Oakey Ridge – Nature, Views & Wildlife on a Pet-Friendly Farm Nestled in the scenic hills between Lismore and Nimbin on our peaceful 277-acre beef cattle farm. This is a place to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The property features a running creek, seasonal waterfalls, subtropical rainforest pockets, and open ridge lines with sweeping views. Our bushland is home to abundant wildlife – keep an eye out for wallabies, native birds, and if you’re lucky, a koala drinking from our treetop water stations. 🐾 Pet-Friendly: We love dogs, and they love it here too! Many of our guests bring their furry friends along for the adventure. There’s plenty of space to explore, just keep them supervised and under control around livestock and wildlife. 🌿 Nature & Adventure: Explore our designated nature corridor, take a peaceful walk, or hike up to one of our lookouts. For those with a 4WD, parts of the property offer even more to discover. 🚗 2WD Access: No 4WD? No worries! Our main camping area stretches 900m along a ridge line that captures views from every direction. It is 2WD accessible and have many designated sites to choose from or create your own site if you wish. Within minutes walking distance to the bathroom and camp kitchen while still offering privacy and views of the property. If your 4WD & camping enthusiast and want that remote isolated camp spot We have many tracks around the property to find areas from private creek frontage, shaded valleys or elevated hilltops with views for kilometers. Our 4wd tracks are weather dependent if wanting to remote 4WD camp message first so can get an idea of your requirements and make some suggestions and prepare a site. 
We endeavour to make all our sites as private and where we can, out of view of other campers, whether its a late night stargaze around the fire or an early start to enjoy the sunrise, its like having the farm to yourself. From scenic high ridge lines to peaceful valleys there are many options to choose from. Finding that perfect spot is only limited by your imagination, and in some cases , access to a 4WD
Disconnect from every day life and enjoy the outdoors, Connect with your friends and family around the campfire, and if you need to keep in touch with the bustle, we have good Telstra mobile reception over most of the property and offer free wifi around camp kitchen Our bathroom has 2 flushing toilets and hot shower. We also have a camp kitchen with hot water, kettle, fridge and BBQ We take group bookings that offer large camp sites, powered areas and tailored camping options. Groups of 15 can have exclusive areas of the property Message me for information regarding your group. 
Lots to do in the local area, we are located 25 mins to both Nimbin & Lismore and 1 hour to Byron Bay.

Because of our schedule, we had no choice but to arrive around 7 pm, so we had to set up in the dark. It was raining and very windy, so it was quite difficult for us, but Greg helped us with absolutely everything — pitching our tent, putting up our gazebo, and even lending us pegs since it was our first camping trip and we hadn’t brought any. We were so, so grateful and relieved. And even though it was raining and we couldn’t use the fire properly, he still helped us light the firewood beforehand when we told him it was our first time and we weren’t really sure how to do it. That was incredibly kind of him. We couldn’t see the view properly when we arrived at night, but when we woke up in the morning, the scenery was absolutely stunning. It made us want to come back again on a sunny day — this place is truly perfect. Even though our first camping experience was quite challenging, Greg turned it into such a wonderful memory. We’re so thankful to him. We’ll definitely be recommending this place to others. Even the drive here was beautiful, so we truly, truly recommend it.

Love this place , it was our second time coming and it’s just so peaceful and beautiful. Greg is so accomodating and helped us out many times with whatever we needed. We stayed on the ridge at the top the first time and was just stunning and stayed down the bottom this time and was also stunning also with the cows and the meadow. Thanks for helping us out with an air mattress you saved our trip ! Will be back again !

Camping at Oakey Ridge Retreat was absolutely fantastic. Driving along the ridge line and camping on top of it and underneath the stars was gorgeous. Despite the hot weather we could spend all the time in the world swinging underneath the fig tree. Greg was an awesome host, with clear directions and he was always in touch with information regarding the weather an all around great bloke and a great chat.

We went camping there for a couple of days and it was absolutely beautiful! We were visited by the adorable cows that roam the farm and enjoyed amazing sunsets from our site. Greg was more than happy to show us around and show us the sites, he was very accommodating and helped us with any questions or concerns. We will definitely be coming back for another camping trip and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit!

We had a lovely weekend at Oakey Ridge. It was very quiet and peaceful, beautiful outlook. We had a reasonably flat camp site and it was very private. There were other groups there but we were a good distance from them. We enjoyed the bird life and the friendly cows stopping by to say hi. Greg was a very friendly and helpful host and checked in with us and had a chat without being intrusive. We’ll definitely be back and would certainly recommend Oakey Ridge.

The sites are beautifully spaced out, giving everyone plenty of privacy and a real sense of peace and seclusion. We stayed up on the mountain and the views were absolutely incredible — we had both sunset and sunrise views right from our campsite. The property is well maintained, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into keeping it natural while still being comfortable. Couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking for a quiet, scenic getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing location, especially if you have a 4WD! Loved the views and the campsites were spacious away from other guests. Greg was a lovely host. Just note there’s only one shower & 2 toilets for the campsite.

Really lovely spot!!! Stunning views, campsites are nice and spaced out so it feels private, and Greg is very helpful. Great to have the option for toilet, shower and camp kitchen though it is a decent walk from some campsites. If you're bringing your dog just be aware of ticks - a kind campsite neighbour gave me the heads up and I found several on my pup. Just bush/cattle ticks, but still need to pull them off.

Most stunning farm campsite 10/10

By far the most stunning campsite I’ve ever been to. My partner and I stayed up the hill under the trees and got to watch over the whole valley. It also happened to be the full moon which we saw rising inbetween the mountains. Very well maintained property and amenities. Greg is super friendly and showed us around in his beautiful property.

My group and I had an amazing time at Oakey Ridge campsite. The scenery was breathtaking and the grounds were perfectly maintained. Greg was an outstanding host, constantly making sure every campers needs were met. The campsites are spaced out so that it feels like you're there alone. He even went above and beyond to show us all the best spots to visit, like the creek, waterfall and a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. The vicinities we're clean and accessible. I highly recommend visiting and we will be back again! We absolutely loved it 🥰

We had the best time camping at Oakey Ridge. When we arrived Greg was kind enough to take us around the entire property, show us the campsites and explain which ones would be the best. Oakey Ridge only has 10 campsites to choose from so you really feel like it’s just you out there and it’s not overcrowded. People have mentioned the amenities were a little run down, while this is true having the opportunity to have a hot shower, a flushable toilet and a place to wash your dishes while camping is a luxury and we were grateful we could just walk on down and use them whenever we wanted. We were also lucky enough to have access to wifi as we stayed at the Fig Tree campsite, another great thing Greg provides at the communal area. We also did some exploring of the property and went for a walk down to the dam and along the little creek. Overall we can’t wait to go back and spend some more time at Oakey Ridge.

Very impressed with the stay. Legend of a host met us and showed us around the sites giving recommendations and asking what experience we wanted. Ended up going way up the top with amazing 360 views. He then dropped the purchased wood bucket off and even threw in a firelighter. Grass was mowed just right, the amenities were clean and tidy and the Hilux loved the drive in. We’ll be back for sure.

We loved the views and the space between campsites. Also pet friendly. Greg is an amazing host and will do all he can to make sure your stay is a good one. This was our second stay in two weeks and we absolutely loved the quiet surroundings. Other campers on site were friendly and respectful too.

We camped by the mango tree section of the property and what a beautiful spot it was, super peaceful country views and amazing view of the stars at night. Greg is a friendly host who showed us many spots to choose from which was probably the hardest part 😅 there's a communal kitchen/bathroom area which was a luxury to have while camping... would love to come back again 😊

Greg was super friendly and helpful. He drove us around the property to choose the perfect spot. We had 4 nights and had the whole place pretty much to ourselves (if you don’t count the cows lol). Beautiful views all around. Basic camp kitchen and bathroom was available if you need it. We will definitely return!
