This property is located in one of the most spectacular areas on the Clyde River, with fantastic river frontage. The land is uniquely located between Pigeon House, Byangee Walls, and The Castle and The Budawang Wilderness Area, so makes a fantastic basecamp for those wanting to explore this beautiful part of the Morton National Park. The property is ideal for those keen on paddling, fishing, walking, listening to the many bird species, or simply absorbing the beautiful energy of this natural retreat. Please be advised that it is approximately 45mins to an hour to the entrance of the access rd, from either Milton, the beginning of Wheelbarrow rd or Monkey Mountain rd. It is also roughly the same coming via Western Distributor from Kings Highway Once on these roads a vast part of your drive will be on dirt, and may be a little testing in wet weather, however you will discover some much natural beauty when you arrive at your destination Please also note that there is no reception in this area, the closest place for phone reception is at Pigeon House Mountain. In the event of any emergency the caretaker does have STARLINK to assist with contacting medical authorities or family.

The Blue Mahogany site is named after a very old tree that has had it's crown snapped off a long time ago. Blue Mahogany is one of our more secluded sites, being set a level lower than most sites. The site looks down at the river and up at Byangee Walls with plenty of space to set up camp and light your fire and enjoy a relaxing beverage.

The Junction Site is located at the southern end of the flat above the junction of the Clyde River and Yadboro River. This is a beautiful spot looking up the flat at Byangee Walls. The Junction of the two rivers is a great spot for families to enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and offers both shallow and deeper waters for all to swim. You may also like to try your hand at some bass fishing and enjoy a quiet beverage while sitting and listening to the water trickle over the small rapids.

This is an awesome waterhole on the Yadboro River to camp. The river peals around a narrow rock section before opening into a waterhole that runs along a rock face. Downstream are narrow tree covered sections of water gum with pools. Great spot to fish, swim and explore. Camp area is narrow, and not flat, but if you level yourself out you’ll be sitting right above the water.

This is one of the choicest camp sites on the river. Right next to the Yadboro River and Clyde River Junction. A fantastic spot to swim, fish, paddle and explore. Roughly 1km of deep water going upstream, and a labyrinth shallow rapids, pools and river forest going downstream. The camp area has plenty of space and easy access to the water. The riverside area is used by other guests.

Had a lovely weekend away here with the most amazing mountain view. The mist rolling across the field at sunrise was amazing, spotted a few wombats, a monitor and so many kangaroos !!

5A Palm Cove: absolutely lovely spot along the river with a gorgeous swimming spot. (Deep enough to properly swim). Toilets were clean and plenty of room to not be cramped with other campers

Wonderful location, fantastic views and magical experience with children (9&11). Constant attention required whilst near the water as the currents can get quite strong. Amazing wild life, and a few young cows who were a little too friendly :)

3A Blue Mahogany
Finding the actual campsite was easy enough however when we got there, another family was camping in our spot. When we approached them, we were told that the host had informed them that this is ok (despite them not being able to book that night online as we had booked it). We tried to contact the host but there is no reception anywhere there or on the surrounding properties. We decided to try find the host at the 'caretaker cottage' however could not locate it until we had to enter a private residence to get help (who said this happens constantly). We were then directed to a caravan that the host supposedly resides in however there was no one there, it looked abandoned and unsafe. We waited for 40 mins there hoping to get this issue resolved. By this time, it was 3 hours after we arrived. We went back to camp in a different spot (despite selecting and paying more for the one we chose). We never saw the host in person. There should be someone monitoring check in and check out of sites as we wasted half our afternoon trying to contact the host and did not have the spot we paid for. The campsite itself is beautiful and quiet with a picturesque landscape however it was nowhere near worth the hassle or frustration. If you do decide to go, please bring your own loo paper as there was none.

Super cute spot! Just know that the track into the site can get quite slippery when wet and I would advise against taking a 2WD in those conditions. Otherwise absolutely lovely stay!

We loved how remote the property is and access to the beautiful Clyde River. It was very peaceful and having a fire at night was great. The flies were unfortunately really bad which is obviously no one’s fault but in future I would consider extra strong repellent and perhaps a way to put up a shelter with a fly screen

We loved our stay at Yardboro flat. A well maintained site with toilet recently added which was a bonus. Our site was the hidden haven which was accessed by driving through a shallow, stoney river. The site was well maintained, separated from other campers with a beautiful vista of the bush. Access to the campground itself is via dirt track if variable conditions so drive carefully and watch out for potholes!

The property itself is gorgeous and the river is great for swimming, however it was let down by the lack of directions. The host gave us some verbal instructions to find our site, but they were too complicated to follow without a physical map or any signage on the property. We weren't sure if we ended up on the correct site we booked. Also, a heads-up for summer travelers: the flies during the day were intense—to the point that it made staying impossible, and we had to leave early. This place has great potential and beautiful views, but it needs better organisation and is likely better visited outside of fly season

9B Yadboro River Waterhole
Beautiful, isolated spot right on a stunning waterhole. The water was crystal clear, and the campsite offered plenty of space and privacy, making it perfect for switching off and truly unwinding. Julie was incredibly friendly on arrival, and when we unexpectedly had a mechanical issue, she and her partner went well above and beyond to help us. With no phone service, they organised satellite messages and followed up to help get our car back on the road. We will be forever grateful for their kindness and support. The location itself is exceptional — peaceful, scenic, and ideal for disconnecting and enjoying life. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this spot.

3A Blue Mahogany
We stayed at Junction site 2. Right on the swimming hole, with beautiful shade in the mornings and sun for our solar in the afternoon. A short 5 minute walk to the toilets. Julie and Steve escorted us to our site and seen to it that we were happy. They checked on us regularly and were beautiful friendly people. The site is beautiful and one of the most perfect spots for kids. It was flat and green. We made a few improvements, installed a huge fire pit and an area for a hammock to hang, as there were no trees suitable to hang a hammock. The water is crystal clear and you can see little fish swimming. Great for kayaking, swimming and fishing although we didn't catch anything. There are 3 friendly cows that might visit you occasionally. It's an hour and a half of dirt road inland from Milton that was manageable our 4x4 and vintage caravan. If it rains you would need a 4x4 to get out. I was surprised how many people came for just 1 night. I would suggest minimum 2-3 nights to be able to enjoy the place. We spent 10 nights. Loved every second and we will be back as soon as we possibly can.

Really lovely spot, quiet and not crowded. River is great! If towing, you’re best off coming Braidwood way, not through Milton. Dirt roads in and a bit rough in some spots. Amazing service and communication from Julie. Will definitely return again :) Caretaker visits you also when camping which is great, very welcoming.

Crossing Site 1 had good access to the river, however it was close to Site 2 and was exposed to the western (afternoon) Sun. The views up to the Castle and Byangee Walls were fantastic. It was a good choice with no intrusion from traffic accessing the other sites, and looking into the trees around the river. Access was good for 2WD in fine weather. Will return again!

This place is so lovely. It’s remote and a great family friendly, non-party place to switch off from the rest of the world for a few days. We will definitely be back for a swim in the river again and again!

9A Platypus Plateau
We very much enjoyed our stay at Platypus Plateau. The kids had a ball in the swimming holes along the river. Being surrounded by wildlife and the large camping sites were the highlights. It was lovely to meet Julie too. Can’t wait to return.
