Welcome to Nanadhong Views. Nanadhong is the local indigenous name for the Cathedral Range. We are located on the western slope of the Cathedral with beautiful views to its peak as well as across the Acheron valley to the Black Range and South to Dom Dom and the Black Spur. This property was previously a home site but was burned out in the 2009 fires. Now being returned to nature and available for camping only. Two dams and a seasonal creek attract birds and local wildlife. A total of 30 acres is available for exploring and enjoying the views. This private location has a single site with power and water, suitable for two vans or several camper trailers, a flushing toilet and further grassed areas suitable for tents and camper trailers. A camp shelter currently under construction will provide somewhere out of the weather with lighting, water and power available. The property is located 30 minutes from Lake mountain where you can ski during winter or hike and mountain bike during summer. Lake Eildon is also 30 minutes away and a great venue for fishing, swimming and boating. The Acheron, Rubicon and Goulburn rivers are close by and suitable for fishing and kayaking. Mountain bike riders can also try the tracks at Buxton or Eildon. There are many hiking/walking options including the historical Rubicon Valley just 20 minutes away. If you are into 4wd’ing or trail bikes there are many tracks in the Black Range across the road or the Big River area.

Locally we are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking. We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about. Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset. Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance. We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish! Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea! NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise . Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock! **Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere

The home is unoccupied, so you will have the sprawling bush site to yourself. Sit under the majestic canopy of stars in the evening and enjoy the warmth of the rustic bluestone campfire as you relax and unwind. There is nothing better than enjoying the ambience of an open campfire in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but a stunning night sky above your head! There is plenty of tank water which you can responsibly help yourself to. There is access to a toilet (no shower). The campsite has a picnic table for meals. Whilst it takes approx 10 mins of driving on dirt tracks to get to it, once on the property, surrounded by tall eucalypts, the sound of the birds, the absence of any humans, and the refreshing mountain air, totally zens you out, and you feel like you are miles away from the hustle and in your own little world! Please bring your own food, drinks and camping essentials. A leisurely walk will take you over the bridge to the picturesque seaside village of San Remo, or a short drive to popular surf and swimming beaches and all other attractions on the Island. The property is nestled on 32 acres of a natural rural landscape of trees, wetlands with Westernport Bay and Churchill Island views unique to Banksia Park’s location. Banksia Park Estate is enriched with local history from the traditional owners of this land, the Bunurong / Boonwurrung people and the early settlers. Venture down through the trees to get a sense of what it would have been like for the Yallok Bulluk, as you experience the serenity of the untouched wetlands and see all of the native wild life at play. The chicory kiln at the entrance is known as the “Bern Denham kiln”. We actually can not offer Tent Sites (Tents, Swags, sleeping in cars etc) and reserve the right to decline the booking on arrival if your set up does not meet the requirements. We unfortunately need to state this upfront due to some of our previous guests, so if you can confirm your set up as being a caravan/campervan etc for your stay and that you have your own toilet as a minimum, we will be able to accept your booking. We would also like to let you know that our check - in on the day of arrival is between 2.00pm - 5.00pm and we will need an estimated time of arrival. That way we can make arrangements to be on-site to check you in. If needed, late check in within daylight hours can be arranged subject to our availability.
