Welcome to Goolabri, a peaceful country escape just 10 minutes from Canberra. Set on land that was once a golf course and surrounded by natural bushland, it’s the perfect place to slow down, breathe out, and enjoy a relaxed stay in nature. Camp near our dams, wander the nearby nature reserve, and wake up to the sounds of birds and the sight of kangaroos grazing nearby. It’s an easy, quiet getaway that still feels close to everything. Suitable for tents, campers, vans, and caravans, with good 2WD access. Small campfires are permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren’t in place. You’re welcome to collect dead wood from the old golf course area (please don’t collect from the nature reserve). No pets permitted. What to do nearby If you feel like a treat, the Little Sutton Bakehouse is a fantastic local bakery, and the Eagle Hawk Pub is just down the road with amazing meals. And when you want more adventure, everything Canberra has to offer is right there markets, galleries, wineries, walks, restaurants, and live music. Goolabri is also a perfect campground for anyone attending Canberra or local festivals and events, giving you a calm place to return to at the end of the day. If you’d like directions for the best bush walks and hidden spots around the property, just ask when you arrive.The Hidden Fairway offers a variety of sites to choose from. These events will not interfere with camping but can sometimes be loud until 11pm. If this is an issue for you please contact us prior to booking and check if an event is on. Please ring on arrival if it has been wet so we can find you a dry spot. The toilet block is the small green building amongst the pine trees. Please bring your own toilet paper.

Lots of space and location so close to Canberra is the biggest plus. Toilets on site are proper flushing and are a bonus. Plenty of wildlife to view as in birds, ducks and kangaroo’s . Wrong time of year for us as we couldn’t have a campfire but lots of small kindling about if you wandered around. Can stay till 12 noon before departure

This was perfect for us - nice and quiet and spacious. Don’t expect a golf course - I think that may have been decades ago - but it’s a great location minutes outside Canberra but feels like a million miles away.

The Hidden Fairway
We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon and found that we had the whole place to ourselves. We camped near the little lake with the water view and it was very relaxing. We had planned on doing heaps of stuff in Canberra but didn’t and just kicked back and enjoyed the serenity of it all. Ammenities were nice and clean also.

There isn’t any grass. The first photo is an old photo. I wouldn’t stay here again. Positive : There is a clean, flushing toilet.

Nice spot close to Nation's capital

This was a great space to stay whilst attending an New year's eve event at Goolabri! 5 minute walk to venue. Sites are plentiful and views of the dam very nice. Slightly tricky access through the gate if your caravan is large but doable. Would recommend for a peaceful stay close to Canberra.

The site had an amazing view over a cute, small lake. Sadly the toilets were filthy and not even a toilet brush was provided for one of the 2 stalls. When you ask any amount of money to reside on a site like this, you should at least keep the toilets clean and give people the chance to clean op after themselves.

The Hidden Fairway
This was my second time camping here, and I really enjoy this place. It’s very peaceful and ideal for a relaxing escape. The only drawbacks are that the toilet is quite far, there’s no drinking water available, and the road is very dusty. Firewood was not permitted during our stay, but we still had a great time overall. A lovely spot for those who come prepared and appreciate quiet, natural surroundings.

We parked up on the far side (south side) of the dam. It was a little more private and quiet. Found an amazing bakery close by called Little Sutton Bakehouse. Does great coffee and breakkie as well as pastries etc.

It was an awesome spot! So nice by the dam, very peaceful and the flushing toilet was a pleasant surprise! Beautiful wildlife and very spacious. Highly recommend it!

Relaxing in the bush

Camping at The Hidden Fairway was very relaxing. It is a lovely bush setting with dams. The flushing toilets made it even better. It would be great for first-time campers as it is not far from Canberra or Queanbeyan.

We camped at Goolabri as we were attending a show in the Wedgetail Pavilion and the camping was easy and good value. Toilets available, plenty of space ( not marked sites ) so reminded me of camping in my early years. I will camp there again, maybe even just to get away from everyone.

Second time we have stayed here, this time for the 19-twenty NYE gig. So much space to camp and an amazing venue for a gig. Overall a great experience.

Very nice spot just north of Canberra. Has a beautiful lagoon to camp around and flat areas suitable for campervans and caravans. It is far enough away from the highway to not have to worry about road noise

There was ample space for quite a few groups, and most were quite flat. Spots along the side of the dam were inviting but away from the water were bushy sites with more privacy. Flush toilets were a clean unisex arrangement and the walk up the the venue easy. We danced our way into 2026 at the NYE event but I would be happy to come back another time. Being a solo and self contained means it is on the expensive side for me, but if there was a discount for a couple of days that would help

Stone away to Canberra

The location is 15mins away from Canberra. We booked this spot after camping south, on our way back to Sydney but wanted to stop over to visit Canberra. The site was full of overnight campers that made the place so alive. The clear skies, stars and the bright moon was so lovely.

Perfect for a single night stay on our way back North. Not packed-out. Plenty of space. Calm and Quiet. Think we were lucky there was no event on at the main property. Zero campfire policy was a shame, but didn’t stop us from enjoying the stay. Bathrooms clean. Happy to recommend as a great short-stay option.

The place is easy to access and being closer to Canberra being a first time camper my apprehension was less as I knew I can come back anytime. Waking up to the kangaroos, ducks and Rabbits right next to the tent was an amazing experience. The toilets being nearby was a comfort.
