Binghi Station Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900. Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty. Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

This is the campground area (not overlooking water). You can set up here and drive 5min, bike ride or walk to Sandy Falls or 15 min walk or 5min drive to The Gorge.  Nestled overlooking a past heritage homestead that was turned into a discontinued shearing shed. Great open camping spot. Great views overlooking distant mountains and natural raw bushland that once had many families of wild brumbies many moons ago. Breath-taking star gazing around a campfire.  Morning / afternoon sun perfect for the cooler months.  There is a regularly cleaned portable toilet on site aswell as a neat and tidy pit toilet. Exciting future plans in place. Planted on site over 50 years ago is 2 x spectacularly large Orange trees that just seem to bloom all year round. Great for nice shade cover and place to read a book.  This spot is great spot for letting your children free to roam and explore on there bikes, play on there remote control cars or large family friend groups that can stretch out and use it as a great base camp! Due to the site being booked in advance by our free roaming dorpa sheep unfortunately we discourage dogs in this zone that have the temperament to chase animals. So for the benefits of doubt kindly keep on leach for any uncertainty be greatly appreciated. Great news though for visiting the swim holes more than welcome to be leach free. As pet lovers ourselves please disclose your lovely furry friends so we can happily discuss there accommodation needs. :-) at the same time we are very pet friendly. For caravaners, camper trailers owners please understand that there is no (current) 100% level spots. It is a very slight hill rise but nothing like a chock will fix to bring your trailer level. We have levels welcome to borrow. There is lots of space We look forward to hearing from you all!

Welcome to our quiet remote Gorge site booking. Designed for private family/friend group bookings in mind.  Pitch your swag, tent or camper-trailer in a picture perfect Gorge private hideaway or ask us for a glamping setup! With high Natural Gorge rock faces and lots of shady tree coverage from the midday sun you will honesty think you're in Kakadu but without the crocs of course!... It is truly an amazing refreshing swimming hole. Either relax reading a book or simply lay in the refreshing creek and watch your kids have great time and wear themselves out makes it all worthwhile. You will be truly amazed how peaceful and secluded you are from the busy stressful world.  We promote it as 4x4 access only mostly due to the "not so level driveway and tracks". The Gorge track is accessable for all size camper trailers. Great news we have removed a nuisance tree along the track to open it up to most caravans but perhaps not recommend large size lengths such as 17foot and above. Pls enquire further any questions. Dogs are welcome. Absolute pooch heaven! Leash free zone.  Great news this site is 100% exclusiveness to your booking. Monthly Latest update April 23: Site access requires non-SUV 4x4's. Must only be "proper" 4x4 with diff lock in-case of uncertain weather conditions. It is rugged, raw and remote from the rest of the property snugged against a flowing cascading creek that boasts a 6 metre deep water hole with multi levels that all ages adore. Only the brave heart will conquer the highest point. Most suited for family/friend groups with juniors and above whom love to expel some energy or couple that which to be away from everyone! Sandy Falls is a lovely group size family oriented camp site. Uniquely situated above the picturesque well renown Binghi Waterfall. Guests will enjoy the raw beauty of the natural bush landscape, late afternoon cold treats watching the sunsetting over the water fall horizon and the early morning birds singing well then again, a possible rooster crowing from the homestead few hundred metres away. What's more you're right there should you wish to dip your toes or wade in the refreshing granite sand filtered creek pool. You may even have a friendly peacock visit you of an afternoon to display his bloom in aid of a free scraps. This site is best suited for caravanners of all sizes if you want to be on the waters edge. ALERT: If you have checked your dates like to stay on Hip camp and says unavailable please check with us first by message as we are experiencing some short term technicalities with the site. Sandy Falls is truly an award-winning photographic backdrop for all special memories. It would be the most suited for vans as many prefer the level ground and of course nothing beats being right near your very own waterfall & swimming hole that is sure hard to beat. Welcome to our Family special booking site. It is designed for parents with more than most kids. This is the campground area (not overlooking water). Site 1 - The Secret Gorge
Adrian and oretai were the most amazing hosts. We had an amazing time in an absolutely beautiful setting. We booked the hot tub on the beach which was a great addition to our holiday. Oretai cooked us an amazing Thai dinner and delivered it to us at our campsite which is incredible considering how remote the camp is. There is no phone reception or wifi at the camp which makes it easy to switch off and forget the troubles of the outside world. We will return again and would highly recommend the gorge to anyone who wants to switch off for a couple of days. Even though there is no phone reception, there is still peace of mind as they monitor Chanel 34 so highly recommended taking along an uhf radio. 5 stars. We will be back

We have left on our working trip around Australia in November, we are from a rural FNQ town and since leaving we have struggled to find many remote camping spots like we have at home. We stumbled across Binghi station last minute and decided to book and glad we did because it’s the best Hip camp we have had since starting our trip. It’s a beautiful remote station, with beautiful swimming spots, we were the only campers on the station (mid week) and Adrian and his family were super lovely, nothing was a hassle and it was laid back. We towed our 22ft off road caravan and had no issues and didn’t find the drive in too rough, although we have taken our caravan to some gnarly areas. We will try and get back and camp at the gorge next time with some friends and our swags. Also bonus point for being pet friendly, which seems rare around NSW, our dog is use to being around cattle, so was fine around the sheep. Thank you Adrian and family for hosting us 😊

Adrian's campgrounds are nothing short of amazing, definitely a hidden little gem! We stayed at the secret gorge and had the best 4 nights there. We had the spot completely to ourselves, the scenery and the gorge itself was so beautiful. They hadn't had rain since around Christmas time but we were still able to swim at the gorge - we spent most of our days floating about with our dog. The toilet and shower were well kept, and having a hot shower felt like such a treat! We used the fire pit a few times - heaps of firewood to be cut down around the campsite. The stars at night were breath taking. We explored the other two swimming spots - jumpin rock and sandy creek falls - both were just as stunning in their own way. We also just enjoyed driving around and using our 4X4, the tracks were very fun. Binghi station is definitely worth the trip out, I couldn't recommend it enough. We will definitely be back!

Stayed at the Gorge. OMG this is an absolutely amazing place. Well worth the rough drive in. If you’ve got a short trailer with heaps of clearance it’s the very most amazing place I’ve ever camped, you will not regret it. Assume about an hours drive from the gate to the campsite:

Binghi Station is a beautiful property about an hour west of Tenterfield. Accessible by 4WD only. The road is very uneven and steep in parts but solid. Expect hot and dry conditons in summer. We were there in December and very glad to see just enough water in the gorge for a swim. Sheepyard camp ground is spacious, with drop toilets and camp showers. We'll love to go back, but plan to book one of the spots close to the water. The gorge was magic. Thanks Adrian for popping in and the tips on where to swim. We felt very welcome.

Was an amazing stay. Adrian and staff are very helpful with great ammenities. However it’s the swimming holes that really make this place very special. It is currently 4WD access only however I found it quite easy to navigate. Would definitely recommend Binghi Station

This property is a great spot. 4wd is 100% needed to access the property. Adrian is an awesome guy, we forgot a couple of key things and Adrian did not hesitate to help us out. He is an amazing guy. The camping area itself has a beautiful sunset, and some great swimming holes after a long day. I will 100% be going back. Even considering making it a yearly trip. Adrian keeps numbers low so there is always plenty of room so campers are not stacked on top of each other. There is showers, but, it is a cold shower, so don't wait too late into the night. No power or phone reception, but exactually what i was looking for. My teenage daughter had to actually engage with me and not with a head in the phone. LOVED THIS SPOT!!!!

Adrian and his farmhand were so accommodating and honestly catered to all of our needs. The property had wonderful powered solar showers, an awesome gorg, jump rock and falls and the shearing ground had the most spectacular views. Definitely a 4WD only entry, but this was not a problem for us. Our friends and I are already planning our next trip back to Adrian’s property.

Binghi Station was fabulous! We had the best time camping at the Sandy Falls campsite. Adrian was a fantastic host with excellent communication leading up to our stay and super friendly when we got there- only too happy to help at all times. The site itself was lovely- private with a great drop toilet and a lovely outdoor shower- hot too if you timed it right- what a luxury! Space and quiet. The kids had a ball on the trampoline, and the dogs off-leash were enjoying their freedom. There was plenty to explore- The Gorge and Jumpin Rock were awesome for a refreshing swim. Even in the middle of summer, it was good weather with hot days and cool nights for a great night's sleep. We highly recommend this special place. Thanks for having us!!

Terrific spot, and Adrian is a fantastic host that maintains great amenity for a secluded location. Upon reading other reviews prior to arrival we noted the comment about the drive in - they were not exaggerated. A nice little adventure awaits those with an enjoyment of all things "off the beaten track". All part of the reason for going to Binghi, and it does certainly make that first refreshment go down well. Whilst the creek wasn't flowing, it was still terrific to have a swim in the cool waters. A drive around the property is also recommended to see the local flora and fauna and experience some more technical driving.... A stay is highly recommended.

We spent four beautiful restorative nights at Binghi station, a perfect place to slow. Peaceful, spacious and unique camp ground I've ever been. Don't even mention Adrian is a friendly host. Would go back to visit again one day.

This place is incredible! As is Adrian and his family. Stayed at shearing shed family week escape over new years and couldnt fault a single thing. Well and truly worth the 5 hour drive and can't wait to come back real soon. Camp fires, Dogs allowed, bins! multiple swimming holes, stunning views, super friendly hosts and great company. Can't ask for much more... Thanks for an epic start to the new year 💯 10/10

The family and I loved camping at Adrian’s land, we are definitely coming back, the camp sites are very close to water and the sheering shed compound site is only a little drive to any of the trails and watering holes. Adrian is a top bloke and made us feel very welcome, the camp toilets and showers are very clean and tidy with disinfectant, toiletries and sprays to keep things clean! The local wildlife as well as the sheep were very fun to watch have a feed around the orange trees. The track is a 4x4 must, I definitely wouldn’t have gotten my Subaru through most of it, we took a camper trailer and did fine! We hopefully plan to make a return after some rains so we can see the beautiful waterfalls in action!

We spent four days at Binghi Station with our kids and friends and absolutely loved our time there. Adrian was very friendly and easy to contact whenever needed. The porta loos were clean and well maintained, and the camping spot itself was amazing, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It was so lovely to see so much wildlife around us (aside from a few spiders, haha!). Visiting Sandy falls is a must as it was so beautiful. We would definitely camp here again — a well-deserved 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a great time at the secret gorge, it was absolutely stunning and a great spot to camp and swim..... absolutel bliss. Adrian is a top bloke who has gone above and beyond to make this camp as great as it is. Would definitely recommend

they are definitely not kidding about the road in but worth every second of the drive. Amazing views and swimming, flat cleared camping areas with plenty of firewood, plenty of wildlife. a few nice touches with the solar lights, fire pits and even rakes and shovels provided around the area. Adrian was a great bloke to meet for a chat. Will definitely be back 10/10.
