Peaceful Pastures is set over 9.3 acres. The back 5 acres has a watercourse running through which wild ducks frequent. The front 4 acres has a shed in the centre and 3 caravan campsites. We welcome quiet and considerate campers, who are self-contained with their own facilities. A self-contained fire pit is provided at each of the 3 campsites, for use outside the state fire ban that extends from Nov 1st to May 10th. Firewood may be available, but bringing your own is recommended. There is a small water tank, with rainwater available at the tap. This is to be used minimally at times of no rain and not to be used for car or van washing. There are a number of wild kangaroos and emus in the area, which can often be seen when driving along the road. The property is located 2.2 km off the South-Western Highway along a quiet, sealed road. Close by is the Kirup Tavern which has well-priced meals, pool tables and dartboards. It's a 15-minute drive from Donnybrook, with shops, restaurants, weekend markets and the Apple Fun Park, and 11 minutes from the tourist town of Balingup. Guests are welcome to use the trampoline, but children must be supervised, as there is no safety enclosure fitted.

The name of this hipcamp really says it all! Such a peaceful place to stay! We had such a fantastic stay at Peaceful pastures! We visited with our 21.6" Van and the sites are huge, flat and easy to park. Great base for surrounding towns, we took a trip into Donnybrook for the kids to play at the Apple fun park and wish we had of stayed more than one night as we passed lots of great wineries and fruit stalls.

We booked both sites at Paperbark Retreat for 5 caravans over New Year. Lots of room and flat areas to park up the vans and not be on top each other with shaded areas to sit under. Great location to just chill out with friends only just over an hour from Perth. Will definitely be back!

Lovely peaceful spot to camp, skies were beautiful and David was a pleasure to deal with and gave great instructions. It was a very wet weekend and ground got a bit soggy but the rain levels were well above normal for that time of year. Perfect place for staying for the Balingup Medieval Carnivale, close enough yet peaceful and Kirup pub was great for a dinner.

Had an awesome time at black stump site. Very private, plenty of space to choose from for pitching a large tent. Having the container nearby was a plus as used that for the camp kitchen. You can easily set up chairs in there should it rain and there’s two square tables in there for your use. The site was peaceful and beautiful and the hosts wonderful and very helpful. Michael brought over a fire pit table for us to use and some wood to start our fires off with. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed for 2 nights during the end of April. Pros: - The owner is nice - There were some animals including a couple of ponies that the owner let the kids walk around with. - Relatively close to town Cons: - The campsite is a rectangular paddock that was dirt and animal droppings. It had trees on the perimeter and on one side there was a little creek. The interior of the paddock was empty. - The paddock is situated next to a train line and a road crossing, which I'm guessing serves a nearby alumina refinery. Trains were going at all hours into the night and the road crossing was bright and loud which was hard to deal with in tents.

The Black Stump was a great place to stay. The paddock has quite a few spots to pitch a tent. There is a shipping container with tables and chairs that can be used as a make shift kitchen. Overall, our stay was relaxed and the host was lovely. It's close to a short bush walk at the lime kiln, and not too far away from the thrombolites. Would recommend.

A small and basic site, but really charming with lovely shady trees. Our second night felt much more private once other guests had left, though it can be quite open when busy. There are some beautiful walks nearby, and the evenings were wonderfully quiet with stunning starry skies. It was a bit dusty with a few caterpillars around, but we appreciated that there were no nasty spiders and the site was well-cleared to help prevent snakes. A peaceful and pleasant stay overall 🏕️
