Binghi Station is a rugged outback paradise located 4.5+hours from Brisbane or a 1.5-hour drive west of Tenterfield. Once a historic sheep station and a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800s to mid-1900s, this 4,000-acre property is defined by spectacular granite rock country and untouched tea tree bushlands. While the devastating 2019 bushfires altered the landscape, subsequent rainfall has breathed new life into the land, revealing a vibrant green terrain not seen since the 1980s. It is an endless playground for adventure. You can discover secret hideouts, swim in our refreshing creek water holes (if you are brave enough in winter!), and stargaze under a clear night sky packed with millions of stars. Vehicle Access; Important Information: 4WD & AWD Access: The property is designed for off-road enthusiasts. We strongly recommend 4x4 access, though AWD vehicles are acceptable provided they are not towing a trailer. The 6km entry driveway and internal tracks feature numerous drainage humps and a couple of hill climbs that require good traction—extra ground clearance is a bonus! All-Weather Driveway: The entry track is highly compacted. While it has a rough, authentic character, you will never get bogged, regardless of rainfall. Alternative for 2WD & Vehicles Towing Trailers: Standard 2WD vehicles (and AWDs towing trailers) are not suited for the tracks. However, you can still visit! We have a safe parking zone at the top of the driveway entry where you can leave your vehicle and hitch a ride down with a member of your group. Please allow an extra 20–30 minutes for the 4WD journey from the top gate down into the main property. The Zimmermann family sincerely looks forward to meeting you soon!

Shearing Shed Grounds offers a spacious, open camping area set comfortably back from the water, with plenty of room for caravans of any size. Sandy Falls is close by—just a five‑minute drive, an easy bike ride, or a short walk down to the base of the waterfall. The Secret Gorge is also within reach, only a 20‑minute walk or a quick 12‑minute drive from camp. The campground overlooks the site of a former heritage homestead, later converted into a now‑retired shearing shed. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views of distant mountain ranges once home to wild brumbies and early‑century tin‑mining ventures. At night, the untouched sky puts on a breathtaking display of stars—perfect for stargazing beside a crackling campfire.

Welcome to our quiet remote Gorge site booking. Designed for private family/friend group bookings in mind.  Pitch your swag, tent or camper-trailer in a picture perfect Gorge private hideaway or ask us for a glamping setup! With high Natural Gorge rock faces and lots of shady tree coverage from the midday sun you will honesty think you're in Kakadu but without the crocs of course!... It is truly an amazing refreshing swimming hole. Either relax reading a book or simply lay in the refreshing creek and watch your kids have great time and wear themselves out makes it all worthwhile. You will be truly amazed how peaceful and secluded you are from the busy stressful world.  We promote it as 4x4 access only mostly due to the "not so level driveway and tracks". The Gorge track is accessable for all size camper trailers. Great news we have removed a nuisance tree along the track to open it up to most caravans but perhaps not recommend large size lengths such as 17foot and above. Pls enquire further any questions. Dogs are welcome. Absolute pooch heaven! Leash free zone.  Great news this site is 100% exclusiveness to your booking. Monthly Latest update April 23: Site access requires non-SUV 4x4's. Must only be "proper" 4x4 with diff lock in-case of uncertain weather conditions. If you wish to ensure the Secret Gorge campsite is 100% all yours please reach out to us at your earliest so we can book you in and plan the greatest getaway ever! So let us help you RESET!! March/April 2026 - We are experiencing a very dry time everyone. Its still beautiful and unique in its own Australian bush way of course so don't let that dismay your thoughts. All we say is please expect the creek not to be flowing at times as its not always green just until nice rains come our way. We suggest if you would like to double check the current climate landscape so please contact us through Hip Camp and I will give you a live update on the current environment. If you will be towing a heavy camper trailer or caravan please ensure you your trailer brakes are working well. Due to the road being alittle light and dusty surface it always pays to be ontop of it. Happy to send any driveway pics. We look forward to meeting you all one day soon! Adrian & Oratai :-)

Sandy Falls is a beautiful, family-oriented campsite designed for group gatherings or intimate getaways, uniquely situated right above the picturesque and well-renowned Binghi Waterfall. Here, you will experience the raw, natural beauty of the Australian bush landscape. Relax in the late afternoon with a cold treat as the sun sets over the waterfall horizon, and wake up to the peaceful sound of morning birds. When you stay at Sandy Falls, you are right on the water's edge. The level ground makes this site absolutely perfect for caravans and campervans of all sizes. It is an unmatched experience to park your rig right next to your very own rockpool and granite, sand-filtered swimming hole, where you can easily wade in or dip your toes to cool off. With its stunning scenery, Sandy Falls serves as an award-winning photographic backdrop for your special holiday memories. Please note: Because our creek flow is completely weather-dependent, the waterfall may not always be running or at full capacity during dry spells. However, even during dry periods, the natural charm and raw beauty of the surrounding woodland remain truly spectacular. Psst! Don't forget to ask us about ordering an authentic, home-cooked Thai dinner, which we will personally deliver straight to your campsite! We can't wait to welcome you to the property soon. It has a large trampoline and a weber kettle BBQ (BYO charcoal) — Adrian and Oratai

Welcome to our Family special booking site. It is designed for parents with more than most kids. This is the campground area (not overlooking water). You can set up here and drive 5min, bike ride or walk to Sandy Falls or 15 min walk or 5min drive to The Secret Gorge. Its lovely and open with lots of friendly grazing roos free roaming sheep that your welcome to lend a hand each afternoon for the nights treats. Nestled overlooking a past heritage homestead that was turned into a discontinued shearing shed vs previous early era 11 siblings homestead. Great open camping spot. Great views overlooking distant mountains and natural raw bushland that once had many families of wild brumbies many moons ago. Breath-taking star gazing around a campfire.  Morning / afternoon sun perfect for the cooler months.  There is a regularly cleaned portable toilet on site aswell as a neat and tidy pit toilet. Exciting future plans in place. Planted on site over 50 years ago is 2 x spectacularly large Orange trees that just seem to bloom all year round. Great for nice shade cover and place to read a book.  This spot is great spot for letting your children free to roam and explore on there bikes, play on there remote control cars or large family friend groups that can stretch out and use it as a great base camp! Due to the site being booked in advance by our free roaming dorpa sheep unfortunately we discourage dogs in this zone that have the temperament to chase animals. So for the benefits of doubt kindly keep on leach for any uncertainty be greatly appreciated. Great news though for visiting the swim holes more than welcome to be leach free. As pet lovers ourselves please disclose your lovely furry friends so we can happily discuss there accommodation needs. :-) at the same time we are very pet friendly. For caravaners, camper trailers owners please understand that there is no (current) 100% level spots. It is a very slight hill rise but nothing like a chock will fix to bring your trailer level. We are always here willing to lend a helping hand. This camp site is designed for the families with multiple kids that we wish to accommodate at no extra price! One package deal! We look forward to meeting all the Troops!
