Conveniently located between Launceston and Devonport, Buckbill Banks Camping offers a beautiful, level camping area overlooking Quamby Brook Creek. The 35-acre property offers views of Quamby Bluff, and various options to explore and relax. Find yourself a nice quiet spot, where you can enjoy peace and quiet. Although we take several bookings at once, you are guaranteed a secluded nook, there is plenty of space. There is a wood fired hot tub beside the creek, which all campers have access to. Imagine star gazing from the hot tub of an evening, or enjoying a morning soak whilst keeping your eyes peeled for the resident platypus in their natural habitat! Firewood is provided for the hot tub, you may buy wood on site for your individual campfires. The hot Tub is not for wild parties, but to relax and view the native wild life, quietly watch the platypus in their natural environment. Please note, we accept one camper trailer/caravan per booking. If you are traveling in a group with multiple caravans, you will need to book multiple sites - but will still be able to camp close together although we dont allow big noisy, disruptive groups anymore! The property has good access for all types of vehicles.

Beautiful located right beside the Ringarooma River. Fish in the river, swim or just spot a platypus in the river. There is a kayak that you are welcome to use to have a paddle in the water. We have a 40ft shipping container now on site, this has books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. It also has jams, sauces and honey for sale. You can now find us and follow us on Facebook. Search Derby Frasers Flats. No Motorbikes to be used on site. No motorbikes to be used at this camp. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. By arrangement if time permits I can arrange for a cost of $20 per person a look at our dairy during milking.

This was the perfect end to my Tasmania trip, the private hot tub was so relaxing, & the addition of native essential oils from Bert the owner was amazing. Smelt delicious & no mosquito's! Lots of birdlife, & as it got dark the fairy lights came on & I was visited by wallabies, pottoroos & even a tiny tree frog! Highly highly recommend, will definitely be back next visit.

Duckbill Banks is set on a generous, flat, grassy meadow next to the creek. Sites are well separated and sheltered by trees. Bert set us up with a large shared wood fired hot tub with our one fellow guest on the first night after we'd all decided we were happy for a chat and with a smaller tub next to our site on the second night. It's a lovely way to spend the evening and watch the stars. We'd highly recommend Duckbill Banks as a lovely place to camp. Unfortunately the platypus' didn't make an appearance while we were there.

Nice flat spot on top of the hill. Sunset was beautiful! Tiana is great with comms and was lovely! Highly recommend. FYI - top spot before the opening (site 6) there is a wind break and fire pit set up.

What a special place Duckbill is to spend a night or two. We camped right on the creek, and had the place to ourselves. It was quiet and picturesque, clean and well appointed. The hot tub was divine, the perfect place for a glass of wine while watching the platypus after putting the kid to bed. We loved this stay,.and would recommend it to everyone.

This spot is AMAZING for a relaxing and secluded camp adventure. The creek side spots are spacious and campers were super respectful of space and very friendly. The hot tub is the BEST feature of this spot. The natural wood fire heated tub is exactly what we needed. We also had a blast searching for platypus and even heard some Tasmanian devils around the site! The hosts were also very accommodating and were quick to respond. They let us use their self contained fire and got us lots of fire starter to use! Lovely people and lovely spot 😄

What an amazing location !! Highly recommend this Hipcamp. We had an amazing stay here. Beautiful sunset , followed by an almost full moon. So many beautiful birds and wildlife. And spectacular views . We will be back . Tiana is a friendly approachable host. Camp sites are very well maintained.

Our first time using hipcamp after a failed camping trip to our normal spot. These grounds where magic, a wicked view with a great sunset to watch. Nice open grassy area with ample room for the kids to play with out annoying other. The owners where friendly and inviting. We will be back agian

Tiana’s place makes a great base to explore the local area - Lilydale - Scottsdale , Bridport and beyond. There are good level gravel sites (1-6) with amazing views and sunset . Other grassy sites available further along the hill . Site 6 was by the communal fire pit and plenty of room for any camper / caravan. The sites are a bit close together but this wasn’t a problem on our visit as there were only two other campers at the time. Access is easy and Tiana was very responsive and helpful when we had questions.
