My brother and I had a phenomenal time here. It really doesn’t get any better. Super simple instructions to get here and we couldn’t have had a better time. If only the fish were biting! Ahh well, next time 😂

Oakview Bush Camp 2 - walk to river
This is a beautiful spot! Loved exploring the river, seeing a wombat at dusk, and the morning visit from the cows. The campsite was very private and peaceful. We will definately be back.

The camp site itself was good but the owners could charge more and make the stay much nicer by including a drop toilet, a gate in the fence so you can easily get down to the river (other than by jumping the fence or walking all the way down to the paddock gate) and by cleaning up the broken glass and cans from irresponsible campers. Good but not attractive to families.

This is a great spot very close to Fish river and reasonable located to Lyall Lake if you like time away from your camp.
It would be worth noting that it can become windy without warning.
There was 2 sections to camp in, amongst the trees or down close to the river which has limited protection.

Sally needed to move us to Riverside 2 and we’re so happy she did. It was absolutely beautiful and so private. We camped right by the river and even though the track was a little steep we made it in and out with no problems. You will definitely a 4WD to access this site. We loved collecting the firewood for our fire each night and the kids enjoyed throwing in their lines. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. Thank you Sally!

Oakview - Bushcamp 2 was exactly as described and just what we wanted over Easter...Peace & Quiet. We didn't see another person till our last day, when Sally rode in on her horse to say g'day.

My Son and I spent 2 wonderful nights on the Fish River on this awesome property. Sally was awesome with directions to the property and the site. Access was relatively easy down to the river from the gate. We had complete privacy, did some fishing, had fun riding tubes on the river downstream and finished the day sitting around the fire. Would recommend to anyone looking for the same experience. Great for a family and enough space for a small group.
Thank you Sally for opening up your property to us, we most definitely will be back!

The site is nice and close to the river but not very well kept, we also were told that there was no one else going to be there but seemed to be other guests staying in the farm house which is quite close to the camp site and there were continually down at the river, where we could see then and constantly looking at us which did make the site feel less secluded and private.

Another amazing few days at this beautiful piece of Australian bush farmland. My son and I visit a few times a year, where we can, and Oakview is our go-to. Sally, Bruce and family keep the sites beautifully, and I can't thank them enough for their willingness to share them with us. Will be back (again) soon!

Unbelievable!!!!! Incredible views, beautiful animal life and the river was even better than I could have imagined.
Such straight forward and easy host. Have no stress for directions, as you will get them a day or 2 to get to your spot with good detail. As it recommends a 4x4 is required.
Unlimited amount of fire wood if you've got a chainsaw as there is plenty of old dried up fallen trees.
110% will be coming back.

Amazing campsite. The beautiful river next to the camp makes it peaceful. It's a very easy track to access for a 4WD with a trailer/caravan etc. Plenty of firewood from the river. The best part is there is no phone reception. Great host.

We had a lovely weekend away here. We were nestled among the trees and it was only a short walk to the water. Our kids has a ball. Sally is easy to communicate with and the directions were clear.

Great spot alongside the river! Sally’s communication was excellent and the site was tidy and clean. Nice location close to Bathurst or surrounding forests to go exploring - who knew that O’Connell was the first European settlement over the mountains and has the oldest barn in Australia there? Well worth a visit!
