PLEASE BE SURE TO READ ALL OF OUR BIO ITS LONG BUT YOU'LL GET ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED! We are also available for small Weddings, Birthdays and other functions. Speak to us about using us for a working space for corporate or business trips, collaborations and more......... Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring an amazing rustic cabin, nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

4WD Only Happy Camper

100%
(42)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 28 · Vehicles under 7 m
The Happy Camper 4WD accessible site works best for caravans, camper trailers or tent campers with their own shade. Located approximately 100 metres back from the riverbank, this site is flat and out in the open, so it does not feature a huge amount of shade. Great for a larger group who have an awning on their caravan or camper trailer, or are happy to set up their own gazebo to create a shady spot. Great for campers who have small children and don’t want to be right on the bank. Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Sunny Side 4WD Only

100%
(38)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 20 · Vehicles under 7 m
Sunny Side is a 4WD accessible large, reasonably flat, open campsite, set back from the river bank and perfect for caravans under 19ft, larger camper trailers or tents. This is one of our larger sites but does leave campers more exposed to the sun as it is not overly shaded, so we do suggest that those camping here bring their own shade in the form of awnings on caravans and trailers, or shade gazebos. Great for large groups who want a bit of space for a kick of the footy or an afternoon game of cricket. Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits fresh from our friends at Sophie’s Staples. There are many spots in the various 4WD accessible paddocks around the property to camp to your hearts content. All guests are able to access the river, we simply ask that you don’t encroach on other guests campsites whilst doing so. Banjos Run 4WD

100%
(12)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 20 · Vehicles under 7 m
The Banjos Run 4WD accessible site works best for caravans, camper trailers or tent campers with their own shade. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits fresh from our friends at Sophie’s Staples. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Guests have access to a toilet but you will need to bring your own drinking water and shower. Shower bags are available for hire.  Please do not use any form of soap product in or close to the river. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with other campers and their pets, farm animals or local wildlife.

RV/tent site · Sleeps 15 · Vehicles under 7 m
There are many spots in the various 4WD accessible paddocks around the property to camp to your hearts content. Plenty of room for children to run around in a safe farm environment further away from the river, so choose your spot, under the shade of a tree or out in the open. PLEASE NOTE: Our paddock sites are NOT located on the river bank. These sites are 500 - 700 metres walk from the river but this doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to swim. All guests are able to access the river, we simply ask that you don’t encroach on other guests campsites whilst doing so. Paddock sites are great for those with small children who don’t want to be too close to the river, or for larger, noisier groups who’d like to be isolated from other guests. Riverview Cabin 4WD Only

100%
(7)
Cabin · Sleeps 6 · 1 bedroom · 5 beds
If you’re not into actual camping in tent or trailer form, come spend some time in our insulated rustic cabin that has been lovingly built by Damo. Featuring an open floor plan with a queen bed, a bunk bed and two singles, this space can accomodate up to 6 people. Sheets are provided but guests will need to provide their own blankets and pillows. Heating and cooking are facilitated by a cast iron wood fire, featuring two hot plates and an oven space and there is a cold water sink for drinking water and dishes. Some wood will be provided for your stay. Once this is gone, you may purchase extra. A small fridge will facilitate some food and drink storage but you may need to bring a portable fridge/esky as well. A gas powered shower can be hired if required. A new long drop is under construction closer to the cabin but for the moment, feel free to use the communal long drop near the camp kitchen. A rechargeable lantern is supplied for you to take with you. The cabin is solar powered, with usb points for phone charging, but no other power points. There is also an outdoor fire pit, and outdoor setting if you’d prefer to cook outside, or simply sit around it enjoying the ambience of being in nature. Wood for the fire pit will need to be brought in, or feel free to collect fallen wood from around the property. Please DO NOT cut down or deface any standing trees. A fantastic location for a girls or boys weekend, somewhere for the elders or non camping family members to stay, or for a weekend away with the family camping without actual camping!
