If you’re after a bush camp that makes you feel like your in the middle of nowhere but still close this is it, so peaceful and quiet, great spot highly recommend, the view from the deck was unreal down the river, plenty of wood around to cut up, I recommend bringing ramps if your in a roof top tent to level your car out, overall I’ll be back, Maryanne was nice and accommodating 👍🏻

Stunning River access and peaceful surroundings. Bring plenty of levelling as no real level ground. This is a true Aussie bushcamp experience and a 4x4 is essential.

We loved our stay at Blicks River Camp! Perfect if you’re looking for a bush experience on a picturesque river. Hosts where very accommodating. Be prepared - Road in and out of the camp was slippery in the wet and rough. Overall it was a great stay!!

Blicks River Camping - Site 4

Great spot close to the water, only people you will see if the other campers. It’s not designated camp spots though, so first in best dressed. No views of the river unless you snag the spot with the deck. We had this spot and it was beautiful, but would have been disappointed if we didn’t get it. Toilet is great! River was beautiful and host was accommodating and lovely.

Perfect, secluded private camp spot. Highly recommend for nature lovers looking for a down to earth camp out. Platypus spotting and white water canoeing a highlight. It was great to have unlimited fire wood supplied.

The river makes this a very special place, whether you want to paddle in the stony pools, swim laps or just sit on the banks and observe the abundant wildlife including black cockatoos, tiny wrens, turtles, goannas, dragonflies and butterflies. The perfect place to take time out from the modern world and recharge.

Great spot with great sites but once arrived that HipCamp allowed them to accidentally overbook and so the best spot we could find still available was not flat at all so bring some kind of levellers if you’re able. Great swimming spot too

I am reticent to provide another review because this little slice of paradise is so perfect that I’d love to keep it for ourselves…but truly, Maryanne’s property is absolutely pristine! The perfect escape from life, surrounded by birdsong and the creek bubbling through the day and night. We loved paddling in the rapids with our dog, reading by the creek and cooking over the campfire. We will be back for third, fourth and more visits. We adore it

Nice river but access and sloping terrain make it mostly unsuitable for vans except for off road small vans. The whole area needs more vegetation maintenance. River access is not easy and path needs improvement or additional access points. Large number of trees and slope make setting up vans difficult. Drop toilet is very basic but acceptable.

Maryanne is a lovely host, friendly and welcoming. There were few level spots to camp up with our little camper which has minimal leveling aides but we found a spot not too far from the water and toilet. The toilet was tidy & the creek refreshing. The place was not crowded which was also nice.

Quite disappointed in our stay, we ended up leaving a night early. Did not look like the photos that are shown on Hipcamp. No signage or allocated camp sites, had to ask other campers to even find the entrance to the river which we told by owner we would be camping along side off but definitely wasn’t the case at all. Very long overgrown grass , just felt very uncomfortable to be there in its current state. Definitely has a lot of potential if the right work went into tidying up the place and proper allocated camp sites instead of a free for all.

Loo with a view!

We had a wonderful stay. Maryanne was a wonderful host. The drop toilet has a great view and we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. The kids (big & small) loved the swimming hole and rock hopping down the river. Love that they allow pets. Our 3 dogs had an amazing time and are now very very tired

Quiet and peaceful weekend away with family. The kids enjoyed the river (although it was a bit cold!) and we had great campfires at night. We towed our 20' semi-off road caravan in without any problems. No phone service but that was okay. It was great to get away from it all! Thanks Maryanne!!

Maryanne’s property is absolute blissful haven. Perfect place to be, to get away from the city and experience the bush. The creek is freezing but perfect place to be to wind down on a sunny day. Amazing host, Maryanne. Gave perfect and easy directions. Absolutely no way appropriate for 2WD, perfect for 4WD vehicles

Camping with the platypuses

Stunning campsite! Very secluded and a nice little track driving through some gully’s to get in. The river was so nice and the platypuses we amazing to see. We thought we would see maybe just one if we were lucky but there must have been about 10 swimming around the place. And I have to mention the toilet, it doesn’t look like much but it was one of the comfiest, cleanest bush toilets I’ve seen. I know this sounds weird but the toilet was a highlight. Overall highly recommend! Make sure you spend a few days to explore national parks, and go swimming in the river ☺️

What an amazing spot!! Beautiful swimming spots along the river, and great camping areas, lots of flat sections and an awesome deck to take in the views. Maryanne was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again!!

Awesome site right on the Blicks River. Host Maryanne was very welcoming and couldn’t be anymore helpful. It was 1 of only 2 camp sites. Both are secluded and private, with excellent viewing opportunities of platypus in the river. There is ample firewood available for burning a warm fire. Would come again and recommend this to couples or small families. 4wd needed for access..

We absolutely adored our stay. Private, secluded, picturesque and beautiful walks to the falls outside of the property. We soaked up every minute with the roaring rapids and bird song playing background playlist for a weekend off grid. Cooking over the fire with the plentiful supply of wood from Maryanne, swims in the ice cold rapids, a rose scented (!!) drop loo - what could be better! We adored it and hope to return some day!
