Childers Nature Camp is an award winning nature based eco friendly campground, with a focus on getting back to nature preserving flora and fauna now and into the future. Our campground is 43 acres nestled in light bush just off the highway 6 minutes from town with Woolworths and IGA 30min to Woodgate beach, 45min from Bundaberg or Hervey Bay with access to local shops, wineries, zoos and a whole lot more. We are big on supporting events and businesses in the Bundy region we have large camp sites, caravan / motorhome sites, nature walks by the semi rainforest creek, movie nights, kids discos, live bands, bike tracks, club group activities and several well stocked dams with Barra, silver perch and yellow belly for the keen anglers (catch and release), or try your luck at catching a feed of yabbies. And yes we are pet friendly. We have an abundance of wildlife and a bird watchers paradise. We are passionate in what we do and want to contribute to prevention of climate change. We have planted 800 native trees at the camp to date. We are off grid solar and recycle most of our waste at our on site recycling station. Come stay with us kick back around the fire and enjoy nature at its finest. Look up childers nature camp or even pop by for a look. We will be happy to have you see ya at the camp. Note: we are not a nudist camp.

Fishing the Lake camp site …
This camp is a beautifully rustic, peaceful bush camp, with ponds that light up at night with solar lights. It has a large kitchen and undercover area with tables and chairs to host personal events and more. The kookaburras are quite cheeky too. This camp is nice and quiet and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Childers Nature Camp was a wonderful place to stay for a few days to explore the area of Childers, Woodgate, Burrum Heads and just to chill around the property. There was so much space, camp kitchen and portable toilets and shower. Fires available and plenty of fire wood. Will be back

A beautiful and spacious site in the bush. Lovely nature walks with an abundance of birds, rooms and even a resident Echidna. Great commitment to the environment through recycling and bush management. Will be back for sure

Lovely and peaceful camped by the lake. Facilities were immaculate and great hosts. Close to Childers and the local attractions. Very relaxing couple of days, we'll be back.

Spectacular bush camp

We totally fell in love with this hip camp. So quiet and peaceful. We could have a campfire, go bushwalking, spot amazing bird life., cook in a beautifullly appointed camp kitchen. There were hot showers and portaloos strategically placed around the 45 acres. The little shop had everything from tinned food to spare Anderson plugs (which Matt installed for us). We haven’t stopped talking about it since we left. Matt is the nicest friendliest guy. We will 100 percent be back.

It’s a credit to Matt and Reens to have this campsite in the condition it’s in, plenty of space , ample toilets and showers, which are always cleaned and tidy. Fire pits and would available which is replenished each day, very nice family we hope they do well in this new venture. We will be back

Bottom camp site…
We had a lovely, peaceful stay at bottom area 3. Huge, flat, private site of lovely green grass. Plenty of shade. We had our own portaloo toilet , which was clean and well looked after. We had a tap at the site for non potable water but very useful for washing hands and dishes. Shower was a walk up the hill, but was very well set up. Hot water was a treat! Plenty of bins at our site. Matt and Reen were lovely, friendly hosts who looked after us, bringing us fire wood and fire pit and letting us know there was a movie night. And Matt saved the day when we broke our fridge connection. The whole property is stunning, and very close to Childers. Fishing in the dam was fun. Our kids and dog had a great time adventuring. We will be back!
