Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
The property is located 3kms from the small town of Bodalla, it is just over 100 acres sitting on the banks of Lake Borang (which flows into the Tuross River and Tuross Lake) and the fishing is great all year round. It's also a fantastic waterway for boating and paddling. The property is mainly bush with lots of wildlife including emus, wallabies, kangaroos and the birdlife is abundant. Part of the property is a working goat and bee farm. We move the goats around the property so there will be times when the goats are close to the campsite.Pitch your tent or set up your camper trailer under the gorgeous spotted gums not far from the edge of Borang Lake. The campsite is surrounded by bush and you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. There is a dam close by so feel free to have a plunge if you are game and the lake is about a 3 minute walk away, so make sure you pack your swimmers. Bring your floatation gear, kayaks, stand up paddleboards or just have a leisurely swim in the lake.   We offer only one campsite for family sized groups to ensure you have full privacy for your group. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. You must have your own amenities. Due to the recent rains we recommend 4WDs to access the campsite, and 4WD camper trailers are ok too. This is a great spot for a coastal getaway, we're located a short drive from the cute town of Bodalla or you can adventure further afield north to Moruya and south to the turquoise waters of Narooma. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Easter stay 2024
A great stay over Easter 2024. Weather was perfect, with many bellbirds, whipbirds, Kookaburras and many others. A quiet and peaceful spot. A clean and functional campsite. The lake 400m away was great for canoeing and SUP excursions. Loved it and will be back.

Spotted Gum Hill
Peaceful and private
Spotted gum hill is a private and peaceful campsite. We had a nice 4 night stay and particularly enjoyed the bird life. We kayaked, fished and swam in nearby Lake Borang, a 400m walk (one way) from the campsite. The campsite is a clearing in the bush and access is relatively easy, particularly with the clear instructions from Melanie. There is a drum for a campfire and plenty of kindling near the campsite.

Spotted Gum Hill
Really private, just a clearing in the middle of the bush. It was very peaceful! We saw kangaroos on the way in but nothing else although I'm sure more animals were around! I was very surprised do have great reception (vodafone). Of the three dirt roads in, the first two were very easy towing and the third wasn't bad but wasn't great.
