A secluded get-away, Sea Mist is positioned at the end of The Great Ocean Road. Just a short walk from Logans Beach Whale Nursery and the picturesque Hopkins River. Close to enjoy a variety of water activites swimming, fishing, kayaking, surfing. Logans Beach Day Spa and a female gym is 5 minute walk up the road from the property. Proudfoots, a historic restaurant, on the Hopkins River about a 15 minute stroll across the bridge and along the river walk past the boat moorings. They are well known for delicious food, great place to go for tea or weekend breakfast. There is also a walking /riding track and board walk promenade that will follows the foreshore and finishes at the Break Water passing the Warrnambool Surf Club, Lake Pertobe and some terrific restaurants, Simons and The Pavilion to note, which is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The CBD is only 5 minutes drive from the property great variety of restaurants, art galleries, gift shops, boutiques and speciality shops as well as supermarkets and other large chain stores such as, Woolworths, Coles, Audi, K-Mart and Target. Set on 2 acres, Sea Mist was purchased as a subdivision in 1998. The garden and house were also designed then and given council approval the following year. The extensive gardens incorporate both design ideas that Edna Walling used, and Bill Mollison and David Holgren developed with their Permaculture principals. The gardens were established over a number of years to follow, aiming to be as sustainable as possible. Although the property has town water connected, for most of the year it runs totally on tank water. The wastewater is recycled and used on many of the gardens. We have organic orchard and vegetable gardens that use companion planting and successive crop rotation. Guests are free to spend time in the garden and pick some fruit and herbs for a snack to use in cooking a meal. Please be respectful and leave plenty for others to share.

Tyrendarra you'll find the river where you can fish, use the boat ramp. Narrawong also has fishing & the beach. We are central to beautiful spots. Find caves at Byaduk and a gift store. Not far from Hamilton you'll find falls to wonder around. Portland has pick your own strawberries along with the tram to take a ride. Camping at Kate's was awesome, the price competes with the main 'surfside' campground, while providing more privacy and more space to setup and relax. Easy to communicate with Kate, and she's ready to answer any questions you may have! The location is very close to where Hopkins river meets the sea, less than 10 minute walk to have a swim (although in August I wouldn't recommend it 😅😅🥶). There's also an alpaca right next door!

Carla's directions to the property were spot on, and we found her place easily. We stayed at Carla's place in our 20ft full size van, with our cavoodle for 5 days and absolutely loved it. We went in late July, so as expected it was cold and there had been a fair bit of rain, so there was no driving on the grass which makes sense. We had fantastic views from the camp site, and the facilities were excellent. We loved sitting and watching the cows and calves and taking in the scenery, just chilling out. The firepit was great, and the wood we purchased was plentiful. There is also plenty to do in the area, it is very close to Hopkins Falls, which was thundering due to the rain, and Warrnambool is just 15 minutes down the road. And of course there is the bath! We had a wonderful, quiet, restful stay, and we will definitely be back!

We loved our stay! Absolutely perfect for our busy (and noisy) family of 6! Kids loved seeing the cows, ‘helping’ Kev feed them and even a tractor ride thrown in for one of our boys who couldn’t stop grinning!! Outdoor bath next to the fire pit is a great addition to the setup and we would love to come back with friends next time. Magic view looking out towards the river especially at sunrise and sunset. Instructions to get there was clear, the ground is flat, and most importantly a nice quiet place for our dogs away from big groups of people. We loved how much space there is for them to move around (on a lead), and remote enough that there is not a lot of traffic on the main road. Rob and Ann were kind enough to meet us and ensure that we are comfortable with the spot selected. No toilets in the location but there is nearby public toilets about 10 minutes drive away.
