The best views. 360 degrees. Loved the drive there via Esk-Crowsnest and straightaway fell in love with the spot. A constant gentle breeze. No flies ants mozzies. My two little dogs loved roaming free and the shade of the trees. Would definitely love to come back.

My second time camping at this beautiful scenic spot. Have now camped during the winter and summer, if camping during the winter, ensure to bring clothes suitable as it does get chilly.
At night there is no light pollution so you can see a ton of stars and even the milky way. You might even get some friendly farm visitors during your stay.

We really loved our stay. It had awesome views and a perfect breeze. We explored the property's roads on our bikes, which was fun. Naomi is an excellent communicator and there was no problems at all with directions. We would come again for a weekend getaway.

Needs more signage was unable to find the spot that we booked. We followed google maps and still could not find it.

I will start by clarifying that the owner was very good about it all, and I wouldn’t fault her in attempting to resolve the situation.
We arrived very late, and though the host gave instructions on how to get there, google maps still lead us astray, so it proved quite difficult to get too. With lots of dirt roads, it WAS 2WD friendly, but still very rough for a 2WD, my wheel were beginning to loose grip and slide on the up hills toward the camp site. That’s with Mazda cx3 + light camper trailer.
Once we arrived it was around 12 and there were 2 other campers at the site and no space for us to set up. There was some brief information on the camp site booking about a private group booking and to not book if you’re not part of the group. - however - it stated a different month and wasn’t visible unless you go right into the camp site details (personally, I look at the pictures and the main info provided in the summary). Just a big miscommunication there, if you book just make sure to fully read the descriptions of each individual site.
Host was good about it, offering other sites, however they seemed unsuitable to set up at (not flat, and sharp sticks).
She refunded us quickly and we decided to just leave because we were just so tired and we didn’t want to put the car through more.
I believe it was her neighbours - harassing us with a pack of hunting dogs and a knife thinking we stole a cow.. stopping us twice, followed us and blocked the road with their car searching our stuff

We stayed at Camp 1 for the king’s birthday weekend Oct 25 and it was stunning! We enjoyed the beautiful views on the mountain top and the abundance of firewood around the place which could be accessed with the right tools. Naomi was kind enough to coordinate our group booking and keep us together without any extra unknowns on the same site. The longhorns were beautiful to see and there were additional places to visit, driving only 20-40mins away. Great spot although a little windy… but to be expected on top of a mountain. There aren’t many trees on the top so take shade for the warm sunny days!

This campsite is absolutely incredible. The views are some of the best I’ve ever experienced – whether it’s sunrise or sunset, every moment feels picture-perfect. The atmosphere is so peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect escape from busy life. Everything is well kept and the whole place has such a relaxed, welcoming feel. If you’re looking for somewhere to switch off, take in breathtaking scenery, and truly enjoy the outdoors, this spot is unbeatable. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We booked Camp 1 for a birthday weekend and cannot fault our stay! When we camp, we want to do so away from the maddening crowds, immersed in nature, the country side. This spot was that! We've all agreed, this is now one of our regular picks. We got to hang out with long horns, horses and birdlife. The dogs loved being able to run around instead of being on leash. If there were other campers we didnt know! We all look forward to heading back and exploring more! Naomi was very helpful and a breeze to communicate with.

We had a great stay at campsite 3. A fantastic spot on the ridge overlooking rolling hills. It was quiet and secluded where we couldn't hear the other campsites.

Gorgeous property. Loved the drive in and the site had amazing mountain views. Horses and cattle roaming, lots of birds, stargazing was insane!! Overall, relaxing and will 100% be back!

We spent a wonderful 4 days camped in our 22' caravan at site 2. The Property is vast with very nice views from all the hill tops. Access into the site was a breeze with well maintained gravel roads, and good clear instruction from Naomi. We went exploring both on foot and in our 4WD. There were lots of dams for our dogs to go swimming in but the water was far to cold for us humans at this time of year. If your looking for a secluded, private, true off-grid bush camp, then we highly recommend Dontoria Downs.
As a side note, we came in and left via Blackbutt to the North. The unsealed public road had just been touched up and was in fantastic condition. Currently accessible by just about any vehicle (Inc. 2wd). Having said that, it is truly a "dry weather only" road, as the decent/assent to cross Emu Creek is VERY steep on both sides of the valley. We had no issue towing our 3tonne off road 22' van through there with our 4WD Hilux in 1st gear low range for the decents. If you are towing a large/heavy camper or van and are inexperienced or not confident driving very steep gravel roads then we'd recommend you come in from Crows Nest end.

Well.spaced camp sites , feels your group aee.the only people there.
Naomi is very helpful we found she answered texts almost immediately and happily accommodated a camp site.change.tomprotect us from the weather. Large property lots to explore. Other people working on the property also very friendly and helpful

Awsome property, very impressive cattle and great views. Excellent if you need to get away and hear only sounds of nature! We came down from Blackbutt with a full size caravan(off road), and there was some narly bits which you wouldn't want to attempt in the wet at all. Really good experience, hope we can make it back one day.

Love this spot on top of the world no one as far as they eye could see.
But I would say you do need a 4x4 the 14ks of dirt road can be a little daunting but it was also in really good condition. We have an old 18ft pop top caravan not built for off road but it handled it well just lower the tyre pressure a little and take it slow.

What a fabulous camp and looking forward to our next camp
The lovely host Naomi was there to greet us and took us to the camping spots and there were many to choose from.
It’s just a 40 minute drive to Crows Nest and the local pub had nice meals
