Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. The cottage is a converted shed, with three bedrooms, a lovely living area and a cosy closed woodfire. We have a sheltered outdoor area, where you can have a barbeque, or have a small fire in a firedish. The cottage is in the bush, so you can walk out and try to find our resident breeding pair of Lyrebirds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos or the deer that live in our 'back yard'. Or just roam, which shouldn't be too hard on 67 acres . We are close to massive areas of bush with open trails. Dogs are very welcome- no cats. As we live in the bush, we do our best to keep everything as 'green' as we can- so please don't use harsh chemicals. Living in the bush brings with it that you cannot light a fire in fire danger periods, and, heating on a woodstove, means there is a hot stove in the room. (watch those little fingers...) Our aim is to give you a place of rest and enjoyment. We love to share our space as we love it here so much- and hope you love it too. As life is a project - don't expect 10* linen and luxury, state of the art gardens and clipped lawns, but a friendly welcoming atmosphere where you can be yourself and relax. We love to have visitors, and chat for a bit- or leave you to relax. The cottage is on the edge of the bush, where you are welcome to roam on the tracks or off them- at your own risk :-) We are both artists, and our studio's are close to the cottage, which might make some noise, but we'll try to keep it at a minimum when guests are here. The upside is, you could learn something if interested :-) (contact us for workshops) We have a working hobby farm- with some machinery, animals (pigs, dogs, horses, ducks and chickens). You can interact with the animals if you talk to us about safety first, but the horse paddock is out of bounds. ( they can behave unpredictable, are very large (!) and very valuable) Our dogs are very friendly and will most probably visit you. Our puppy still has lots to learn :-) Our property is stock- fenced, our animals will stay in, but dogs are able to roam if they are not staying with you. There is no secure yard to leave your dog during the day, you are expected to be in control of your dogs at all times. If they are ok with horses, chooks and dogs, and under voice command, they can be off leash. Dogs are not to sleep on the beds. We are a rural property with animals, and there are dams on the property, (not close to the cottage) so please keep an eye on children - we cannot take responsibility for your persons or animals. Living on a farm means that not everything is neat, safe, flat or person-proof. Often there is actual work being done involving machinery. Coming here is entirely at your own risk. (sorry for all the disclaimers...) But- of course- if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasurable, we will do our best to do so!

Trickle Hill is a lovely cottage tucked away at the edge of our bush. You have your own little patio, and can go for adventurous walks straight from your living room ! We are close to Dandenong ranges, Yarra valley, Bunyip state park, and Puffing Billy. We are just behind Avalon castle- so great if you are attending a wedding We welcome couples, solo adventurers and families. We are of course LGBTI+ friendly! Dogs are very welcome. The cottage is a converted shed, with three bedrooms, a lovely living area and a cosy closed woodfire. We have a sheltered outdoor area, where you can have a barbeque, or have a small fire in a firedish. The cottage is in the bush, so you can walk out and try to find our resident breeding pair of Lyrebirds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos or the deer that live in our 'back yard'. Or just roam, which shouldn't be too hard on 67 acres . We are close to massive areas of bush with open trails. Dogs are very welcome- no cats. As we live in the bush, we do our best to keep everything as 'green' as we can- so please don't use harsh chemicals. Living in the bush brings with it that you cannot light a fire in fire danger periods, and, heating on a woodstove, means there is a hot stove in the room. (watch those little fingers...) Our aim is to give you a place of rest and enjoyment. We love to share our space as we love it here so much- and hope you love it too. As life is a project - don't expect 10* linen and luxury, state of the art gardens and clipped lawns, but a friendly welcoming atmosphere where you can be yourself and relax. We love to have visitors, and chat for a bit- or leave you to relax. The cottage is on the edge of the bush, where you are welcome to roam on the tracks or off them- at your own risk :-) We are both artists, and our studio's are close to the cottage, which might make some noise, but we'll try to keep it at a minimum when guests are here. The upside is, you could learn something if interested :-) (contact us for workshops) We have a working hobby farm- with some machinery, animals (pigs, dogs, horses, ducks and chickens). You can interact with the animals if you talk to us about safety first, but the horse paddock is out of bounds. ( they can behave unpredictable, are very large (!) and very valuable) Our dogs are very friendly and will most probably visit you. Our puppy still has lots to learn :-) Our property is stock- fenced, our animals will stay in, but dogs are able to roam if they are not staying with you. There is no secure yard to leave your dog during the day, you are expected to be in control of your dogs at all times. If they are ok with horses, chooks and dogs, and under voice command, they can be off leash. Dogs are not to sleep on the beds. We are a rural property with animals, and there are dams on the property, (not close to the cottage) so please keep an eye on children - we cannot take responsibility for your persons or animals. Living on a farm means that not everything is neat, safe, flat or person-proof. Often there is actual work being done involving machinery. Coming here is entirely at your own risk. (sorry for all the disclaimers...) But- of course- if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasurable, we will do our best to do so!

Weekend Trip to The Forest Cottage- Trentham

A great little private cottage located on the rear of the property with easy access to the forest walking trails. We enjoyed 3 nights of peace, serenity and the laughter of kookaburras. Our 4yo loved exploring and discovering native animals and bee hives nearby while our older teens loved the nightly outdoor and indoor fires and accompanying roasts and marshmallow s'mores. Kitchen was well equipped to handle family meal time and the indoor wood heater kept the cottage toasty all night. Recommended for anyone requiring the connection that stems from the disconnect of technology.

I had such an amazing getaway at this beautiful farm. The host and her mum were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home and their hospitality was truly exceptional. The van itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The views were absolutely stunning, and spending the evenings by the fireplace under the stars was pure magic. Weekend Trip to Mountain Flower Farm

We had a lovely weekend away at the Cozy Pozy! We stayed two nights but wish we had stayed longer. The van was perfect for two people and there were so many little conveniences in the van to make us feel right at home. The farm and the views were wonderful as well. We saw Rosellas, black cockatoos and gang-gang cockatoos flying over the farm daily, and were greeted by a pair of baby goats running towards us one morning which was beautiful. The farm is close to town so we enjoyed a couple of outings to the local pub for lunch and some games of pool, as well as a trip to St Andrew’s market which was less than 10 mins away. Tamara and family were so welcoming and helpful, thank you! We hope to visit again soon :)

We had a lovely two days at this hut. We walked directly from the hut to Lyonville and Trentham with lunch at Trentham, an excellent day out. The hut was clean, dry with plenty of wood, we were very warm. The indoors composting toilet was easy to use and odour free.

We loved our time at The Forrest Cottage. It was bigger than it looked in the pictures, and had everything we needed. Our kids loved sitting by the fireplace, and watching the wallabys and kangaroos jump across the property. It felt very private - the hosts Kelly and Erin were lovely and welcoming! Weekend Trip to The Stables On Knox

We had a wonderful stay at The Stables on Knox! We came to take maternity photos and the property was perfect – beautiful scenery, a cute cozy house, and lots of photogenic spots inside and out. The fireplace made it extra relaxing too 😊 Some things to note: the BBQ and pizza oven in the barn were quite dirty so we didn’t use them, and the coffee machine was broken. Also, we were woken up early by a possum scratching on the roof – a true country experience, but something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper! Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it!

We had a ball at Jo's hipcamp. It is such a unique and well set up camp, with so many extras provided, it was the easiest camping trip ever. We went with young kids (aged 2 - 8) and there were so many activities for them to do, from tennis, to feeding the animals, to swimming. The kids (and adults) loved the slippery slide, and watching the kids kayak in the evening whilst we sat by the fire pit in the evening was a highlight. I would 100% recommend and we'd love to come back.
