🌿 Secluded Woodland Campsite at the Foot of Mt Tennant Just 10 minutes from local shops, this secluded woodland campsite on our working cattle farm feels a world away. Set in valley and surrounded by beautiful old Blakely’s Red Gum trees, the site sits in the foothills of Mt Tennant, offering peace, privacy, and stunning natural surroundings. With only one campsite on the property, there’s space and quiet, perfect for couples, families, and anyone seeking a relaxing bush escape close to Canberra. ⸻ 🏕️ The Campsite Choose your own site in the paddock! There are spots suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, and swags. Choose from flat and grassy spots, or nestle among the woodland, or adventure up the hill for sweeping views from your tent! No 4WD is required, though access includes around 200 metres of dirt road and farm track. Entry is via a secure farm gate. You can: • Park on the farm track and walk to any spot of your choice in the paddock. • If you want to park next to your camp - choose a spot by the track. 🔥 Facilities & Camping Style Bring-everything, leave-no-trace for self-sufficient campers. • No toilets or showers • Please bring all water and supplies • Summer fire bans apply • In cooler months, fallen branches may be collected for campfires • Respect the land and help keep it pristine. 🌿 Wildlife & Bushwalking Guests often see: • Wallabies and kangaroos • Galahs and cockatoos • Resident wedge-tailed eagles • Friendly Angus cattle and calves The farm is part of a native pasture protection zone, with native grasses, wildflowers, and mature trees. Guests are welcome to explore and walk through the valley to the top of the nearby hill, where you’ll find beautiful views across Canberra to the east and toward Namadgi National Park to the west. ⸻ 🚗 Access The campsite is accessed via a secure farm gate and a short section of farm track. 4WD is not required in normal conditions. You may: • Park on the farm track and walk to any site you choose, or • Camp right beside your car, just inside the paddock. The camp is located just 500 metres off Tourist Drive 5, the scenic route looping south of Canberra and connecting many regional attractions. ⸻ 🚿 Amenities and Facilities This is a bring-your-own, leave-no-trace campsite designed for self-sufficient campers. There are: • No toilets or showers • No running water • No powered sites Guests must bring all water, food, and camping equipment, and take all waste with them when they leave. ⸻ 🏪 Nearby Facilities Despite its secluded setting, the campsite is close to services: • 2 minutes’ drive to Tharwa Village for coffee, ice cream, and basic supplies. • Access to swimming and walking along the Murrumbidgee River near the historic Tharwa Bridge. • 10 minutes drive to major supermarkets, fuel, and shops in Canberra. This makes it easy to enjoy a quiet bush stay without being far from modern conveniences.

Sites are in a paddock. If you are not comfortable driving and reversing your RV over uneven surfaces, this is not the right spot for you.

Pull-in site
You will likely need to reverse and do multiple point turns to maneuver your vehicle in the uneven paddock ground. If you're not comfortable with this, it's not the right site for you.
