Pine View Station is located 180 km North of Broken Hill in outback NSW, Australia. Pine View is a family owned and operated organic sheep and cattle property, and boasts 40 km of the NSW/SA border (dingo) fence as one of its boundaries. The property has several secluded campsites for tag-a-long or self guided tours, as well as shearer's quarters style accomodation. For those who wish not to camp, a 3 bedroom self contained homestead is available. Pine View's attractions include "yellow waterhole" , the campsite used by Charles Sturt for eight weeks during his journey into the centre of Australia looking for an "Inland Sea". Pine View features undulating red sandhills and has areas of creek flood out country, off Flood's Creek. There are many opportunities for photographers, bushwalkers or bird watchers. Make us part of your outback adventure, camp out or use our facilities. Farm stay or B&B available. Tour around the property or join in on station activities.

We were greeted at the end of the driveway by Mark and his dog and escorted to the shearer’s quarters (or should I say shearer’s palace) where we hooked up to power and set up for the night. Mark showed us where we could use the ‘loo and left us to our own devices under the gorgeous expanse of open sky. We explored the old shearer’s shed and marvelled at the luxury of the new quarters! The camp kitchen and amenities would be shear (pun intended) joy for anyone working this property. While the HipCamp site says ‘no fires’, Mark told us this was not correct so we had an amazing fire as the sun went down. On the way out of the station there’s a cute little sign that’s worth stopping at for photos as well as a bush library where you can grab/swap/exchange a book. A brilliant idea!! Driving south along the dog fence end or north from Broken Hill end it’s an awesome drive and an oasis at the end of a dusty day.
