Cedar Ridge offers a peaceful camping spot close to Parkes with excellent amenities like a pool table, table tennis, and clean facilities. Guests appreciate the friendly host, Darrin, and his delightful dogs, making the stay comfortable and welcoming. However, some campers have experienced issues with cleanliness, gate codes, and host communication, which can impact the overall experience. Despite this, many find the location ideal for a relaxing stopover with beautiful views and easy access to town.
Lovely place, the shed available for us to use was magnificent, lovely bathroom as well.
Only downside about this camp was the dogs peeing all over our campsite and van
This was our first ever hipcamp stay and we were excited. The reviews were great and the promo photos showed a well looked after camp site.
What we got was completely different. After a along drive the first thing everyone wants to do is go to the bathroom. My wife wouldn’t use the toilet until she cleaned all the piss stains of the seat. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned at all with someone’s bathroom products left in the shower & a dirty bath towel & face washer left on the rail. Couldn’t use the outdoor chairs because of all the bird shit on them & bird shit all around the concrete out door area. The outdoor furniture was either covered in muddy children’s foot prints or paint from a child’s painting session. The main kitchen area had not been swept & the kitchen garbage bin or any of the outdoor garbage bins had not been emptied. The grassed areas were overgrown & weed infested. We wanted to use the fire pit but couldn’t due to the crap left on top of fire pit, the outdoor furniture was left in a heap on the ground & with the overgrown grass & weeds around the fire pit it wasn’t very inviting. Didn’t realise I had to take my own axe to split the fire wood. The electricity was not turned on when we arrived & had to locate the switch board to sort that problem. Didn’t receive an email with the main gate code & were locked in one morning after the owners went to work.
It’s a great idea I think but we were deeply disappointed in what we received.
Great location with views of surrounding farmlands and good facilities.
No code was given for the gate leaving me stranded on the driveway for some time, but this was resolved
The site was close to Parkes but nice and quiet, with a view to the hills, and with excellent amenities - my son and I played table tennis and pool, and the bathroom and whole place was clean and tidy. Darrin was a welcoming host and the small dog was friendly but not annoying.
We highly recommend this spot! Beautiful property only minutes to town. Very easy and comfortable, the amenities are above and beyond. We had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable stay. Darrin and his family are very lovely and hospitable and their dogs are very friendly. Make sure you visit their cafe in town, the Roasted Kombi, it’s excellent!
Ceder Ridge was a nice spot. Tidy, spacious, great views and close to town. Rec space is tidy and entertaining. Though the pool table cues Nehemiah tips replaced.
Not impressed with the following. Zero contact with the host. Didn’t know if we had an allocated spot or if it was a free for all. Sent messages, but had no reply. Biggest annoyance was the dogs. We love dogs, but one was constantly trying to mount our dog (luckily he is not aggressive), and the other lying under the van and car wheels. Barking at random times throughout the night.

We requested a last minute booking to stay due to being rained out at our previous campsite. Darrin was prompt and friendly. The communal areas were outstanding and very warm. We loved spending time with the friendly dogs. The check in instructions were clear and the site was very quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay.
Amazing. Glamping not camping. Very comfortable shared space that we were very lucky to have to ourselves. Lovely to have warm aircon on an unexpectedly freezing cold night. Boys loved the pool table and tennis table. Adults loved the warm shower and en suite. Lovely leather couches. Make sure you get a coffee and bite to eat at the Roasted Kombi in town as well.
This hipcamp was fantastic, it has everything you need. Darrin was a great host and the camp is only 5 mins out of parkes. Will definitely be going back!
Great place if it’s very hot or cold with a nice air conditioned cabin for us to use with sofas, pool and table tennis, perfect for kids or teenagers to play in. There were chickens, horses over the fence, sheep and the adorable Penny the dog who was happy to snuggle at any moment. The sites also have beautiful views over the valley. Also only 4 minutes from the excellent aviation museum and a few minutes more to town.
Fantastic two night stay at Cedar Ridge. We had the place to ourselves.New clean amenities. Games room/camp kitchen. Close to all that Parkes has to offer. Great breakfast at the Roasted Combi Cafe. Thank you Darrin. Hope to return again soon.!
We contacted host as we needed an over night stay on our travels. Hosts were lovely when we arrived & the spot was amazing. Unfortunately we could only stay 1 night but we all wanted to stay more. Kids have already asked if we are going back there. When we left we stopped & got coffee's from their coffee shop which also tasted fantastic. Would highly recommend in staying here.
