I love the campsite. Was beautiful and remote spot.
The Host Geoff was amazing and very accommodating.
Definitely recommend if you want a quiet place to relax.

Overall the place was nice but there was extremely bad ants. I brought my two dogs and they would get absolutely covered in minutes and wouldn’t suggest this place to be pet friendly

Peaceful site on the edge of Lake Abortree sadly in need of rain but would be great fun when full. Lovely birdsong and flowering gums. Great to have a fire and with no livestock our pooch was able to run free. Facilities are very basic but Geoff was friendly and helpful providing firewood and water for the toilet. Beautiful sunsets and a cracking storm provided plenty of drama

Geoffrey is such a nice host that helps us a lot. He will take you to his property since the location pined on hitcamp is not precise. The lake is only 10% of its capacity due to no rain but still looks great because of the wild open area with the top down view. Far away from other campers thus feels premium. High quality wild firewood provided. No rain means have to use the bucket of water to flush the toilet but much better than drop toilet. Highly recommended. You won’t regret.

Geoff was an incredible host going above and beyond for us.
The kids loved kayaking, fishing and catching yabbies.
If you enjoy camping with no one else around, amazing stars, the sounds of frogs croaking at night, and waking up to the chirping of countless birds then you will love it here.

Geoff is a great host and great/quick with communication! He gave us directions from town and then took us to the campsite.
The site itself was peaceful and with lots of room. The lake is surrounded by lovely trees which provide some much needed shade. We took our SUPs out on the late and had a good paddle around and got to see some of the bird life around the area.
Would 100% recommend this site.

Great place to camp. The lake was a bit low when we were there, but even so it was Great place to camp. The lake was a bit low when we were there, but even so it was lovely and Jeffrey lovely And had 12 pelicans. What more can you want?

The farm is great and Geoff is so nice!
We are the only camper this time and we love the spot close to the lake.
It’ll be better if we didn’t come on a rainy day, cause the road gat muddy.
PS. Chat with Geoff for navigation before you go and not to use direction link on Hicamp (for now, hope Hicamp could correct it in the future). We’ve been navigated to another direction.

Had a great time camping over Easter weekend on Geoffrey's property with friends. Plenty of space for all 8 of us to set up tents under shade with picnic tables and toilet right next to us.
Pros: Quiet and spacious spot with green grass next to the lake. Got some nice sunrises/sunsets.
Cons: The lake itself at the moment is very shallow (waist deep) and muddy which means that it's not great for swimming currently. We went in once but I wouldn't advise

This was our second time campibg at the lake and we will return. Great host, execellent camp site on the lake bank, woke up to a perfect view each day, easy access in the dry.

This was such a beautiful spot! The lake is only 30% full and more like a wetland right now but it was still stunning, with an incredible variety of birdlife to enjoy. And Geoff was a very helpful, friendly host. Unfortunately, the large group of campers next to us were incredibly inconsiderate, parting loudly every night until after midnight. They weren't even close by (maybe 25m) but their selfishness had a negative impact on our experience. Not the camp's fault of course. I would like to return, hopefully not at the same time as these dimwits.

We loved it. Geoff was very helpful. Hipcamp directions sent us left Geoff was quick to reply and help us get to the site.

We stayed for 6 nights and loved the place. Geoff was a great host and very helpful. He even mowed an area out for us right near the waters edge. Would definitely recommend if you are after a relaxing time on the water in a quiet little town.

The campsite was deceptively signposted and we nearly left when the signs said no dogs allowed. The flush toilets were a non event, when the water is next turned on the toilets will need to be cleaned with a shovel!!!
The site is isolated and pretty, but we were visited at 3.00am in the morning by locals who drove noisily around our camp then left . The property owner was pleasant and did check to see if we could cope without the advertised flush toilets but not quite what we expected.

Such a beautiful area, well maintained, picturesque and peaceful. I was fortunate enough to have the place all to myself. The sky at night was to die for!!
Geoffrey was a wonderful host, ensuring I found the right spot, occasionally checking in to see if there were any issues. There were none. Hoping I can go back one day in summer and go water skiing on the lake.

A hidden gem. Geoff escorted us to a great spot right on the bank of the lake. Unfortunately it was that windy the weekend we were there we had to drop down behind the bank for a bit of a windbreak, but still had great views of the countryside. Definitely a great spot to stop and watch the world go by.

Such a peaceful and quiet location. Wish we had our SUP board with us. As the the lake looked very inviting.
Geoff was extremely friendly and helpful with finding the camp.
Basic amenities, I would recommend being self-sufficient.
The water, the farmland, and the environment are delightful.
We will definitely be back.

Great camping spot right on the lake bank, easy directions in and Geoff was a great host. Flushing toilets were spotless and the lake perfect for kayaking. We had an excellent time and will be back.

Loved the camping site, the lakeside view and specially the host, Jeff, was so quick responsive and helpful in every matter, very nice gesture to offer and bring some firewood for campfire, Really Appreciate for that.
Overall Excellent spot for camping despite the unpredictable weather. We enjoyed a lot.

Amazing setting!
Host that can't do enough to please and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The lake is absolutely stunning and perfect to cool off in. We swam out and around the little Island without any problems at all. Toilets were maintained daily by our host Geoff and any he checked in to see if we needed anything and were enjoying our stay.
We had the most fantastic time and would recommend this stay.
We will be back.

A fantastic place with a great host and lots of activities for a beautiful get away.
Lake Abortree is maintained by the lovely host Geoff, who catered to our every need and was never far away for a chat, but also left us to our own devices to enjoy the privacy of our site for most of the day. Geoff saved our camping trip with a last minute change of plans that he graciously accepted, even going so far as to meet us in Ariah Park and lead us into the sites as it was getting dark!
With camping available all around the lake, there is definitely a spot to suit everyone and we camped close to other groups but we had a great amount of privacy to really enjoy our time.
The lake is a great place to cool off and is large enough to swim, kayak, float or even boat around during the heat of the day, and despite the algae, made for a great time for me and my group. We were totally blown away by the beauty of the area!
I cannot highly enough recommend Geoff and Lake Abortree for a get-away and a great camping time! We will definitely be back in the colder months to enjoy a campfire!

From the minute we arrived and greeted by our fantastic host Geoff it was evident what a wonderful time we would have. The Lake at your doorstep, beautiful large grassy sites that your welcome to choose. Geoff gave us a rundown on the property and left us to set up however checked daily that we had all we needed. No need for a thing at this amazing place. Lake, toilets and amazing Sunsets what else could you want.
Great little town 5 minutes away, Pub lunch was fantastic, small supermarket well stocked and all you could need, chemist, hardware also.
Would highly recommend this camp and can't thank Geoff enough for his hospitality. A new friend indeed.
