Located just a 20 minute drive from the Hobart CBD, this beautiful 0.67 hectare coastal bush property is set in a little valley right by Kingston Beach, Browns River and Tyndall Beach. It's just a short 5 minute stroll down the road to the beach, or up the road to the start of the Alum Cliffs Track.
Activities you can enjoy here include birdwatching, bushwalking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing, bike riding, dog walking.
You'll be staying in a fairly new comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom tucked under my house. There's a double bed made up with fresh linen. You'll enjoy hot showers, a flushing toilet and almost complete privacy. There's mains water. With prior notice, you could use the washing machine inside the house and hang your clothes on the clothes line strung between trees.
Parking for two cars and/or caravan/campervan is easy. A circular driveway surrounds the house with a driveway extension.
I hope to build an outside kitchen at the nearby shed, but for now campers need to be self-contained for their cooking and washing up, or else take the short walk to Kingston Beach and the excellent cafes and restaurants there. Food scraps need to go in a compost bin on site.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a fire when conditions allow it. Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (I'd rather you didn't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath for a small charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon.
Wildlife is abundant and includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots.
You are welcome to bring your small dog, but please ensure it's under control at all times. Wildlife are at risk if your dog is a hunter and roams free. Tyndall Beach (the Kingston dog beach) down the road is where your furry friends can have a run. Walk them to the beach on a lead and let them off there. I have an older Jack Russell who is afraid of big dogs, sorry.
I think this is the perfect place to experience a little bush luxury before beginning or ending your Tassie adventures.

Our site (we have 1 site only) is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart.
The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes.

There's an armchair, a cosy wood stove, and a single bed. Microwave, tea and coffee. Filtered rainwater. Bedding provided.
I'm a respectable distance away but your privacy is as important to you as it is to me.
Park on-site and you have a private entrance.
There are two silly labradors who may visit you outside so you do need to be a dog person. If not.. sorry the yurt is not for you.

Our site (we have 1 site only) is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart.
The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes.

Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat.
The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs.
The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. The COTU Yurt is basic and rustic glamping. It's cosy, has minimal facilities but you can boil a kettle and microwave a meal or cook outside on a camping stove (home cooked meals $20 booked in advance) Main bathroom facilities in my house twice daily at a time arranged but there's a caravan type loo in the yurt. There's an armchair, a cosy wood stove, and a single bed. Microwave, tea and coffee. Filtered rainwater. Bedding provided.
I'm a respectable distance away but your privacy is as important to you as it is to me.
Park on-site and you have a private entrance.
There are two silly labradors who may visit you outside so you do need to be a dog person. If not.. sorry the yurt is not for you.

The camping area borders a beautiful stream - we ate breakfast at the picnic table next to it. Another camper told us they had seen platypus in that stream! The Mount Field National Park entrance is right across from Reception - you could walk from your campsite up to Russell Falls. Vicky has added amenities like fire pits and a shelter with BBQ's. The toilets and showers were clean and spacious. There is even a small kitchenette and laundry. Vicky was nice and accommodating when we came a bit later than expected. A lovely place to camp!

Lovely quiet and private. The hut is a nice bonus, as is the deck. I have mixed feelings because for the price, I would have liked a toilet. There is no dump point nearby which limits how long we could stay. The resident Bandicoot was nice to see. If you sit quietly outside it will come close. Perfect for a long weekend when you don't need to wash cloths. The limited tank water made me not want to wash cloths.

Located a block back from Pipe Clay Lagoon, in Allan and Lyn’s front yard. Gorgeous little humpy with indoor and outdoor seated area and deck. Tank water (limited) which seems to be the case for Clifton Beach. Seems a long way from anywhere but a quick drive in to Hobart. Serenaded by birdsong.

A lovely property and exceptional hosts. Ease of parking and the amenities including a lovely bumpy with hot running water, fridge and outside shower to wash the beach sand off, was high on our tick list. The area is amazing and lots to see and do. The bird life and nearby beaches offer endless things to see and do.
We would highly recommend Lyn and Allan’s property as a go to place for caravaners.

We thought the campsite was brilliant. We loved the tranquility and that it was remote, despite not being far away from New Norfolk. Great to see the local wildlife too. All the facilities are excellent and were very clean. Steve and Alannah were super friendly. The recycling facilities were very good and the composting toilets were great (no bad smells!)

This was an excellent campground! The camp kitchen had everything you need - dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, and even some staple items like oils and spices. The bathrooms were very clean. The place is in a great setting in the mountains with lots of wildlife around (pademelons, wallabies, possums, rabbits). You have to drive about 10km down a dirt road to get to it, but it is worth it! There is no phone service, but the wifi in the kitchen works really well. This was probably the best campground I stayed in in my two weeks in Tasmania.
