging from lighting and music packages, to party set-up and pack-down, to tent, BBQ and generator hire + more! We are new hosts and we want to make your camping experience as fun and easy as possible. Just reach out to tailor a package to you! Or just enjoy Grasstree Groove with your own setup!

Alex and Mel were more than accommodating and made us feel very welcome as it was very comfortable and we will be back again - as it is quite a new camp open probably just a few more signs but it looks fabulous - Thankuou 🚌 !

Great spot, for a couple of nights stay close to Airlie Beach, friendly host. Authentic Aussie bush camp, with a convenient service station just down the road.

Loved staying at alex’s farm, looked like he had built some custom fire pits which were made to good use, and he was super helpful, sorting us out with some firewood when we were in need. Was great seeing the donkeys aswell, alex went out of his way to bring down one of his donkeys, was a real treat.

Lovely quiet spot, we were watched by a Forest Kingfisher and 3 very cute donkeys. Despite Hip camps not notifying the hosts of our booking they were welcoming and happy to have us.
