Camp and fish just a stonesthrow from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Here you'll find nature at its best, just 10 minutes drive from the Cradle Mountain Visitors centre, the perfect base for discovering this magical area.
Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites.
There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.
A keen fisher fish in our dams for trophy size rainbow brown and brook trout catch and release fees and rules apply

We enjoyed our stay at Strahan, had a powered site just next to the beach, staff was very helpful and welcoming. Our kids loved the playground and played there for hours thanks to the building toys provided by the park. We took the Cruise and saw the play and it‘s all in walking distance, great when travelling with a motorhome.

3 portaloos, no showers, old sink with a hose is all there is for washing dishes.
Over priced IMHO.
Booked for two nights but didn’t stay for second night.
Would not recommend.

Camping was fantastic. The hosts were welcoming and very helpful. Great location for exploring Cradle Mountain.
But we thought the cost of “catch and release” fishing was over the top. We thought we might have a go, but decided against it.
We purchased fire wood, which was very moist and needed to be split into very small pieces to get it to burn. Wouldn’t have had a hope without an axe!

Wonderful spot super close to cradle mountain. Views over the lake were amazing, especially at sunrise and sunset. Portaloos were the best kept I've ever seen! Smelled fresh, were super clean, and well stocked. Things like the outdoor sink, WiFi, and gas BBQs were a huge bonus and made staying the night v convenient for us. A lot of thought + effort has gone into making this simple site great!

We (2 adults, 3 teens) stayed three nights and found it a perfect spot for exploring cradle mountain. The owners were very friendly, and the spots were beautiful. Everywhere had a lovely view of the dam, kayaks and canoe were provided to explore the water, lots of local fauna wandering about the place, and the toilets were cleaned regularly.

Really nice, friendly and helpful people . Scott and his wife ( sorry for forgetting name) were very welcoming and gave us a choice of powered pitches overlooking the lake . We were also able to enjoy a camp fire .

Nice level site overlooking stocked trout pond. Pond also had kayaks for campers to use. Approx 15min drive to Craddle Mountain. Owners were very friendly and helpfull. Over all a very pleasant stay and would recomend.
