White Wallaby Camp was an extremely pretty little spot alongside a babbling creek, with no shortage of shade. The owner David came to meet us in his tractor which I loved, was very friendly. The load of firewood we paid for lasted us two evenings. The presence of a toilet - while very rustic (and a lot of spiderwebs/dead spiders !) - was a great bonus. We also made use of the camp sinks (creek water only) in which to wash up. The grass is short and freshly mown - Sir Walter Buffalo or a similar variety. It is easy to set up the tent in the gap between trees for all day shade, although it means being a little further from the firepit (otherwise, camp closer to the firepit and have a bit more sun during the day). The site is 'long and thin' and runs between the road and creek - the road noise was higher than expected and there were a lot of trucks that appeared to bear the markings of a quarry company, although we couldn't see one on Google maps (possibly a temporary construction excavation job?). That said, the sites are reasonably priced for the proximity to offset the proximity to the road. We loved having sole use of the site and specifically chose it for this reason. During our stay, we drove the 15 mins or so to Tyalgum Hotel for dinner (great menu, good food) and to visit the bottle shop. We enjoyed a walk and paddle in the creek which was refreshing and picturesque.
