Saliet. (chalèt in Italian 'pronounced with an s not a ch')A working cattle and sheep family property on the Dumaresq River the NSW/QLD border. Just south of the Granite Belt wine country. Glenlyon dam is just up the road. 70km west to Texas and east to Tenterfield Home of Bruxner's Run Vineyard and winery. Currently in the process of setting up a vibrant venue...... with wine ;) Opportunity to relax in the absolute peace and quiet while being just off the highway. We do have a three bedroom house furnished and also has mobility issues covered as well. this site is near winery and not directly on the river as is the camping sites. Please ask if interested until I get it listed as a 'camp' site. There is fishing, and other river activities, to be done as well as sightseeing local dams and towns... and relaxing (you are on holiday after all.)

Dumaresq River camp

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 9 m
The river camp is situated conveniently close to but off the road protected from road noise and sight. almost hidden from the world. No mobile reception at this site. Careful use of the campsite depending on fire threats can be had with foraging for wood in the area. Fishing canoeing and just regular sitting back near but not under the river trees makes for an enjoyable wind down location. Cellar door just up the road offering great coffee anytime, brunch on sundays, and pizza wednesday evenings.

the Dumaresq River glides by below this camp site. The camp area is high on the banks of the river with easy access from the Bruxner Way. An easy but steep walk down a grassy bank to the river where there are both rocky shallows and easy launching for kayaks. The area is a favourite for our family for wetting the line. I won't say you will always catch fish, but its worth doing. This site is close to the road but not near other campers, making this an ideal get away location. We like to offer 'alone' camping but you are most welcome to share your site with family/friends for your own organized group PLEASE NOTE:- this site is clear and as such has no trees offering overhead shade. There is shade from the trees on the river in the afternoon but none overhead. This is possibly only an issue in summer for the heat factor. I am looking to extend the area into the more timbered section but campers must be aware of gum trees dropping branches without notice so the warning remains that camping under trees is at your own risk for this very reason. thank you for understanding.
