We are located 2 minutes' drive away from the Big Koala and 30km from the Grampians National Park, a must on your list of places to visit. If you're up for an explore of the region we're 35 minutes' away from Halls Gap and the zoo, 43 minutes from McKenzies Falls and 45 minutes from the Ararat Hills National Park where you can enjoy mountain bike trail riding. The site has flat, grassy ground. Campfires permitted (wood provided) and you can bring your own generator. One camp site (one group only). The site accepts 8 people but if you are just two people you will have the place to yourselves except for the kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas and birdlife. The campsite is situated next to our family's holiday farmhouse that we visit sometimes, but only when there are no guest campers. There is a fire pit with grill plates available to cook over the fire (note open fires cannot occur when fire restrictions are in place). Campers have access to the flush toilet, hot shower and kitchen in the house. The house is a work in progress. We are slowly renovating the house, so it is a bit rough but it is clean and functional and you will have the place to yourselves. Please respect the locked private areas of the house. Campers are expected to bring their own cooking pots, plates, cutlery, camp chairs, etc. Only 4 km from Moyston where you can get great coffee and visit the historic Mine Walk. Halls Gap is 35km away or head through the mountains over Redmans Road that takes you the scenic route to Halls Gap (2WD accessible in dry weather). Kalymna Falls and picnic ground is a beautiful 15 min bush drive from the farm. Host supplied sticks to get fire started and a nights worth of wood to burn Massive paddock to choose where to camp in means that other guests were far enough away to ensure privacy within your own camp. Camp under the trees for shade or middle of paddock for maximum Grampians view

Steven’s property was really beautiful and just the right amount of size so we didn’t feel overwhelmed. There was a flushable toilet, a little shower available 1 night and really nice to light a fire. Steven came and said hi and checked in - it was a really peaceful spot.

If you want to be a short drive from the Grampians but want more quiet and space then camping in Halls gap, this place is great. We are completely self sufficient so we were able to park a long way from any other campers. Kids were able to explore the land, throw some yabbie nets in the damn with success and ride their bikes. Ample free fire wood. Basic flushable toilet and hot shower available. Steven was a very friendly host and quick to respond to messages.

Weekend Trip to Farmland Camp

We really enjoyed our recent camping trip at Steven's property - he showed us a beautiful spot overloading a creek and went out of his away to accomodate us with firewood etc. There were lots of animals to see - llamas, sheep, horses, rabbits, which the kids loved. It was great to be able to get to Halls Gap so easily and then have a nice quiet place to retreat to. Highly recommend!

One of, if not the best camp and we have stayed at a few. Jason’s instructions were clear, even phoning a couple of days before to confirm we if we had any questions and to clarify a couple of things. He was a wealth of knowledge on the area and suggested a couple of places to go. The property, peaceful and private, views were spectacular, sunsets outstanding , the wildlife included many species of birds, wallabies, kangaroos and rabbits. Having the use of the bathroom was an added bonus. Cannot wait to go back.

We had a very brief overnight stay here. Directions were easy to follow, even at night with some light rain. The facilities were easy to find and clean. Our host was lovely, with Rob coming out to say hello and share a couple of stories about their time in the region. I would definitely stay here again, it is a great halfway point between Adelaide and Melbourne with some great scenery around the region

We loved our 2 nights camping in a tent here. Jason was fantastic with keeping in contact and helpful instructions. Having the entire property to ourselves was so peaceful, the only sounds were birds and a visiting wallaby. Access to the house for a hot shower was much appreciated and we loved cooking over the bathtub camp-fire with the provided hot plate. We kept our dog on a long lead all weekend because we can't trust him not to run off chasing kangaroos but there was plenty for him to sniff on walks around the property and the track in. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a private and peaceful spot, we can't wait to return

Perfect base for exploring Halls Gap and the Grampians, especially away from the crowds. Great communication and directions, helped us find the property even on a dark and rainy winters evening. Delighted to be greeted by our choice of any site, and a welcome sandstone fire pit that was well-stocked with a wood supply to get us started for our stay. Very wet and windy during our June long-weekend visit, but to be expected in Winter. Made for a slightly slippery entrance over the main tracks for our 2WD, but sandy soils quicky dried after each shower passed. Overall, views were divine (when the clouds parted), site was quiet and serene (barely a car passed by after dark), and surprised by the handy access to nearby Pomonal - with local general store and free hot showers, that were a real bonus. We'll definitely be back!
