Oakey Ridge – Nature, Views & Wildlife on a Pet-Friendly Farm Nestled in the scenic hills between Lismore and Nimbin on our peaceful 277-acre beef cattle farm. This is a place to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The property features a running creek, seasonal waterfalls, subtropical rainforest pockets, and open ridge lines with sweeping views. Our bushland is home to abundant wildlife – keep an eye out for wallabies, native birds, and if you’re lucky, a koala drinking from our treetop water stations. 🐾 Pet-Friendly: We love dogs, and they love it here too! Many of our guests bring their furry friends along for the adventure. There’s plenty of space to explore, just keep them supervised and under control around livestock and wildlife. 🌿 Nature & Adventure: Explore our designated nature corridor, take a peaceful walk, or hike up to one of our lookouts. For those with a 4WD, parts of the property offer even more to discover. 🚗 2WD Access: No 4WD? No worries! All main campsites are 2WD accessible and well spaced for privacy and comfort. 🛁 Clean Facilities: We provide simple, clean, and well-maintained amenities to make your stay comfortable. 🌱 Regeneration in Progress: We’re proud to be actively involved in land regeneration and sustainable farming practices, working to support biodiversity and a healthy future for the land. It is 2WD accessible and have many designated sites to choose from or create your own site if you wish. Within minutes walking distance to the bathroom and camp kitchen while still offering privacy and views of the property. If your 4WD & camping enthusiast and want that remote isolated camp spot We have many tracks around the property to find areas from private creek frontage, shaded valleys or elevated hilltops with views for kilometers. Our 4wd tracks are weather dependent if wanting to remote 4WD camp message first so can get an idea of your requirements and make some suggestions and prepare a site. 
We endeavour to make all our sites as private and where we can, out of view of other campers, whether its a late night stargaze around the fire or an early start to enjoy the sunrise, its like having the farm to yourself. From scenic high ridge lines to peaceful valleys there are many options to choose from. Finding that perfect spot is only limited by your imagination, and in some cases , access to a 4WD
Disconnect from every day life and enjoy the outdoors, Connect with your friends and family around the campfire, and if you need to keep in touch with the bustle, we have good Telstra mobile reception over most of the property and offer free wifi around camp kitchen Our bathroom has 2 flushing toilets and hot shower. We also have a camp kitchen with hot water, kettle, fridge and BBQ We take group bookings that offer large camp sites, powered areas and tailored camping options. Groups of 15 can have exclusive areas of the property Message me for information regarding your group. 
Lots to do in the local area, we are located 25 mins to both Nimbin & Lismore and 1 hour to Byron Bay.

What an amazing place to stay the photos don't do the stay justice, we came with a camper trailer and 4x4 car had the option to stay way out in the middle of nowhere but stayed fairly close to the amenities which not many hipcamps offer hot showers and free WiFi, once set up we had a walk down to the amazing waterfall and took the 4x4 up on the peaks to watch the sunset over the distant mountains, gregg is 1 of the most friendly people even when busy he will stop make sure your fine have a chat bit of advice even offer to take you around the 270 acre land in his biggie, I would 100% stay again, great location for nimbin, lismore and 1 hour from byron bay and minyon falls, must see places and a must place to stay

Always a great stay at Oakey Ridge! The property feels so inviting and Greg is such a welcoming host. There’s been some great upgrades to the amenities and camping sites since i stayed in 2024, which signifies a caring land owner. I was parked about 1km away from the main amenities block and still had decent Telstra service. It was the perfect camp to sit and be with country, thank you Greg for the time :)

Absolutely gorgeous land. Greg is an absolute legend for letting me snag some of the amazing looking mangos that were growing while I was there (not much better than munching straight into fruit off a tree). Bit of a trek to either loo from the fig tree site but absolutely worth it to be able to pat a couple cows on the way.

Greg is an amazing host, and this was by far the best camping spot we’ve been to. You have total peace and quiet and can stay completely on your own on the grassy hills. There’s a small river, a waterfall, and mango trees. Highly recommended and very fairly priced, even for us as very low-budget travelers.

The best camping experience we’ve ever had. The views here are spectacular and there is so much to explore. Greg’s hospitality went above and beyond our expectations. The camp sites are well spaced and private with great flat ground for a tent or swag to be set up. We will definitely be back.

The views were beautiful. Loved the peaceful and serenity. Greg was great host. Super helpful and he gave us direction so well that we could reach without any hassle. we fell in love with the place. It was peaceful and sleeping under the sky was mesmerising.

Overall we had a good experience, Greg was friendly and the setting was lovely, with beautiful views on the hills! You can spot small animals like frogs around the property and we even saw kangaroos at sunset, jumping over the fence. Our site was accessible and felt private despite being close to the entrance, but there are remote spots available for 4x4s. On a sad note, around 8:30pm we wanted to use the kitchen but it looked like power and water weren't available...luckily we had a plan B for dinner! In general, I'd suggest to level the sites a bit more and to let us know amenities constraints (if any) during the tour of the campsite to increase comfort of guests and awareness.

I have stayed at Oakey Ridge several times now while working in the Lismore area. Greg is a great host and always happy to help with anything you need. Nice quiet area and some great views from up the top. Facilities are clean and tidy. One of my favourite hipcamps!

Our visit to the campsite was a real highlight for us. A beautiful country, a stunning panorama with a lake and direct access to a waterfall. We were welcomed with great warmth and hospitality. There was a hot shower and a toilet available, which made the stay very comfortable. The best camping we’ve had in a long time. The perfect place to truly get away from your worries and just be. Thanks

Thank you Greg! We really enjoyed our stay. Greg gave us all the freedom in the world to choose our spot, and even mowed the grass for us. The portaloo nearby was always clean, and we were able to pick up lots of firewood for our campfire. Greg also supplied a bucket full for $20. Even though it was the week after Christmas, it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Our sites were accessible by regular cars, but there are more remote spots available for 4x4s.

Really enjoyed the Waterfall camp-site. The property was more beautiful than we expected. Our dog had a ball. Greg was really helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome. We will definitely go back!

Most gorgeous little escape! Beautiful big farm away from any main cities. Greg was amazing, he took me for a tour around the property showing me the best views! And was there to help with anything. Sitting by the campfire all night after watching sunset. It’s one of my new favourite places and I’ll definitely be back

Camping on a ridge overlooking beautiful vistas, campsite very spaced out. Set in 180 acres cattle farm. Greg will do anything to make a special spot to stay, even a ride at sunset to the highest part of his farm!
