This place is amazing - shallow, flowing creek perfect for small children. Isolated and yet so close to Cairns. This place is a hidden gem!! Good signage across the property too.

Kanini’s is a secluded gem that offers the perfect escape into nature. With very few people around, it feels like you have the entire place to yourself, providing a peaceful and quiet environment ideal for disconnecting. The surrounding forest is lush and serene, with stunning views. It’s a great spot to relax and unwind, surrounded by beautiful, unspoiled nature.
One of the standout features of this campsite is the refreshing creek near by ( Emerald Creek) . After a day of hiking or exploring, there’s nothing better than taking a dip in the cool, crystal-clear water. Whether you prefer wading in shallow areas or floating in deeper spots, the creek offers the perfect way to cool off and enjoy the outdoors. If you’re looking for a tranquil, nature-filled camping experience, Kanjini’s is an excellent spot.

What a magical place to stay. The directions and signage throughout that property was very helpful. The sunset and sunrise were fantastic and the view is on spectacular. A very peaceful spot to recharge and we will be back.

A beautiful little spot, easy to get to. Very private and peaceful. Probably not great for kids as the lagoon is not really suitable for swimming or accessible. Toilet is rustic, BYO water, no shower available. Wallabies visited the lagoon throughout our 4 days there. Only 15min into Mareeba.

We loved camp site 5. There was good space for us all to spread out over two main sites that linked nicely to the cool clear waters of Emerald Creek with great shade throughout all of the common areas. We drove in with both 4x4 and all wheel drives and the tracks were very reasonable to navigate, there was even a small creek crossing which was great fun for the kids.
The creek was about waist deep in the deepest section and flowing quite fast in some areas. It was suitable for a medium kayak and kids had a blast.
We will be back!

The directions were spot on. The camp-site was fabulous for us, with a beautiful view & wondeful breeze. The location to Emerald Falls was easy access with a 4wd (we didnt need 4wd). Would we go back?? Absolutely YES. We didn't need to use our loo, as every site has a composting toilet & they dont stink! ...happy days!! Obviously the hosts enforce the "what you bring with you, you take home with you". The sites was spotless.

Not suitable for any small caravan or trailer...no safe turning area...too long a grass area..bush fire hazzard and vermin hazzard..billabong beautiful..that,s all it,s got going for it..left the first night, went elsewhere for the remaining nights....much better sites up the road at Mareeba Bush Camps and cheaper with water and flushing toilets $15 per couple per night.

What a magical place to spend a weekend! (Next time we hope to stay even longer)
Directions provided were spot on and easy to follow, the site was amazing with the most wonderful view from right next to the fire pit.
The big lake is gorgeous although we only stopped passed it briefly for a look, definitely taking the kayaks next time to explore more.
Stunning wild flowers and surrounds! Cannot wait for our next stay

Peaceful, scenic and rejuvenating. My wife and I enjoyed the beautiful surrounds. A chorus of birds greeted us every morning as we awoke. Afternoons always provided soothing, cool breezes. Evenings gave ample time to soak up the warmth of a campfire or gaze upward at the magnificent star-studded heavens.

It was the most amazing stay, the camp site was sucluded and private. We are booked to go back if the lock down in cairns isn't extended. Highly recommend if you are locking for a quite stay with out being camped out by others.

Nice peaceful spot, not far from Cairns. Having a 4WD was great as you could explore the creek further up. The lake day area was beautiful and a nice spot for a swim/picnic. Lots of kindling, but worth bringing firewood for an extended stay.

Outstanding location.Very private but close to the lake for daytime swimming. Lots of flora and fauna around. Recommend a hike up Emerald Falls creek. Thanks guys.

Site 5 was smaller then the pictures showed. We stayed on the upper level as easier to get in and out of. Lower level required very good reversing skills, true to the write up.
Very nice creek to relax in. Great to be away from others, very private. Would recommend if off the grid is what you want.
