We are based in the mountains North West of Taree in NSW. Some may decide to visit because of the Famous Ellenborough Falls being on our door step. While others are seeking space, nature, a river side camping spot, a mountain bike focused holiday with the fam, or a cheap group stay right on the river. And others just simply LOVE this area and come back each year, and bring their dog! Guudji Yiigu Nyiirunang - Birpi for Welcome Everyone! while ... Teretulemast is an Estonian name, it means WELCOME. THE HISTORY OF OUR PLACE as we know it: The Biripi people were the original and will always be the landowners of this area. They spent their summers on the mountain, while their winters were beside the coast. We are told, this area was once a women's only area, where they would bath and give birth. We respect those past and present who took care of this land and lived amongst it. This is Biripi country. Sometime after this, some people took over the land, and then offered it to others. Then cut trees down to build with, and put cows on it for over 80 years.. then we were offered it! And here we are today.... US: We LOVE hosting people, as we literally LOVE sharing this place with others. It’s part of who we are, but also a huge part of our bigger picture, in getting people re connected with Nature, so much so, that they want to protect it. Plus it’s so damn pretty here, all year around! You Camp/Hipcamp has been a driving force as to why we have had so many guests find us, and ultimately stay with us (along with some help from our insta #teretulemastelands blogs & workaway/helpx). But if you are wondering why people would visit, I'll do my best to summarise: • 400 metre walk from our RIVER flat to the famous Ellenborough Falls (famous for being the longest consistent drop in the southern hemisphere - hows that for on the map?) • All sites have access to the river with a short walk, or a tiny walk. Most are sitting on the famous Ellenborough River. • The Penthouse spot of sites is our River Flat. With it's hot shower, 2 composting toilets (still fully off grid), outdoor bbq/kitchen, gas & combustion stove & bar in shed (with solar lighting & fridge). PLUS A MTB PUMP TRACK! ALL PART of what you get when you book it! • The Ellenborough river is gorgeous & fresh, so paddling, floating, swimming, drinking and generally lounging around in it, is welcomed! And the locals often hang out together at the falls (where there are even deeper water holes) and the local made famous The Rapids (8 min drive away). *we will show you once you get here! bYO drinks and floaties! • ALL sites can accommodate reasonably large groups, SERENITY and RIVER FLAT can cater to around 100 OR more if you wanted them to. 2 composting toilets on these sites. (so toilets will be the main limiting factor for a super large group). • We book out each site ‘exclusively’, so only you, your mates and family will be sleeping next to each other. Which is why we have a min rate, versus a per person rate. And why most sites include from 8 people up to 15 people within their min rate. Pretty awesome deal when you divide by that! • Many sites are 4x4 caravan friendly (need good approach and departure angles), and yes, you don’t need to reverse them in, you drive them through making them easy to stop, enjoy your space and get out again! • Local sites are a plenty, whether that is go for a walk to see the falls, OR it’s a rainy day and you take a 45 min trek deeper into the Gondwana belt, where the big trees live, the turquoise water begins, and the Koalas, and Greater Gliders still live (so long as we can keep those pesky loggers away). • Most of our sites have had their roads upgraded, but some like Between the Trees can be a little more ‘4x4’ only. So always ask us if unsure. • YES we allow you to bring your furry friends! 😊. (aka dog friendly stay) • YES we are perfect for the newbie Mountain Biker or those who like a speedy downhill (blue rated), as we also have a Flow Trail AND a pump track available (great for groms and codjers). NOTE: the pump track is only for those who book the River flat at this stage. Unless you're good at making friends with those staying there, bring a beer maybe.. and you can ask them if you can ride it? • Fire pits on most sites • FARM mornings are FREE – just ask us when you arrive! 😊. (cows, sometimes we are milking, goats, baby animals, chickens, a mini mule (Olaf), pigs & we have 4 can be noisy dogs upon arrival). Love some kids to help or just to pat a baby goat! • Need fire wood, or eggs, we sell so just ask. 😊. • Don’t have camping gear, well lucky you! We hire it already setup, so all you have to do is turn up and move in! Ask us for more information if this interests you. We want everyone to experience nature, and for most sites, you will go to sleep with the noise of the river passing you... most serene way to fall asleep EVA. Between the Trees is a fabulous spot for summer as it has great tree cover to keep your tent and campsite cool. It's also fabulous for your hanging tents, or your hammocks. Vehicle access: Dry weather it is still Recommended to have an AWD (Subaru or other SUV). In wet conditions a 4WD with AT tyres is recommended. What’s great about booking this spot: Super close to MTB FLOW TRAIL and • It’s cheap for a group of up to 8 (so two families of 4 or a few couples, or a large family) • You can park up to two 4x4’s on the site, and up to 3 tents, 2 large, 1 small. Or can be used for a roof top tent so long as you park car ‘not’ under low tree. • It’s a super short walk down to the river, but you are not ON the river, but you will hear it as you go to sleep! • Easy to get to the famous Ellenborough falls by foot, or by vehicle. • Private spot just for you and your furry friends. • Great base to see much more of the area! Negatives: if wet is slippery and access may be difficult (or you can leave car very short walk to and walk your goodies up). NO caravans on this spot, but camper trailers yes. Shared toilet a reasonable walk away. TIP: byo toilet.

Negatives: its a short one way road down to the river flat, and can get slippery, especially when towing large 4x4 caravans/trailers. So 4x4 always best, but we have had camper vans and other non 4x4 vehicles down there in the dry and get out without any real issue. But the corners are tight and steep, so just to be prepared. Skilled caravan drivers with good breaking systems a must! NOTE: for larger groups it will add more $ as you book it, and for music, off grid, sustainable festivals to book the entire place out may be required to run it to ensure you have enough parking & camping areas to cover your guests. Serenity is our largest site. With 2 composting toilets and a hot shower on the way. It’s ex cattle farming plot, and is under rehabilitation works currently to improve it’s tree cover and create a new forest where one was over 80 years ago. Enough about what we are doing.. lets get back to why you should stay! What Serenity offers: • 2 composting toilets (walk up hill or drive, you decide) • So much easy access to the famous Ellenborough River (right where you camp) • Loads of room for outdoor sports, lots of flat ground • Lots of room for many 4x4 caravans, camper trailers, gazebos… huge cleared area to camp on. • Beautiful views, morning and afternoon especially. • Private water front areas (exclusively to your group) – great for hammock setup or picnic spots beside the water, nudey swims (hahaha, you know it) • Privacy for large or small groups • MTB Flow trail access as part of your package (ask for more information as it’s an 800 metre walk from your site). BYO bike, helmets and bandaids. *note: any insurance is super limited, so take care please. What is Serenity great for: • Birthday festivals • Large festival sites • Large functions • Band nights • 4x4 groups • Adventure groups • Yoga groups • Fathers weekends away • Mountain bike get togethers • Individuals looking to escape, and be the only ones in the river! • ESCAPING city life • A base for all the amazing water fall exploring around the area, hiking & Gondwana rainforest exploration Negatives: If wet, can be a little tough to get out. New road is in, and we have seen skilled 4x4 drivers drive caravans out of the site in the wet. But you do need to keep the speed up the hill so if in doubt, just ask us. But so far, in the dry, most get in and out. 4x4 definitely needed to get out if wet. So if you do take your standard car down there, if it even looks like rain, drive it up to the gate or back to the road to be safe. 😊. We have seen this area FLOOD in the huge floods of 2020 (hence why toilet block was built on the hill). So to be safe, always camp higher side of the flat, actually closest to the river (sounds counter intuitive). So if you get a big downfall, you are not where the water will pool. 😊 Remember you are camping, this is nature! PRICE INCLUDES UP TO 8 PEOPLE!   RV site overlooks our large dam @ Site Serenity.  It's right next door to our stock yards, and easy access from the road (can get a little squishy in wet but being on top of the ridge helps keep it all year around access).  No flooding here!  Great for last minute campers, RV's, Camper Vans... (caravans IF you have a 4x4 to get it in and out) you get the gist!  Walk to composting toilet; walk to river for a swim or a river crisp wash (ask if you are unsure how to get to river as it's downhill past toilet block).  Walk or drive to Ellenborough falls; kiosk, ride bikes to Rapids (off rapids road) or add an extra and use our new flow trail, take a drive to Potaroo falls, go check out the Maze at Comboyne/Wauchope & a wine, go for a walk to Rowleys rock (where the big trees live).  Or JUST kick back and enjoy the view!   YES by booking this you can access the flow trail! :). Happy Riding! NOTE: site is exposed, so may be windy or hot or really cold!  Be prepared, 4 seasons in one day!  So best for caravans, tents can take a beating on a bad day (often people position their cars around their tents if they do experience this). Soon we will have shower too for you!  Our cheapest site, as it's on a ridge (short walk down to river), so better for those short stays!  Or travelling through.  *if need a hot shower desperately ask us when you get here, in case it's not up and running by time your booking comes up!

We really enjoyed our 5 days at the RV camp, we'd definitely come back. We had fun excursions, driving out to Rowley Rock lookout, Blue knob lookout and of course Ellenborough Falls. The dirt roads were well graded. We had some really hot days and it was lovely to cool down in the creek. The outdoor shower with hot and cold water was basic but it was really good and my wife is asking me to install one at home. The composting toilets where totally fine. We camped in tents and it was a little exposed but we were lucky with weather. The scenery was beautiful and the cows in the field next to us kept the kids entered when they weren't playing in the stock yard. Having the site to ourselves was really nice. Thanks to Lucas and his family for having us.

The River Flat is such a great spot for large groups. We had six families with dogs spread across the site, and couldn't have asked for more. Toilets, shower, and the hut is perfect for storing supplies, cooking, and a quiet retreat for kids in the mornings. The fridge/freezer was an unexpected bonus, too, with enough space for the basics (definitely supported by eskies though). Creek was cool and perfect for exploring on the hot days, and we were lucky to have zero leeches and mozzies, and only a few small bush ticks across the whole group. Plenty to do within ~10 mins drive, too, with the Ellenborough Falls and Rhythm Rapids. Or just play cricket on site while the sun goes down, before watching a blanket of stars and satellites beside the fire at night. Lucas was a super helpful host, too, and gave us a great tip for a local chef - Effie - who prepared and delivered an awesome vegan spread for a special birthday celebration. Honestly couldn't fault the spot, and would love to come back with the family.

A beautiful, private site on a flowing creek and all the amenities. We were a gathering of 63 people and had the most amazing 5 day get away. Highly recommended. Lucas even came out and greeted us in the pouring rain.

The RV site was larger than we expected, with enough room for more than a couple of vans as long as you have ramps etc to level things. The amenities were great, with the shower build coming along nicely. Don't be afraid to ask if the sawdust for the composting loo runs low. The views are great and not much traffic even though it's the only road. The star and satellite watching is magnificent with so little light pollution.

Loved the Serenity campsite! We had it all to ourselves. Refreshing swim at the river and only a short walk from the campsite. Gets a bit windy so make sure to peg your tents! We will visit again.

Its a beautiful shady spot on top of a hill, great for tents and hanging out. just a short walk down to the river. Lucas the host is easy going and friendly. he even embraced the heavy rain to point us in the right direction.

Great spot for groups! Heaps of open space for your crew right near the river to cool off. We had our dog with us and he loved it too. Very quiet, secluded, private, not crowded at all, exactly what we look for in hip camps. Great sunset views from up at the loo. Lucas organised some firewood for us which is super convenient to have it waiting for us. Will definitely be back!

This was the perfect place to spent a long weekend celebrating my 40th birthday. We camped on the Riverflat area, which was a large, beautiful site, big enough to host a large group and easy access to the river for a cool swim. Kids and adults loved it and the location made for an awesome weekend of celebration. The hosts were amazing and very welcoming. They were able to meet all requests made with no hassle. I'd highly recommend. We will be back.

We had a lovely time at this campsite and felt relaxed as we listened to the Bell Birds. It is a short walk down the hill to the toilets. Ellenborough falls close by was definitely a highlight. We even left with some venison sausages which we are excited to try in the smoker.

This was our second time at Elands Teretulemast and it was just as great as the first time we went. The site is super private and extremely well kept, the river is beautiful, and the nearby waterfall is a lovely day adventure. Would definitely recommend this site!

We really enjoyed our stay! Super easy to access just make sure you have the maps going before you lose reception (some of us had some reception at the site). When we first arrived we were worried about the lack of trees in the actual site (they have painted some that will eventually grow) but because of the location we had a really nice breeze even though the sun was out the whole time. The toilets also seemed like a hike at first but we all actually enjoyed the bathroom trips. Beautiful view from them especially at sunset. Toilets were clean and nice. Creek accesses are lovely. We wish we realised the gate to the left was a nicer spot to sit in the shade. The water was quite shallow when we visited, nice to sit in and relax but couldn't really float around as it was pretty rocky. Good communication with the hosts, we didn't see them on our stay but we didn't need to as it was all very self sufficient. One recommendation, a permanent wooden long table to prep food and hang around would be a nice added extra bonus.

We stayed "between the trees" in our camper - awesome views, nice breezes and private. We heard about the mtb flow track, and had a go with our kids- absolutely loved it and did numerous runs. It could do with a slight trim of the vegetation, but its well built and lots of fun. Close to Ellenborough Falls-which is great for a morning outing and a swim. The property is steep so take this into consideration when booking- only for getting to and from your site, and the roads in are dirt, and hilly but that's part of thr adventure and what makes this place so special and private.

Great views over the valley from the RV site. Lovely cool breezes kept us cool and the fireplace was perfect for the nights. The flow trail was quite overgrown butmade the climb fun and the leaf litter and bark on the trail made the descent fun skidding on it into the awesome bermed corners. We rode the trail many times during our visit. RV site is a brief walk to composting toilets that have a great view over the valley. We had a great visit.

Overall the site was beautiful and private with lots of bird life. The free shower and toilet facilities were great as well. The host greeted us a few hours after arriving to make sure we had settled in okay and checked if we needed anything. Otherwise we were left alone to enjoy the surroundings and peace. While we were okay with the ~100m hike to the shared facilities instead of hiring a toilet, unfortunately the walking trail linking the site to the facilities was overgrown and had thorn vines, making it a ~500m hike along the 4wd trails. We were also unable to find a clear access path to the creek, I believe I eventually found it but that too was an overgrown trail. I also agree with the host statement to bring antihistamines and I recommend you start taking them a day or two beforehand to preload your body. With a hire toilet, antihistamines and a fire roaring at this site you would have a pretty good time. Trails/access paths just need a little TLC.
