Sandalwood Downs Toodyay operates as a farm stay and has been in high demand for several years now. After years of traveller's requesting caravan and tents sites, Marc and Jane are excited to announce as of March 2024 we now offering 11 caravan/camping/tent sites.
With only 11 unpowered sites spread out over 100 acres, you are guaranteed privacy for you and your family and friends.
3 clean instant portable toilets.
A refreshing cold bush shower is available on site.
The farm also features a fantastic communal area for fellow traveller's to meet, chat, have a few drinks, sit by the amazing fire pit (during winter months), have a BBQ.
The farm features many beautiful hand raised farm animals such as, camels, cows, miniature goats, donkeys, alpacas, lambs, deer, a pig, emus, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, rabbits, chooks and peacocks.
Spend some time strolling the stunning walk trails and taking in the amazing views on the property,

COMMUNAL FIRE PIT / YANNING CIRCLE ONLY TO BE USED IN WINTER MONTHS MAY-SEPTEMBER DEPENDING ON SHIRE AND DEFES REGULATION. Fire pit open between 4.30 till 8.30pm.
NO INDIVIDUAL CAMP FIRES ALLOWED. Due to guest, animal and property safety. Guest breaking this rule will be asked to leave the property.
The Julimar Forest is conveniently located just 2kms away.
The fabulous township of Toodyay is only 8 minutes away.
Sandalwood Downs Farm:
-The property is 100 acres of beautiful tranquility. Perfect for a family getaway or a romantic couple experience. Not suitable for large noisy party groups.
-The property is only 45 minutes from Midland and 7 minutes from the wonderful town of Toodyay.
RULES AND GUILDELINES.
While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s happiness, comfort and safety.
YOUR FAMILIES SAFELY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US:
- No bikes sorry. As we are a farm we do not have bike trails or paths. The paddocks are uneven terrain with incline and decline and are not safe for riding.
- No yelling or squealing in the communal / play ground area. This area is for everybody's enjoyment. If your children are yelling and squealing you will all be asked to leave the communal area.
- Please supervise your children at ALL times, this is for their safety. Children are not allowed to roam free around the farm without adults. Please ensure your children do not yell, squeal or run whilst around the animals.
-Children must be supervised in the communal playground area, The playground is closed for use at 6.pm.
- No lighting of campfires. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment,
-Fabulous communal fire pit open during winter months. No individual site camp fires due to safety of our property, animals and guests.
-If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues.
-No dogs permitted on the property due to our animals roaming free.
-You must be totally self contained, own power and water, (3 clean portable toilet and refreshing cold bush shower are available for use in the communal area).
-Please take away all rubbish.
-No big party groups.
-Quiet time from 7.30pm please. Please consider other guests and our neighbours.
-Check out of campsite by 11 am please.
-If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch an animal that has escaped.
- Please do not enter animal enclosures/ paddocks without Jane or Marc.
-As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals.
-You approach all animals at your own risk
-Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc.
-Please drive very slowly through paddocks 10km per hour as animals roam freely.
-You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evacuation plan. Make sure you read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us.
-Arrival during day light hours is a must please arrival by 6pm, for yours and our animals safety. The front gate will be locked at 6pm for security reasons and will not unlocked till morning.

Once logged for its timber in the 1960's by Wundowie Steel Foundry for it's steel mills and furnaces, there are still many tall/older trees as well as regrowth. Motorhome. The pitch ain't marked. There's no shops close by, so if you leave your pitch it might be taken by someone else when you return.
Water and electricity are close by. Showers and toilets are clean. Laundry machines are onsite.
There's a children's play area, the rules that children are supervised while there.

We had such a good time camping here! The animals are all so friendly and the camping sites were well spaced so we felt like we had our privacy. The farm tour was very interesting and we loved getting to know all about the animals and petting them and feeding them. The toilets and shower were very clean and easily accessible.

Such a gorgeous camp spot! Very peaceful, nice to have such a private spot as all the sites are spaced apart from eachother. The facilities are basic but just what you need. Strolling around the farm and saying hi to all the animals was such a treat, and Mark took us on a fantastic tour of the farm. Would recommend!

A lovely, peaceful private farm stay. The fun decorations added so much character, the night sky was stunning, and the farm tour was a real highlight. Thank you Jane for sharing your wonderful farm with us for the weekend. It did not take long after our arrival for some of the animals to come and say hello and being woken up by the sounds of wildlife was really special. Authentic farmstay! Very peaceful. Sites are very spread out. Can hardly see anyone.
The animals are next level! So many of them and they are all friendly. Definitely the best farmstay in regards to animals interaction, I’ve been too.
The owners have 4 dogs. The dogs were my favourite! Beautiful, calm natured pets. Could’ve easily taken them home ❤️

We had a lovely weekend out on Sandalwood Farm! Jane and Marc are both lovely. Very warm, welcoming and hospitable. They were responsive, quick to answer questions and very informative. We did the farm tour as well and that was a cool experience, with opportunities to feed baby goats, meet and learn about lots of unique and interesting farm critters and loads of photo ops!
Our campsite was very spacious and pretty. We had site 1 near the creek, which was awesome for the kids. The toilets, playground and general grounds were all very clean and well-kept. It's a lovely, organised set up. I'm so glad we went. Thanks for having us Jane and Marc!
