Take the opportunity to enjoy this very special place on the lake to pitch a tent or park your van. You can lay back and star gaze the myriad of stars, and even take a jump off the pontoon into the beautiful cool waters, or bring your kayaks and paddle the shores. A great base to visit the Florentine valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. One vehicle per site, only one family group per site! If you have a family or group with more vehicles please book accordingly. I will not accept bookings that do not follow these guidelines. Beautiful 8 acre property situated on the edge of the Craigbourne Dam, 2 minutes from the township of Colebrook and 50 minutes from the Hobart CBD. Our property offers are great getaway experience for any traveller. The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . **Please note that it's $20 per person per night. Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders. Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat. The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river! You're welcome to bring pets too.

The location was ideal just by the Craigbourne dam and the views were breathtaking. There is plenty of space and flat ground to camp or get the camper van parked. Really nice place to relax and have a fireplace going just as we did. Great hosts as well. Would definitely be back 👍🏻

We enjoyed another perfect little getaway on Karyn's property. The peaceful atmosphere is perfect to relax and unwind from the daily grind. We were lucky enough to be visited by the resident sea eagles and also had a friendly turkey pop in for a visit.

The perfect place to camp for a few days. The site is huge, flat and runs along the side of the river. It’s beautiful country. This is our second time camping at Derek's farm and his gem is now our favourite spot in Tassie. Derek is one of the nicest hosts ever. He has so much knowledge of the area. He brough some carrots and apples for the kids to feed the friendly horses. We had had a wonderful time and have already booked for the new year. Thank you Derek for sharing your beautiful property. You need to be fully self contained.

Great open space on the waters edge. The dam is interesting to walk along. No tree shade but thats ok in Tassie Spring. Lots of birds to watch. The dogs had a great time too. Great to have campfires- plenty of wood. There is a public toilet about 1km away just FYI.

Great spot for a weekend away! Even though it was windy and cloudy we very much enjoyed it. Fabulous views of the hills beyond the dam, especially watching all the different birds and farm animals. Waking up to the view was amazing because we were right on the water’s edge ☺️ Milly the dog was absolutely gorgeous too.

We had such an amazing time at Ryelands again. Derek is such a wonderful host bringing carrots for our girls to feed his horses while also giving them both a little keepsake of a Spotted Quoll. This spot is beautiful and pure bliss with ample space for a group of just to enjoy on your own right by the riverside. Plus the wine Derek makes is fabulous! We will be back again

What a view!!! Absolutely loved our stay. The loogoon was like a sheet of glass almost everyday. There was morning frosts and fog, but this added to the experience, and we did camp at the back of winter. The only thing I would strongly recommend is that if your towing, make sure you have a 4x4.

My partner and I enjoyed camping near the dam. We did so late August 2025 in a rooftop tent. We were greeted by two beautifully natured border collies. The blonde one kept us company on our stay. Directions were accurate, and owners responded to questions promptly. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful.

The most surreal site! Directions were perfect and easy to follow, the site was incredible! The view from the river was unreal and the sunrise, we’ve never seen anything like it! We were lucky to be the only campers on site. Would recommend and the access / site was perfect for our van!

Just had a long weekend at Cluny Lagoon. If you like bush settings, peace and tranquillity this is the place for you. About an hours drive North of Hobart and roughly 15 minutes outside Ouse. There's a flat camping area by the water, plenty of room for our 22ft Snowy. We will definitely be returning here.

Derek's place is stunningly beautiful, you are camping right on the river with plenty of flat space to perch. We have a rig that's the max size recommended for the site and it was a breeze to get in and out. The vista is stunning, peaceful and the site is so private and very well maintained, with clean tables and chairs and fire pits to use. The free firewood appreciated. Great communication and clear instructions. A very special place, thank you Derek.
