"Window to the Wetlands" campsite is located on the outskirts of Kyabram, on 4 acres opposite the Kyabram Fauna Park Lakes. The site provides a great experience for nature enthusiasts and families alike. It is a unique experience for lots of reasons; Natural birdlife experience: Relax under the flight path and observe 100’s of Ibis, at dusk and dawn. (Accompanied by flying foxes in the Summer/Spring). Campers can access an elevated platform to sit and observe habitat views of various native waterbirds in the wetlands. Brooklyn is a 6 generation working farm. We have plenty of space for fully self-contained parking. We also offer glamping and a tiny house available occasionally (view our other listings). This is a very large area in an open paddock with good access for caravans and large vehicles. You may well be the only people here though there’s is room for 10 vans. There is a view of the Broken Creek which is close to the property & easily accessible by a short walk. We’re are a 10 minute drive to Waaia with an excellent pub and the small town of Nathalia which has a supermarket, hotels, fuel, post office, bakery, gift & clothing stores & other businesses. Whilst there are other facilities on the property, this option is for guests who are self-contained only. Dogs on leash welcome. 3 nights at Window to the Wetlands

The camping areas are huge clean and have wonderful undercover areas. The bathrooms are clean and modern. There’s a personal touch and little thoughtful things everywhere. The hosts are amazing, so friendly kind and approachable. We had 2 tents, 2 camping trailers, a trailer and a 4WD and still had room around us. There’s an assortment of farm animals and wildlife to see. The chickens were super cute and inquisitive. We came with all our camping gear but could have left 90% of it at home. There’s a walking/bike trail right out the front into town. The kids loved to ride scooters down to the shops and lovely local bakery. Right near the Fauna Park, a short walk away. Free firewood and excellent fire pits were great at night. Everything was nice and clean and the drinking water tastes great. The land is very flat and well maintained. The grass is lush and green. There is a lovely little hill with a chair you can watch flocks of birds fly over into the wetlands of an evening. Very quiet area and surrounding streets are quiet. It was very peaceful. This is now our new favourite camp grounds. We will definitely be back again and again. Highly recommend! 10/10 stars!

I loved staying at Carmel's place - she was vety communicative, plenty of space and great amenities (several toilets AND hot showers). Would highly recommend!

Where to go

Along the Murray River

The Murray River winds its way along the border of Victoria and New South Wales, affording plenty of options for boating, fishing, and bushwalking. Once you’ve explored the twin towns of Echuca-Moama, on opposite banks of the Murray River, set out to explore the riverside and pitch your tent or park your motorhome at one of the beach camping areas.

Barmah Lakes

A 45-minute drive northeast of Echuca, Barmah National Park sits on the shores of Barmah Lake, where you can hike through River Red Gum forests, fish for Murray Cod, and paddle along the scenic creeks. Bring your boat or canoe to explore Barmah Lake or neighbouring Moira Lake, and take your pick of several lakeside camping areas.

Murray Valley National Park

The Murray River winds its way north into the River Red Gum forests and Riverina wetlands of the Murray Valley National Park. Bushwalking, bird-watching, and paddling are the main pastimes in the park, and there are several campgrounds with tent, motorhome, and caravan sites available.

When to go

Temperatures soar in Echuca during the summer months, and the milder spring and autumn months provide more pleasant weather for river cruises and other outdoor activities. The liveliest time to visit is during one of Echuca’s annual events, such as the Southern 80 waterski festival and the Riverboats Music Festival, both in February.
