This campsite is set on 100 acres of farm land with a mix of pasture and bushland. There is a little river running through the end of the property, and you're welcome to throw a rod in of take your canoe for a paddle. We are located 2 minutes' drive away from the Big Koala and 30km from the Grampians National Park, a must on your list of places to visit. If you're up for an explore of the region we're 35 minutes' away from Halls Gap and the zoo, 43 minutes from McKenzies Falls and 45 minutes from the Ararat Hills National Park where you can enjoy mountain bike trail riding. The site has flat, grassy ground. Campfires permitted (wood provided) and you can bring your own generator. This campsite suits self-contained campers with own camping toilet/shower amenities and supplies (water). Rubbish facilities are provided. Dogs welcome, but they must not hassle the other animals.

Around the property there are many old historic farm buildings, including an original 'boundary riders' hut (circa 1870's). The Yarriambiack Creek is the western boundary of the property, and is a haven for birds and wildlife such as kangaroos & wallabies. Ancient river redgums run along the creek which provide for nice shady spots in summer. The creek relies on seasonal rainfall, and when running, is deep enough for swimming or paddling around in a kayak. When dry, the creek bed makes a fantastic walking track. If you are looking for a unique family holiday, or you are an artist and want to do some songwriting or painting, or just need to get out of the rat race and chill out, then this could be just the place for you. 10 mins to Murtoa, 15 mins to the Dooen Hotel, 20 mins to Horsham, 30 mins to Warracknabeal, 40 mins to the Grampians or Mt Arapilies. A perfect base to explore the renowned Silo Art Trail, Murtoa Stick Shed, local lakes and waterways, state and national parks, and many other regional attractions. But if you are simply into nature or hiking, then just head north or south along the creek, and you will be able to walk for hours and take in the unique scenery. $54/night for 2 people. Remote farm at the end of a road, no neighbours, and spectacular views of the Grampians (Gariwerd) that is most stunning in the morning as the sun hits Mt William. One camp site (one group only). The site accepts 8 people but if you are just two people you will have the place to yourselves except for the kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas and birdlife. The campsite is situated next to our family's holiday farmhouse that we visit sometimes, but only when there are no guest campers. There is a fire pit with grill plates available to cook over the fire (note open fires cannot occur when fire restrictions are in place). Campers have access to the flush toilet, hot shower and kitchen in the house. The house is a work in progress. We are slowly renovating the house, so it is a bit rough but it is clean and functional and you will have the place to yourselves. Please respect the locked private areas of the house. Campers are expected to bring their own cooking pots, plates, cutlery, camp chairs, etc. Only 4 km from Moyston where you can get great coffee and visit the historic Mine Walk. Halls Gap is 35km away or head through the mountains over Redmans Road that takes you the scenic route to Halls Gap (2WD accessible in dry weather). Kalymna Falls and picnic ground is a beautiful 15 min bush drive from the farm. Activities available in the region include The Pinnacle, Halls Gap Zoo, and various waterfalls.

Ideal basecamp position for both northern and southern Grampians access. We have a camper trailer and the campsites are relatively flat with no bumps and saw no ants. Absolute bonus on a Hipcamp site to have access to hot water for showers and a toilet.

The photos give a real good indication of what the site is like. Easy and clear directions and really lovely area. Plenty of space. We all had an incredible time. Some flies but not the bitey kind but good with bring fly nets / hats. The camels were a fun daily visit and the misting system on hot days was perfect. Perfect for the small to medium group when wanting a little extra luxury. Even though I switch off when camping there was still mobile phone coverage if you needed it.

Steven’s property was really beautiful and just the right amount of size so we didn’t feel overwhelmed. There was a flushable toilet, a little shower available 1 night and really nice to light a fire. Steven came and said hi and checked in - it was a really peaceful spot.

If you want to be a short drive from the Grampians but want more quiet and space then camping in Halls gap, this place is great. We are completely self sufficient so we were able to park a long way from any other campers. Kids were able to explore the land, throw some yabbie nets in the damn with success and ride their bikes. Ample free fire wood. Basic flushable toilet and hot shower available. Steven was a very friendly host and quick to respond to messages.

Weekend Trip to Farmland Camp

We really enjoyed our recent camping trip at Steven's property - he showed us a beautiful spot overloading a creek and went out of his away to accomodate us with firewood etc. There were lots of animals to see - llamas, sheep, horses, rabbits, which the kids loved. It was great to be able to get to Halls Gap so easily and then have a nice quiet place to retreat to. Highly recommend!

One of, if not the best camp and we have stayed at a few. Jason’s instructions were clear, even phoning a couple of days before to confirm we if we had any questions and to clarify a couple of things. He was a wealth of knowledge on the area and suggested a couple of places to go. The property, peaceful and private, views were spectacular, sunsets outstanding , the wildlife included many species of birds, wallabies, kangaroos and rabbits. Having the use of the bathroom was an added bonus. Cannot wait to go back.

Great easy campsite to chill with family and kids, has all the amenities you could need and more. Very well-thought out site, clean, grassy, dust-free, mozzie-free, sensor/motion lights in the trees light the pathway at night so you can't get lost, camels were entertaining, decking was great for step up into trailer, kids loved testing all 3 firepits, the trees were great to block wind, overall great site to just chill.

We loved staying at the tiny cabin. This is our second stay at Mayfair and it gets better every time. The location is unparalleled, right in front of a creek. The facilities are top notch - we love the fire stove - sparkling clean and comfortable. There is plenty to do around, from hiking to antiques shopping. The people are friendly and absolutely everything is worth the trip, not least our hosts. Thanks to Paul and his family for keeping this magic place running. Make sure you bring some carrots for Gobi and Mo, the camels. They love them!

Our family loved the uniqueness of the truck. It had everything we needed. We loved the attention to detail eg. The pre-prepared wood in the pot belly stove. Well stocked with crockery etc. Queen bed was comfy. Can imagine how nice it would be to sit out in the deck on a warmer evening to watch the sunset. Loved it!

I loved the way Gold Deluxe was set up. , Hot water for washing up, and drinkable water was a definite plus. The host was wonderful meeting us at night to ensure we could find the camp-site. The camp-site itself was secluded and peaceful. Would stay again.
