It was a perfect place, full of greenery, secluded and cosy. The deck and the fireplace was awesome. Will come back again.
Set out was nice a beautiful deck plenty of room
Kitchen was equipped enough and generaly clean as advised by other reviewers there was a bit of mould and the roof was leaking into a corner
We took our own linen and towels to be prepared
No issues really it a beautiful spot with no one around and surrounded by nature

We loved this property and were sad to leave.
It was extremely peaceful surrounded by beautiful rainforest and the sounds of birds and the flowing creek. The host has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into setting up the property and everything we needed was there including plenty of firewood. We can't wait to come back and stay again.
The outdoor area was lovely but the cabins are in desperate need of some work. The bedrooms had no curtains or lampshades and the painting was half finished. The oven was screwed shut which was very disappointing. One of the external doors could not be locked. Such a shame as this could be such a lovely place. Good to have hot water, towels, bedding and firewood provided. Good communication from host.

Bird Call was a great little get away in the forest. Lots of room for a group and reasonabley clean for a house in the middle of a forest. Expect the usual wildlife and insects.
I well appointed kitchen and fire place made it a lovely spot to escape away too.
Bird call has an amazing old firsty cabin vibe to it. The location and the drive there were great!
I loved the outdoor and indoor fireplaces!
There is a huge downside to this place tho!
The cabin was too old and it needs a lot of work to it. There's a lot of holes in the walls(bugs and spiders are you house mates), broken beds, none of the doors close, bathrooms have no locks and dead and alive bugs all over the beds.
The place was fantastic, well equipped and exactly as described. A beautiful location, with all the space you could need, a lovely big outdoor fireplace and birds singing in the morning. We’ve told all our friends

Abit run down but for a few nights it’s beautiful and has most things you’d need.
Andy's place is beautiful, peaceful and very rustic. We loved the out door fire place surrounded by bush it was definatley the high light of our stay! Very private and cozy. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful property, although we didn’t see much, we heard a good amount of birds. Amenities were clean and usable (except for the microwave which we couldn’t get to work), nice and private. Only downfall (and not the owners fault) are the leeches so be prepared.

This is a suitable venue for a group with its two cabins joined by a large cover deck area - good for gatherings. In our opinion it's not really suitable for a couple. The kitchen in the larger cottage was very well equipped. We were disappointed there was no bbq as listed on the site. There were lovely hot showers. The bed was comfortable but bedrooms were furnished with only a bed or beds and nowhere to put our possessions. The furniture was well used but reasonably comfortable. We had to drive to do walks or other activity in the area. We only used the larger cabin and it was presented tidy. Some timber was provided for the inside fireplace which we enjoyed each evening.

Very private place to stay. Not everyone’s cup of tea. Was quite wet only due to weather.
What a great piece of paradise away from the crowds. We stayed here at Easter and it was perfect for us. Such a big place to spread your wings. It is very rustic, and there was a few little huntsman’s around, but they are more afraid of you. Highly recommend a 4wd if you want to park at the steps of the house to unload your gear. Wear bug spray too, we encountered a couple of leeches in the front yard. Again harmless if you are prepared. Hanging out by the fire playing chess and drinking wine was very romantic. We love camping generally and this was glamping at its finest! So close to Minyon falls (10 min drive) and all the towns were about 25 min drive away.

Bird Call was as advertised and we really enjoyed our stay but it won’t be for everyone.
It was like camping without having to put up and pack down a tent.
Kitchen and showers were great, bed comfy and the deck area a great space.
Being from North Queensland the house reminded us of an old place you would find on a cane farm but some might find it a little too rustic.
Birds were abundant!!!!

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend away. Andy was so accommodating when I asked him for a special request. We have already booked a second stay in 2 weeks time.
Beautiful spot truly hidden in the rainforest. The outdoor deck space is absolutely amazing and the conveniences inside are fantastic. It's simple and rustic but you can't beat the serenity.

Absolutely beautiful place, the outdoor area is great, lots of different areas to relax in and listen to the forest. Beds are comfy and they have everything you need for a great stay. We went down to the creek nearby as well which is nice for a swim. Would definitely recommend!

Is an amazing place! We enjoy every second, was a special experience, WE FIND A KOALA! We also feel like at home. Beautiful.
A stay at Bird Call is a way to disconnect and get back to basics. With simple amenities, the feature is the large deck with room for relaxing and listening to the birds. The outdoor fireplace is a treat and is what made our stay special. Secluded and private, it's a great getaway if you're okay with a spot that isn't glitz and glamour. The host, Andy, was very lovely and welcoming and made it easy.

Giant deck area is just stunning. Perfect step up from glamping in winter. Two fires; one inside of main cabin and a beautiful one out on the deck. Owner supplied us with 3 washing baskets of chopped firewood for our 3 night stay. Much appreciated.
Accommodation is as stated; basic and rustic. Very clean. No working oven or TV, which I may have assumed would be there. Must be okay with the resident huntsman spiders.
Located near the beautiful Minyon Falls. Very windy roads to get anywhere, so although close in distance, does take more time. Allow at least a couple of days to go nowhere, just stay and enjoy the serenity at Bird Call (google Wonga Pigeon and see if you can handle their call 😉).
You're definitely not bothered by the owners. You're on your own (even when we had a blackout with no reception, I drove to get in touch and still didnt hear from them) in a stunning rainforest like setting. Wifi is available with power.
Take all of your rubbish with you. No bins.
Think of a step up from glamping with the best deck area and fires in the most beautiful location. We were 3 people. Best place for 8 to come together. We were happy we bought our comfy camp chairs, as only one two seater comfy couch in front of outdoor fire and 2 lounge seats inside.

The place was magical, we had a lovely quiet night. Thank you!
The house was very mouldy, it is in a rainforest so I understand the difficulty in keeping it mould free but 3 of the 8 pillows were extremely mouldy and luckily we saw before we slept on them. The lounges inside were all mouldy and a cupboard in one of the bedrooms was mouldy too. The outside is a great place to sit and take in the location around the fire but it rained the time we were there and the fire couldn't keep up with the chill factor so we went inside. The fire was well stocked and the house and is well stocked with toilet paper to spray oil and coffee etc. Not sure about the birds we heard a few but someone nearby was using machinery until late then again at 6am the following morning so I think we got a bad day to experience this quiet location. If it wasn't for the mould I would stay again. It is a bit of a drive on narrow roads and only around the corner from minyon falls which is a great place to visit.

We spent 3 nights in this cozy little place. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms were well stocked with the necessary items for comfortable living. Including plenty of clean towels, blankets, etc. Andy left wood, fire lighters, lighters and newspapers for the outdoor fireplace which was a treat.
The kitchen included plenty of silverware, plates, cutlery, etc. and some extras like spray oil, alfoil and a pie maker (I had a giggle at that one).
I would just add that if you are someone who is scared of dust, spiders or “germs” this is not your place to be. This is what I would call a farm house, it includes room mates in the form of daddy long legs and bugs coming in and out. You can tell it’s an old building being renovated/refurbished bit by bit and it makes it unconventional.
Basically, we had a fabulous time and enjoyed the atmosphere. Just maybe don’t bring your city-living people along as they may not be comfortable with the forest living.
The accomodation was comfortable and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to connect with nature and create lasting memories.

Bird call was absolutely beautiful! The setting was private and peaceful and the property had everything you needed from a well stocked fireplace to clean comfortably bedding. The massive undercover deck was the place to be and the garden and wildlife made it a perfect place for a relaxing getaway!
What a great spot to spend a rainy, misty afternoon and night by the fire. Loved the massive outdoor undercover deck. Lots of comfy nooks to take in the garden views and birdlife. Kitchen was well equipped and the kids loved the Easter eggs. Thanks Andy.
