You can lite fires and firewood is for sale at the farm gate store honesty box further down the road from the gate you enter if you don't bring your own.Escape the modern tourist world and in a pristine, undeveloped old country farming area right on the coast near the mouth of the famous Snowy River. Amazing fishing in both the River and Corringle Beach, with many different species caught at different times of the year. Enjoy the 40-kilometre deserted beach, sun baking (even nude if that's your thing), and swimming, but care must be taken (unpatrolled surf beach). Romantic sunsets with no one but the odd seal and sounds of the waves to disturb you. Beach fire at night is something special to do. The beach track is across from the front gate, there is no beach sign from the road because the public will then use the track which is only for Hipcampers and you wont enjoy the deserted beach. Call me if you cant find the track, but most people have not had a problem. This walking access is steep, easier tracks can be driven to down the road.Or take a dip in the river further down the road, and explore the waterways, with many birds; black swans in the lakes next to camp, plus kangaroos, wombats, emu and deer. There is a boat ramp just down the road to explore the river system. Perfect for water sports, and with fish cleaning tables at the wharf. Go by boat to the Marlo Hotel from the wharf straight over the river.Orbost is 15 minutes drive and has a supermarket, hotel, bottle shop and other conveniences. We are open to accepting larger group bookings, but please discuss this with us first. Other things you can do in the area: - Driving trips to High Country Scenic Route and exploring the High Country (4-5 hour round trip).- Visit the Buchan Caves about an hour into the High Country - they are amazing.- Explore Cape Conran & you can even Dive for Abalone and Crayfish.- Visit Lakes Entrance and buy Seafood from the Trawlers.- Drive to Mt Hotham ski resort and explore the Omeo High Country (3 hours)- Visit Gordon at the Opal & Gemstone House in Orbost and find out about the gold, geology and gemstones of the area, hearing first-hand stories about how the area was many years ago from a great local old-timer who loves to share his knowledge and the old ways things were done.

We recently returned to Nowa Nowa, and not even the rain could dampen our spirits! There was plenty to keep everyone entertained — from jumping off the jetty and stand-up paddle boarding to bird watching and tackling the BMX track. The kids (and the kids at heart) had an absolute blast. It’s a fantastic spot for families, and we love that our fur babies were welcome too. A great place to relax, explore, and make lasting memories!

Weekend Trip to Rules Point

Rules point is nothing short of a dreamland for any camper, nature lover, fisherman or those who love water activities! Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners Stu and Sarah with a carton of freshly (delicious) laid eggs, a warm welcome and an in depth run down of their amazing property, its history, and all the info to help us settle into our camp. Once they sent us off to the camp set up, we did not see, nor hear, another human soul our entire cup long weekend stay (yes, rare, we know!!) We stayed with a group of 4 small families in a mix of small campervans and also usage of their 2 cosy log cabins. The central camp kitchen completely blew us away with how well they have it set up with all cooking items covered for. The boys were just us amazed as the girls were at how great it was to have a warm shower when required. We made use of their canoe on the river and also lauched our small tinny from the private beach. Don't forget to bring your own life jackets! We found rules point extremely safe for our young children and they loved interacting with gumnutt the extra friendly goat. The local general store at Nowa Nowa is a short 10 minute drive away if you require a top up of ice, or small grocery items while Lakes entrance was around 20 minutes. We highly recommend a lunch at the water wheel tavern in town at Lake Tyers, you won't be disappointed. Each family we stayed with have all vowed to return to our new found love of rules point.

We were a group of 6 camping together and we had a wonderful time. It was private and exclusive. We dealt with Mike’s wife and she was very kind and friendly. Lots of activity opportunities and Mike got canoe and bikes available. We will definitely come again for a relaxing break.

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The position is quiet and plenty of room. Close to the river and enjoyed the early morning kayaking and bike rides on equipment on hand. Close enough to town to walk and benefit from facilities but close enough away to have privacy and peace. The bird life was amazing as well.

There is plenty of space between each camp site which is super important to us. Right next to the water which was a bonus. Plenty of wire wood and fire pit available. Lovely hosts who came to check in when we got there and asked if there was anything we needed :) we would camp there again!

A beautiful spot with gorgeous waterfront views. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. We had a most enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend bringing insect repellent though as mosquitoes can be a bit annoying at dusk. Hopefully visit again soon

What a gem of a host Mike is! I rolled up in my 6-meter campervan, and his land welcomed me like an old friend—no fuss, just easy access If you’re itching for adventure, Mike’s got you covered with bikes and canoes ready to roll and those who prefer walking, well, there's plenty of walking tracks. The area is very enchanting and when night falls, those firepits spark up a cozy, soul-warming ambience. Loved it!

Weekend Trip to Rules Point

We spent our Grand Final long weekend at Rules Point and have to say it was absolutely amazing in every way. Sensational. The site is a combination of several outhouses, within a tidy clearing in the bush, perched right above the upper reaches of Lake Tyers, at the end of a track from the main house. It is secluded, embedded, and natural. The amenities available on site allow for luxuries well beyond those usually associated with camping. There are two cabins to sleep in with fireplaces, a bathroom with a hot shower, and a very well equipped gas kitchen with a generous fireplace enough for the coldest of winter nights. The adjoining deck to the kitchen is a highlight: with hammocks, a sensational long bench, and bar chairs provided, it overlooks a painterly view which will sweeten cold beers tenfold. Fishing as a past time around Lake Tyers is brought to a new level at Rules Point, especially for amateurish fishermen like ourselves. Sarah and Stu have canoes/kayaks that allow you to venture out onto the lake (bring your own life jackets). And there is a pontooned platform right below the kitchen. The sandy banks, simply put, are extremely conducive to flathead. Finally the best and fairest of Rules Point are Sarah and Stu themselves - two of the nicest, most generous people you would ever meet. We were greeted with eggs and firewood on arrival, and their gregariousness and willingness to share their beautiful pocket of the world with us is unreal. Thank you so much!

Great location, just 20m from the water. Great host, they gave use some fruit from there trees. (We forgot to take them). Firewood was delivered by host. Only negative we had and it wasn’t that bad, was the traffic, but it was a long weekend.

Campsite is suitable for cars and tents!

Lovely quiet spot in bucolic country side. We arrived just after sunset so we’re inundated with mozzies. Beautiful big sky with great star watching and a visit by a couple of sheep in the morning.

Weekend Trip to Nowa Nowa Lakeside Farmlet.

I enjoyed solo camping on Mike's property with my dog. We had access to the lake just across the road for kayaking and fishing. There are walks close by and a fire pit for a good fire. The site was flat and easy to access. It was a nice, relaxing time.

3 nights at Wattle Point Farm

Wattle Farm was a beautiful spot to park our full-size 6m caravan, and sit and relax as we looked out over the lake. We had a fantastic fire pit supplied, and plenty of wood to keep it going in the cool of the evening. Our dog loved being taken for walks all around this large property, and there was plenty of nearby attractions and things to do. On our first morning while having brekky outside, we looked across to the scrub, and noticed we were being watched by a large 'Roo! The host was a great communicator and gave excellent instructions as to exactly where their gate is (don't believe Google!). The entrance itself is very well signed, so it is very hard to miss it. As we have a larger onroad caravan, we are always a bit wary of access to the properties we stay at, but the driveway was easily navigated, and the instructions to the track that leads to the sites was spot on. The track might be a little tricky for less experienced vanners, but is certainly navigable and Ok for onroad vans like mine (6m long and 3m high) Just need to take it slow and leave plenty of room for weaving through some trees! The host (Carol) greeted us and gave us information about "what's on" in the area, and was very friendly and helpful. We'll be back again and will stay longer! :)
