Unfortunately not what we expected. Thinking there would be a max of 20 sites, spacious camps and without everyone on top of each other. Except this is exactly what it was like. Driving through it was a bit Barton to see all the trees leading up to the camp cut down and stacked in piles. Neighbours meters away from you, I'm not sure if there was 3-4 people/groups per site but certainly felt like a much bigger crow then 20 sites 9 of which were allegedly not booked. Live band blarring through the evening from the stage near the river (good music though) and people partying on well past the curfew rules playing Bluetooth speakers and general carrying on until after midnight with no enforcement of the rules by the property operators. Paid for firewood but there was a fire ban, no refund offered and nothing said until I enquired. We booked 2 nights, left after 1. Real shame as the description and property has so much promise and we don't up from Brisbane specifically for this.

Music was great and host is friendly and helpful. Booking an exact campsite would have been more ideal - as we were the last of our group to arrive and there was no clear area left for caravan. Ended parking along roadway in front of other two vans- worked well but not ideal. Thank you for a good weekend.

Great space for camping. Lotsof good flat grassed for our setup. Even though there were lots of people we didn't feel on top of each other or other campers. Facilities are great. Nice hot showers and camp kitchen. The band were fabulous on the Saturday night. Bushie was available for any questions. Great place to stay for the long weekend.

It help great significance to me as my dad when he was a kid with my grandparents went there. I got to take my kids to experience an amazing time! Hands down 10/10

The grounds are well kept with mowed soft grass, perfect for bare foot. We had the place almost to ourselves mid week in winter. Great for fishing if you have a small boat. There is a public ramp nearby. Small tinny or kayaks from the shore at high tide. Not much beach and muddy at low tide. There is a cool little hut that becomes a bar and a stage for bands etc. There is a list of events all year around. But the few days we were there was very quiet. Toilet was clean. Firewood is quality and burned well. We were happy with our stay and would recommend.

Overall experience wasn't great we booked for 2 nights left after 1 .. amenities leave alot to be desired . 1 shower for the whole camp and we couldn't even use it due to it not working even after paying the extra for hot showers . The beach front is actually a mangrove swamp . its listed as being family friendly but it's really not . We won't be going back here . Definitely better options elsewhere for the same price or cheaper .

Had quite afew people camped around the area but honestly it didn't feel crowded at all. Nice big area to camp at. The bar was awesome and so much better than expected. Price for a beer was cheaper than a schooner at the pub! Bushy brought the wood straight to my camp and was a awesome fella. Live music was great. Will definitely be coming back with mates to enjoy.

Lovely spot right on the water. Toilets and shower are good. Road in is fine with 2wd. Local store at Buxton is well stocked and only a short drive. If you take a boat the local boat ramp is only 10 mins away.

Great spot Danny and the crew dona tremendous job to create a really great location, the bar and live music was a real upshot not to mention the amenities, swimming would be ideal water's edge a bit tricky.

Cleaned up on mud crabs here but fish not on the bite. Like other reviewers the camp spots were very close together and more campers than the advertised 20. You can definitely see and hear others around you. The staff were friendly upon arrival and yes the road in is a goats track but that’s part of the trip. I appreciated the fact they had a food truck there and a bar selling ice, beer and bait. I honestly had the BEST brisket there ever. They know their smoked meat. They have events like blues festival and flathead comp. I’d really like to go back outside of the events because I could imagine how busy and crammed in it would be. Facilities are basic and told that we could not fill up a 20 litre bucket of water, only about 2 litres would be acceptable. Had to go to the boat ramp in Buxton to get water to refill.

Nice to have amenities and bar, no one was overly loud. Was expecting abit more space between campers but being there over new years it is expected to be busy, having flushable toilets was a great treat but i thought the showers would’ve been free since it was a bit more of an expensive site per night. Regardless i really enjoyed the trip and enjoyed being by the scenery aswell.

Great spot, flat land with a nice view. Great place to bring friends & family for a weekend. Dog friendly & good for fishing. There’s a bar & they put on a decent feed. We had a great time with 5 friends even with rain. Our only complaint is other campers who left their rubbish & campsite a mess when leaving! Thanks for having us😊

This camp is for fishing only definitely not family orientated.
Facilities are very basic, pay for hot showers but not allowed to shower before 8am
Whole camp ground was water logged, not suitable for camping
Booked Thursday to Sunday but left on Friday morning

Great camp spot, and doggy friendly. nice and quiet, great fire pits, bring lots of midjy repellent and coils. The owners are friendly with a warm welcome. Toilets are nice and clean, shower also. Great camping views of the river and shady camp spots. Camp grounds are nice and clean. Drinking water is available at the drinks shed. Boat ramp nearby or you can drop your boat in at the camp but recommend you have a 4x4 to do so. Drive into camp is a bit rough but you can get your caravan or camper in, just need to take it easy. Will definitely come back, lots of wildlife to enjoy also.

Lyalls Lair was a beautiful spot right on the Burrum River. We had plenty of room and it was not too crowded. We bought a packet of firewood for the campfire, got plenty for our money. This spot was very peaceful with a nice water view.

Amazing long weekend spent at Buxton Bush Camp. We had a big group and a few dogs so we were given a large area spaced out, even on a busy weekend!
Lovely accommodating hosts, great area right on the water. Entertainment and food was next level!
