Tweed River Retreat
This is a lovely spot by the river. River wasn’t very good for kayaks due to amount of debris. There is some traffic noise from the road. We loved the location to Uki and apart from traffic noise the place was peaceful.

Tweed River Retreat
Great spot to camp, Bob took me over to the campsite closer to the dam, it was so peaceful there with minimal road noise. It’s a picturesque area, I highly recommend going there.

Pretty site by the river. Huge mowed area. Great to have a fire to sit by. Friendly host. Very relaxing and the plenty to explore in the surrounding area.

Bob was great, friendly and provided enough basics. Was also great in the communications prior and getting our 3 groups together.
The down sides are the road, access to the creek (maybe better preflood)
Ideal for the group just stopping in for the night. But maybe be priced accordingly… have stayed elsewhere for less and better.

Tweed River Retreat
The camp has 4 sites, sites one is where most of the photos are taken and unfortunately we didn't get to stay there. Up on the rise is sites 2-4 and they are on higher ground which was great as the ground wasn't too wet with all the rain we've had lately. The river is down a steep embankment and accessible with a bit of a trek and slide down the hill, but nowhere really to sit, or in our case swim as it was running rapids! We were a bit disappointed that we didn't have much space to ourselves, with the next site very close by, but parking our car parallel gave us some privacy. Also the main road out and into Uki is right next to these sites, there isn't much traffic but just something to be mindful of. Great flat and grassy area to camp, and well maintained fire pits to enjoy cooking over or relaxing next to, a great spot for a one nighter and to enjoy the lovely town of Uki.

This is a great spot next to the Tweed River near UKI. The River is fresh water at this location and although a little rocky it is a great place for a dip.
We Camped at site 3 which gave us plenty of space for the Caravan.

We loved camping at Bob's property. The sites are huge and all of them have beautiful green grass. The river was absolutely beautiful and there were sections that we're deep enough for a good swim. You can hear traffic during the day from about 6.30am (it slows right down at night) but we were up early and exploring the area. Uki is a cool little town to poke around in, great pub, interesting shops, a decent supermarket and fabulous coffee. We also enjoyed the location because so many things we're within an hours drive. Unicorn falls, Whian Whian Falls, Tweed Heads, Nimbin, Byron, Corrumbin Beach and heaps more. Limited phone reception in camp but that wasn't a deal breaker. Bob was a great host, stopping by for a chat but leaving us to do our thing. He was flexible and easygoing. Thanks for having us! We would be back next week if it wasn't a 17hr drive.

Tweed River Retreat
We stayed for 4 nights and it was the best way to welcome in 2025!!! There was a group of us so we booked sites 1 a, b and c which worked out perfectly as we had the whole section to ourselves. There was a bit of road noise but that didn’t bother any of us. The river was easy to access, very clean and refreshing. The large grass area was mowed and the whole place was well maintained. Kids loved using the kayaks and saw lots of turtles. Uki was a short drive and had clean toilets, supermarket and good pub.

Tweed River Retreat
We had a good experience, the creek was accessible enough via a short descent and was enjoyed by all of us. Lots of space for playing cricket and kicking the footy around the campsite and plenty to explore. Nearby town of uki has great coffee at the post office cafe.
The road noise was a bit annoying at times and we could’ve done with a bit more shade on the tent area. We had a pretty good time overall.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Tweed River Retreat for 4 nights.
We were on site 1B and were overlooking the river with a great swimming hole and plenty of water. 1A next to us was a great spot aswell!
Bob was an awesome host and came down to introduce himself and make sure we were all good.
We will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend!

Beautiful spot lovely grassy area good bass fishing a slight con road noise but the worst for us was previous campers using the river bank as a toilet the host explains there are no toilet facilities we were self contained but obviously others don’t care don’t ruin an awesome camp because you are lazy and disgusting toilets across the road at dam and also in Uki use them or bring your own. Host is able to be contacted easily and helpful.
