Auravale

Hosted by Tony · Bloomfield, Queensland

A family-owned property of 100 hectares set in tropical rainforest. Previously used as an airstrip, for cattle grazing, logging and fruit growing, we have allowed much of the property to regenerate with native forest species while maintaining a few hectares of orchards, gardens and cleared areas. Being adjacent to the Cedar Bay NP, there is access to World Heritage-listed lowland rainforest, freshwater swimming holes and a hiking track to the coast. The area is rich in wildlife including cassowaries and tree-kangaroos and is a great spot for bird-watching. This property suits more adventurous campers. Access is by a 2km, 4WD drive track that is pretty rough and narrow with rocky creek crossings and steep hills and is not suitable for caravans or large trailers. Off road campers only. - No amenities so campers must bring their own and leave no trace - Drinking water available - No mobile reception, landline available for emergencies - Family friendly - Dogs and pets not permitted - Campfires permitted, you'd need to BYO wood we only have moist rainforest timber
