We had such a great stay at Petaurus Garden! Chris was an awesome host — he upgraded us to a larger tent since it was just me and my husband, and made sure we had everything we needed, including extra torches, lighters, and other essentials. He even offered us a bike ride, which was such a nice touch. We also went kayaking and explored the walking trails around the property- such a peaceful and beautiful spot. There was hot water available for tea and coffee too, which made the mornings even better. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing nature getaway! We will definitely be back 💛

Chris was super kind and nice. The site was sooo peaceful and well-maintained. The toilet was clean, and the shower was spacious with hot water and body wash provided❤️ The BBQ area also looked really cool. We came back to this campsite during our trip! highly recommended😉😉

Petaurus Gardens was beautiful. The ammenities were clean and well maintained and Chris made sure we never ran out of firewood. Riding the bike on the trails right next to the camping site was great and kayaking was also very fun, since we got to see the wildlife. Although be careful of snakes, especially when dark, since we saw a venomous one. Overall a great experience I would recommend! Hope to come back soon.

Our first family camping trip was absolutely magical, and it was all thanks to this beautiful spot and its host, Chris. From the moment we arrived, Chris made us feel welcome, helping us set up and even lending us some gear we didn't have—a table, chairs, and a bright light—all at no cost. This simple act of kindness made our first experience so much easier and more comfortable. The entire campground is clearly a labor of love, with perfectly manicured lawns and facilities that were spotless, including hot showers and clean bathrooms. They even deliver firewood right to your site, which was a huge convenience. The location is a nature lover's dream. We had a blast hiking the nearby trails, spotting vibrant birds and even some impressive iguanas. Being right next to a creek was a bonus, and I highly recommend renting a bike—I covered over 25km and loved every minute of it. The amenities, from the hot water boiler to the cold drinking water, just made everything so much easier. We couldn't have asked for a better first camping trip. This place is truly a hidden gem for families and anyone looking for a peaceful, well-cared-for getaway. We can't wait to go back!

I had an amazing time here! Chris is just wonderful. He was so accommodating and arranged everything for us. The tents were cozy and comfortable to sleep in! Chris also has tea and coffee arrangements at the entrance. Just note that the toilets are compost toilets. Everything else was just perfect! Would love to come and stay in the bigger tent

Exceeded Expectations

Chris has done a most wonderful job of setting up his camp sites. Our Glamping Tent was very well appointed, extremely comfortable and in a beautiful setting. The toilets and showers were extremely clean and a pleasure to use. Chris went to a lot of trouble throughout our stay to provide the most excellent service. He provided firewood, extra blankets, tea and coffee, local area advice and a level of service we were not expecting in a camp site. The location is also brilliant. Only 30 minutes from Evans Head meant we had the best of both worlds. Privacy and seclusion in a bush setting along with easy access to towns and beaches. We were blown away with the effort Chris has gone to in order to provide the best possible experience for his guests. Congratulations!! P.S. The on-site Paddymelons were an unexpected treat.

Glamping in the native gardens

My friends and I stayed in the glamping tents. It was very spacious and comfy. The Pataurus Native Gardens was the most relaxing and peaceful place. Chris was a fantastic host and well accommodating for his guests. The place itself says it all, native plants and wildlife were amazing and spacious. Nature walk was so peaceful and cooling for us. I would say the all 3 days was so amazing. I will highly recommend this property. Thank you Chris for your warm nature and hospitality. Thank you for sharing your amazing native property with us.

*5/5 Stars* "Exceptional campsite experience! Chris, the owner, was super friendly and welcoming. The site was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a serene water body nearby. Chris went above and beyond, setting up our hired tent and providing an extra tent with a table, 5 chairs, and 8 sleeping mattresses at no extra charge. Despite arriving 4 hours late, Chris was patient and had everything ready for us. His hospitality and dedication to guest comfort are truly commendable. A real find and hidden gem!

This is an amazing place! We stayed for two nights, four adults and three kids and hired out the large glamping tent plus one tent site directly opposite. Chris is amazing! Such a warm and professional welcome and made us feel right at home. The glamping tent was very luxurious and all the amenities were wonderful. The shower was heavenly! Beautiful grounds, great walks for most abilities. We loved the fire pit, and loved toasting marshmallows and star gazing at night. Great wildlife on the property and the flora was great to walk through. We took a trip to Byron Bay during one of the days, very doable, the kids loved it. Highly recommend Chris and Petaurus Gardens...thank you so much for making our stay so memorable.

Top weekend away

We stayed at the glamping site and it was absolutely amazing! The tent was super comfortable and well set up, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Chris is really friendly and helpful, offered us an upgrade to a larger tent and helped us to set the fire. Hot shower is also perfect. Recommend for couples to spend a weekend there! The best thing we spotted an echidna in the bush at night. Very cute.

Glamping at Petaurus Gardens

My partner and I loved glamping in the tents at Petaurus Gardens. If you want a quiet getaway surrounded by gumtrees, waking up to bird calls, then this is the place for you. With trails leading to freshwater reservoirs, creeks, and a unique bush beach, there are spaces to explore. Chris was super helpful and kind. He set up our fire and made sure we had everything we needed, with advice on the cool spots on the land to check out. The rustic bathroom block was great for a hot shower at the end of a peaceful day.

Communication with the owner isn't the best. There was no toilet paper in the toilet the first night. For somewhere to stay in the cold times warm bedding was lacking. It is a beautiful place but needs tonstepmupma level for the cost

We only stayed for a quick overnight stop on our way north, but looked like a great little spot to stay a little longer and explore the property. The tent platform proved amazing as unfortunately we couldn't choose the weather. Hosts were very friendly and super accommodating!

Awesome camp in a beautiful spot

Great campsite and great hosts. The best camp shower and toilet I have experienced and the raised deck for our tent kept us out of the mud and moisture. We didn’t meet Dianne but her family were very accommodating, providing mozzie zappers and citronella lanterns to place around the site and extra firewood. Being there after a big wet, the mozzies and pot holes along the dirt access road made it a little challenging but being prepared for this would make all the difference. It was also a bit further out from Evan’s head/Yamba etc. than the listing described. Thank you guys for a great camp, if we’re up in Northern NSW again we will be back!

We had such a lovely stay at this camp site the setting was peaceful and beautiful. The facilities were great even had hot water and the tents were amazing. The host really made it stand out. We had a run of bad luck with our car, and he went absolutely above and beyond to help us out. From offering advice to physically helping us sort things out, he was incredibly kind and generous with his time. Highly recommend staying here, not just for the gorgeous setup and great facilities but for the amazing hospitality. Thank you again!

Booked two of the glamping tents to camp with a friend and our kids. Host was very helpful and attentive, setting us up with a fire and free insect repellent. This place was more established than I expected. Didn't get a chance to do any of the activities (kayaking, mountain biking etc) but had a really great time nonetheless. Great price as well 😊

We had an amazing stay at this campsite. The place was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by someone (not sure if he was the owner or the manager), who kindly explained everything to us — where things were, how the campsite works, and gave us some great info about the local wildlife. The area is full of wildlife, which made the experience even more special. We saw and heard so much nature all around us — it really felt like we were immersed in it. The hot shower was an absolute win, and being allowed to have a campfire made everything even better. One thing to keep in mind: there were a lot of mosquitoes when we arrived. Thankfully, the host gave us a citronella torch that helped keep them away, but they were still pretty intense. Also, the road to get there had quite a few potholes, so drive carefully. Other than that, everything was fantastic. For the price, it’s totally worth it. Would definitely come back!

This place was awesome! Amenities were fantastic and the platform to camp on was an absolute life saver given it rained every night. The hosts were very generous and had some spare Mozzie coils and zappers for us to borrow which was greatly appreciated. Bring your gumboots and bug spray! We would happily come back here.

Nature lovers paradise

This family run camp is only new. Chris lives on site and is catering to the eco camper. His knowledge and conservation of this pristine area is impressive. I setup camp down on the river that was easily accessible, and even has its own sandy beach! There are walking tracks all over the expansive property and is a bird lovers paradise. I was able to use their Kayak and have a paddle a few kms upstream flicking a few lures to try and catch that elusive bass that's still there. The amenities block had a nice hot shower, toilets and sinks. There are a number of glamping style tents that have been setup for those that like a bit of comfort or don't have the gear. There's plenty of wood around to have a fire. Great spot, not too far from civilisation but far enough to think your the only person on earth. I will definitely be back.
