Little Rawdon Island Camp

We loved camping at Site 1. We had exclusive use of the camp kitchen and plenty of space to spread out. Scott and Marg are terrific hosts, friendly and welcoming. Only 25 mins inland from Port Macquarie, a cafe just 5 mins away and 10 mins off the Pacific Highway, we highly recommend this place for either a stop over or a week's stay. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The fishing was great as well! Thanks Scott and Marg.

Peaceful setting

A wonderful place to stay. Lush green very well maintained area close to the river. Shady trees nearby especially near camp site4.Ample room between campers. The hosts Scott and Marg welcomed us to their land. Instructions were very clear and we had no trouble finding our way. All in all… fabulous!!

What is not to love about Scott’s place. We spent 5 great nights here and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants peace and tranquility with water views. Scott was a great host who went above and beyond to make his place one of the best places we have been to.

I’ve camped at Scotts Property many times, and Site 4 is definitely a favourite. It’s beautifully maintained and offers the kind of peaceful retreat that makes you feel a million miles away from life’s worries. A standout feature for me is the natural beauty — looking across the river to the untouched bushland is a view that seems unchanged for hundreds of years and gives you hope it’ll remain that way for hundreds more. It’s the kind of place that’s good for your soul.

Quiet river stay

Lovely spot on the river. After recent floods we didn’t actually stay on site 4, but Scott still looked after us and put us up on another site. We enjoyed the quiet location and river views.

Best Camp Ever

One of the best camping sites ever. The host(Scott) was very helpful and friendly. Gave in very handy tips and clear instructions. The site was very clean and tidy and had a very majestic view. Family enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Will definately revisit this site soon.

Perfect spot to relax and unwind

Wow! We absolutely loved this spot. We were lucky enough to score the place to ourselves but even if there were other campers you had plenty of space. Super easy to find and great access. No issues with our 20ft van. We were no. 1 campsite right on the river, a great mix of sunshine and tree shade with a shelter, sink, water and a fire pit. Easy access down to the river for our paddleboards. The river was still a little brown from the all the recent rain but that was no issue. It was perfectly calm for paddleboarding. They also have a canoe for use. And easy to fish off the bank. So much open grass space for the kids to run around and do their thing. Scott and Marg were so lovely, super accommodating and happy for a chat which was so nice but also left you to enjoy their beautiful property. A short 20 min drive to Port Mac or Wauchope if you needed anything. We didn’t want to leave and 100% will return. Thanks so much Scott and Marg for sharing your space!

We loved our stay at Rawdon Island. The property is stunning, the communication and direction were great. Highly recommend for anyone who is fully self contained. Purchasing some fire wood and sitting out by the fire for the evening under the stars was perfection.

Fantastic location on a working cattle farm and right next to the river. Sites are very well maintained with easy access and plenty of level ground to set up. Trees along the river provide ample shade. Excellent directions and contact with the host was easy. Perfect spot to escape for a quiet weekend.

What a stunning place. The lots are all huge as there are only four of them. Each right on the river. There was only one other couple staying whilst we were there and we’d just come from a full caravan park, such a contrast. Scott is a wonderful host. He offered firewood and was happy with the dogs off the lead as long as they were well behaved.

I recently camped at Site 4 and had an amazing weekend. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, making for a peaceful and relaxing stay. There were fish and crabs to be caught, which added to the fun. The campground host is incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to a great experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing break.

Very pretty, quiet spot on the river with easy access. A great place for us as novice caravan owners to camp off grid and to pop into town for a few things that we needed. Enjoyed exploring Port Macquarie and the dog friendly beaches. Highly recommend!

Rawdon island is a lovely part of the country, you never knew you needed to visit. Nice flat grassy areas right on the rivers edge. Site 1 was large and very spacious. The camp kitchen was a nice luxury to have when hosting friends for dinner. Thank you Scott for accomodating us and for sharing this hidden gem. There’s firewood available for purchase, which made campfires hassle-free. It’s also dog-friendly, so our dogs had a blast. The fishing and swimming spots were fantastic and we caught a few good fish. Definitely a great spot for a relaxing, outdoor getaway without being too far from Port Macquarie. Until next time

Great site plenty of privacy Scott is a true gentleman and looks after the land well. There is a stage at the far end of the property on 1 of the days there was a band playing / practicing which could be heard from the site (this was only during the afternoon) The water was very brown and muddy but there had been significant rains with recency so may be better after drier periods. Close enough to Wauchope and Port Macquarie which makes for good days out.
