Lovingly developed for 15 years as a mindful refuge & wildlife corridor by Victoria, a filmmaker/permaculture designer, the property was completely destroyed in 2018. Thus the mega bushfire cycle began impacting forever most of NSW's flora, fauna & people. Nature ultimately prevails & slowly the untamed terrain is healing. After studying at RMIT School of Architecture & Design for three years with the intention to design tiny living house systems better suited for harsh environments, Victoria has returned. Slowly she rebuilds a humble off-grid existence from the burnt-out bus fusing knowledge of building design with her food forests/aquaponics passion, keen to create an environmentally connected experience to share with like-minded others. By staying you are helping her & all the wild things emerge from the ashes. Thank you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 - BRUMBIES NOOK is a lovely sheltered space tucked away overlooking mostly bush and pastoral hills opposite. Situated conveniently just off the main driveway which is more a kangaroo track really. There's a small campfire pit, a cute upcycled gas BBQ with cleaning vinegar & basic tools provided [please clean before you go], your own utility water, privately screened compost loo with composting wheelie bin and upcycled compost tumbler your food waste to feed the worms. 4 - COOLAMON BEND

(8)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 10 · Vehicles under 10 m
4 - COOLAMON BEND is a tranquil spot for a group who can freely spread out under the trees with their well behaved fur friends off the beaten track. It's the unmarked highway for tiny wallabies and much rounder wallaroos. Your temporary forest home enjoys incredible sunset views down into the seasonal creek shielded by a casuarina grove and wombat bottoms. 4WD drive-on site only in drier conditions otherwise all vehicles can park on site perimeter and cross-country hike 30m to the camping spot depending where you want to set-up, there's a couple of options for spillover. This site works well for tents and trailers; has a wildcamp vibe a little off the beaten track. It has recently successfully housed 2 x offgrid caravans and worked really well! A fire drum, personal compost bush loo, humanure composter, food waste bucket, and 250L utility water barrel are all provided. Just bring the tent, marshmallows and good times! Directly across the drive is little used Gurugulan Mound which is great if there's a large group for party spillovers for a forest village vibe.

10 - MARES FOREST VIEW is a hidden intimate site with a shoulder strip which allows for group spillover if need be. Off the beaten track, it straddles the back of the ridge top with glimpses over Mares Forest National Park. The main campsite with the best views is cosy and wedged into a rare spot above the sloping forest. There's another space buttressed close through a thin veil of trees which allows an extra vehicle and tribe to join forces. There's a 250L water barrel, a stone fire circle, personal portable compost loo and bucket for food scraps. Plenty of firewood to forage in the hood. This site is 4WD recommended and high & dry. NB. For larger group bookings, this site works well with Hermit Hut and Hermit Circle as they're clustered over the hill from the main ridge sites.
