Small private farm with rural outlook, bamboo plantation, fruit trees and small bush to explore. 7 minutes from Beaches, 3 minutes from new boat ramp, and 15 minutes from a major town. Dog friendly (we have free range chickens so they may have to stay on a lead). No amenities so guests must be fully self-contained. A Jetty and river swimming spot is located just 2km away (quiet walk or bike ride). The Bohnock boat ramp (new) is just 3 km away. Contained campfires permitted depending on the season, generally not permitted in the summer months. Please ask in advance. We have limited spots so it feels like you have the place to yourself. Quiet location close to the front gate. No bathroom (toilet or shower) facilities. Access to water tap adjacent the site. Nearest dump point is in Taree, 15 min away, no onsite blackwater disposal allowed.

This spot is on the grassy area on your right as you head up the driveway. Near “The Orchid” Follow the mango trees on the right of the driveway. once past them you will see a massive gum tree. Turn right here and find a nice spot to park. (head back down towards the front of the property if you need to.

Located across the fence from some of the best cattle on the coast. Rural outlook, peaceful location. Best site for larger groups. No Bathroom facilities. Access to water tap located on the property (water is available for use while you on the property but not to fill your van for the trip). Nearest dump point is in Taree, 15 min away, no onsite blackwater disposal allowed.  Kids stay free!

This spot is on the grassy area on your right as you head up the driveway. Near “The Orchid” Come up the driveway and pull over on your right when you see some space. On the way out if you need to, drive up to the gravel turning circle near the house or turn when you can. Feel free to use the fire pit provided on the existing fire spots. Please not on just the grass.

The Overnighter
Excellent spot to put up a tent on the trip north. 10 mins from Old Bar which has everything you need to survive in the 21st. The campsite is cool, old bamboo farm, very unique place to spend the night. The bamboo has a lot to say, I listened and it was enlightening. I didn't know bamboo felt that way. Phil seems cool and was very friendly and helpful. Good stop.

Site 1 - Bamboo Paradise (no toilet/shower)
Lovely flat area surrounded by bamboo clumps. There were a few areas to pick was happy we actually took site 2. It was very humid/hot weather and mozzies were ferocious. Take repellant and coils. The other sites deeper into bamboo clumps had mozzies you could saddle. HA HA. But the place was quiet and Phil had prepared area ready for our arrival and we filled caravan water tanks on entry. No hose hook up. Internet very patchy throughout the area. Close to beaches and creeks/estuaries for fishing. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Great level site! Very pet friendly hosts too. Thank you for such a great stay as we had a great time heading to the beach at Old Bar and day tripping to different places around. Highly recommended Phil and his lovely family as hosts. Was awesome too to be able to get water on-site and the Rotary Park in Taree isn't too far for Sanitary Dump Point

Perfect for our family. 5 mins from good fishing spots and 10mins to the beach, couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

Nice spot to park up to explore Old Bar /Manning Point . Good fishing spot not far away . Within driving distance to Ellenborough Falls .Very private site ,friendly host and Jessie the lab came to visit each day .

Was basic but what you need for an overnight stay. Grass was green and flat and the kids loved feeding baby cow in the morning owners were great. A fire pit would have been nice but did not ask if they had one. Would definitely stay again

Very interesting island that’s easy to reach. The beach at Old Bar was lovely and had a great community/local vibe. The orchard campground was open and spacious, perfect for stargazing. We might have just been unlucky, but the neighbour was doing things with his trucks in the night.

Really enjoyed this camp site. Level sites. Peaceful and quiet. Phil the host was exceptional. Directions were easy to follow. The bamboo sites were fantastic. Will return most certainly.

Really good spot, it was raining the whole week before we were booked in, the bamboo section was too wet but the orchid section perfect with no sogginess at all, drove the prado and boat over multiple times with zero worry. Great spot.

Bamboo paradise was perfect for us. Easy access, very private and great location. Lots of great beaches nearby, all dog friendly. Great shady spot for our set up, kids and dog very happy.

Beautiful spot for your holidays, its very spacious and the bamboo shades enough of the area. It´s really quiet and a good place to watch the stars at night. Old Bar is only 10 minutes away witch shops and beaches. The river is even closer.

Was a pleasant stay, we actually had an awesome sleep in. The drive in was hairy, the bridge omg, then no signs and a tight squeeze for us to enter the driveway. A good spot despite the constant flies and bugs. We parked up on a level grassy site, with water connection that I was grateful no snakes jumped out at me. Maybe cut the grass near the tap and a sign so people know where you are. 🙂 At the end of the day was a pleasant stay. It was just overnight. We slept well. 😴 Thanks for having us.

Perfect piece of land to pop the tent on and Phil left us out a little fire pit so we could keep warm. Such a perfect spot, perfect weather and Phil is an incredible host who greeted us in the morning and made us feel so welcome

Bamboo Paradise (no toilet/shower)
A hidden gem! Bamboo paradise it is. The sound of the bamboo swaying and touching in the wind made for a tranquil and serene atmosphere. Phil and his wife were very welcoming and lovely people. Really loved our stay and will be returning again. Thank you Phil for sharing your bit of paradise 😊

It is an amazing and quiet place to stay. The Host and family are extremely welcoming. Kids really love the sheep, goats and cows that roam free on the property. Love staying here. Will definitely return.

Very friendly host and exactly what you expect from the description. We arrived fairly late and Phil came out to help show us to our spot (though it's very easy to find). Very accommodating hosts and would definitely stay again next time I'm passing through and need a place to stay. Bonus was being greeted by some friendly Goats and Alpacas in the morning.

We enjoyed our stay. Great private flat site. Great wildlife and 10 minutes to a lovely beach. No traffic noise which is lovely when you camp on the coast.

Phil's slice of bamboo paradise was fantastic. Very relaxing, we even added an extra night. We had plenty of room and privacy. The river was a real treat and town is 10 minutes away. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great day at Bamboo Paradise! It is a beautiful site with good privacy in the bamboo forest. Property is a convenient location close to town. Phil was a very helpful host and gave us some good tips of local attractions. Would recommend!

Phil is a wonderful host. He is keen to give everyone the best experience possible on his property. Considerate and compassionate and truely helpful. We had a huge downpour during our trip and we truely felt their concern for us. A beautiful property with wonderful hosts. I definitely recommend you try them out.
