Bush-friendly camping by the river with newly renovated amenities including heated floors (!!), toilets, unlimited hot showers with rain shower heads and dish washing station. Choose your own site and park right next to your tent. Sites are not powered. You are welcome to have campfires in the campground (unless of course there is a total fire ban). There is over 6000 acres of property to explore with activities including horse riding, canoeing, gold panning, river swimming, bushwalking, stargazing etc. This site is for one vehicle and may be a 2WD, 4WD or Campervan. If you are towing a trailer of any type, that is an additional charge of $20 per night, please see our Extras section when making your booking to add this on. Each vehicle must have its own site booking and each site is for up to 5 people. eg: if you are planning to come with 7 people in one vehicle, you will need to book 2 sites, even if you only have one vehicle. Check-out is before 11am. Check-in time is between 11am and 8pm on your arrival date. In the interests of all guests' enjoyment, chainsaws, generators and music may not be used/played in or near the camping ground. Quiet talking after 10pm only to avoid disturbing other guests. If you have a campervan or trailer with bathroom facilities, you may not empty this at Turon Gates - the council of Lithgow does not allow it. Unfortunately, we do not have facilities for this and you must take your refuse with you. Pets must be kept under control and on a leash or tied up in the campground. If your pet tends to bite or be unfriendly, to either humans or other animals, you must keep a muzzle on it as there are young children and other pets at Turon Gates who may approach your pet when you are not looking. There is an additional charge of $10 per night for your pet, please add this under the Extras section when making your booking. Should the number of people, pets, cars or trailers coming in your group change, you must contact us to amend your booking prior to your arrival. Changes to your booking will incur a processing fee of $20 per change. If you do not notify us of additional charges prior to check-in, you accept the additional charges plus additional $40 processing fee. SUPPORT - We have managers on site 24/7 for your support and assistance. They are located a few minutes walk from the campground.

These cabins are located 10 to 15 (Serenity and Khayalan) to 25 minutes (Eagles Nest) drive from the activities so please do take this into account when you are deciding where to stay on the property. This 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with wide covered and secure balcony is very private, with kangaroos bounding by and 2 full sized bathrooms. Inside the spacious cabin is a large open plan kitchen and dining area with a log fire. An extended covered veranda offers reclining chairs (bring a good book or magazine) and an outdoor dining table with a gas BBQ. Outside, you have a second natural wood BBQ and private campfire area next to the cottage. There are 3 main bedrooms with views, 2 with queen beds and 1 with two single beds which could be pushed together to make a king bed. The 4th bedroom also has 2 single beds which you can request for us to make up a king bed. This log cottage is excellent for 4 couples who would like a weekend away together. We are self-catering so bring your food and drinks. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook up fabulous meals. There is even a Nespresso coffee machine for yummy capuccinos! You have full access to all the activities at Turon Gates including the river. Bring a beach towel with you if you like the idea of a swimming in the crystal clear river. This cottage is pet friendly. Please bring bedding and feeding bowls, do look after droppings and please no pets up on the beds or chairs. Turon Gates is environmentally friendly and we use only gas and solar energy. For your complete rest and relaxation, there limited wifi in the mountain cottage. Free to air TV and a DVD player is available but we recommend you bring some games or a book instead. There is a landline telephone where you can receive calls and make local phone calls. SUPPORT - We have managers on site 24/7 for your support and assistance. We enjoyed our time in Turon gates. I like the location, by the river and close to mountains if you want to hike. We did hike during sunrise and sunset, it was great. I absolutely favour the flush toilet and hot shower, plus bins are available. Communication is great. They give clear instructions and directions before our stay. I highly recommends this place and wouldn’t mind going back.

Such a beautiful spot!! You have all the comforts of hot showers and clean bathrooms, with the mix of feeling off-grid. There is so much to do there as well, horse-riding, hikes, 4wd tracks close by. I would 100% recommend.

We loved tent camping along the river bed here! The best part, it was at max capacity and we still felt like we got a great spot and weren’t on top of others. There was plenty of space to go around. It’s incredibly scenic and we also enjoyed the water hole with the tyre swing. We can’t wait to come back we just wish we lived closer

Camp ground is beautiful, amenities were good considering the amount of people. But only negative I would say is that the rules for the grounds aren’t enforced. We set up camp at midday and by 2pm my 4 month old puppy had been attached by three off lead dogs. It was his first trip, we found a nice quiet spot in the corner away from everyone. But by just walking to the toilet and back he was ‘rushed at’ by 2 dogs and then another grabbed him from behind. Won’t be going back.

The website indicated canoeing/Kayaking showing pics of people kayaking. The river was too shallow and there was no indication that this was the case on your website. I understand you have no control of the water level, however had I knowwn, I would not have booked. I feel there was a misrepresentation on your website. Also there were many rules in place that I appreciated, however I saw no-one inforcing them, ie: drones, noise, dust, speed, vehicles traversing to the bathroom etc. Also having just 2+1 toilets and 2 showers for each gender is not nearly enough to accommodate the number of campers. Your website indicated the ideal place for us to camp for a couple of days, however we were very dissapointed and left after just one night.

We had a very lovely stay at Turon Gates. The place was very clean and well taken cared off. The toilets and showers are very convenient and clean. There’s a couple of sink that can be used to clean utensils with potable water. Wildlife’s great! The horses came around to greet everyone. We spotted kangaroos, sheep, kookaburras and goats. The river’s clean and a great place to have a swim. We surely will be back

Beautiful spot to camp with some lovely shady areas. Wasn't very deep to swim in where the camping is, had to drive a bit down the road but apart from that we loved our stay there and would definitely return

Really beautiful property with both wildlife and farm animals. The caretakers were lovely and very helpful and lots of options for activities. We did the canoeing which was on a small but very beautiful area of the river. The camping area is neat but not super private. Would be great for big groups of families as the sites are unmarked. Facilities were also really clean and well maintained.

Absolutely magical place, hope to come here again soon. Camping by the creek is incredibly serene. If you are a wildlife lover you will love this place. Added benefit of shower and toilets made my stay very comfortable.

Awesome spot to camp!! Beautiful ground, toilet and shower facilities were wonderful. The kids loved the roaming horses that would stroll by in the morning and arvo, and the river is nice and shallow so they could play in it all day long. Was a perfect stay for myself and two kids under 5. Thanks for having us!

Overall we had a really good time and all the amenities were amazing one thing that I think let us down was the price for were we stayed in the paddock which wasn’t very big. Other than that everything was amazing

Beautiful location, peaceful during the week, very good facilities, and a very friendly owner; we would recommend it. Keep in mind that a lot of the river walks require crossing the river many times over slippery rocks. We set up a bit too far from the toilets but we didn’t want to get too close to the geese, I would recommend setting up closer if you can. Everything you need to know is communicated very well before arrival. The drive in is definitely doable in my all wheel drive but be prepared for lots of steep crests and blind corners. Would recommend and would come here again, preferably when it’s warmer.

Great patch of land, beautiful to drive through the bush to get there. Camping by the river is awesome. We went during school holidays and it didn't feel crowded, we were able to camp up in our own little private spot. Great for dogs, ours loved playing with the kids. Would come back!

Just got back from an awesome family camping trip at Turon Gates. The location is absolutely stunning – right on the creek, with so much space for the kids to explore and play. It’s incredibly family-friendly and had such a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The amenities were excellent too – clean, well-maintained and made camping so much easier and more comfortable. Between the beautiful scenery and the great facilities, it was the perfect mix of adventure and convenience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful escape with the family!

We loved camping at Turon Gates, absolutely beautiful property and we loved going on many hikes around the property including devils climb. Toilets and showers were amazing with hot water, kids toilet seats, many racks and shelves for belongings, hot water and very well kept. Washing up sinks were great too. We enjoyed seeing the horses in the stables and saw lots of wildlife including an echidna!! Absolutely stunning campsite, would highly recommend the trip, it’s well worth the visit and money.
