The camping site is located in a beautiful location overlooking the lavender fields, in bloom december/january, with the ever-changing Mt Roland in the background. On days with cold southerly winds, alternative campingsites are available on the farm. Please contact us to find out. Includes use flushing toilet, hot shower and laundry (external access). Approx. 300m from the campsite. We are pet friendly. We've got room for up to 5 separate bookings. Due to shortage of personnel, we can no longer offer the farm tours. Check in after 9am you get a whole day BEFORE you camp for the night and check out by 3pm this way you get another day here and plenty of daylight to get to your next place This place has river flats surrounded by wilderness and is the first private property on the river, so therefor the LAST property at the end of the road before the road goes into Forestry tracks. Many would consider this place to be very remote.....to us it is close to the City only 50 minutes away over the Mountain gravel roads. If you want to travel on mostly sealed roads go through Fingal and PAST Mathinna. Check maps before you leave as NO reception out here. It is 40 acres and we have MANY MANY free roaming animals, milking goats, ducks, chickens, cows, 3 BIG dogs. (The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay. EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want. The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like. This Rustic country house is also available for hire/rent, there is hot water via a woodfire (takes up to 5 hours to heat up water $50 per wheelbarrow load of wood) with Big triangle bath and a shower for use if you book the house, (3 single beds and a few new double bed air mattresses are available for your less rugged campers who want to come but need that extra comfort or to be close to a toilet at $40 per person per night.) You are welcome to come camping anytime with a range of needs catered to. Sorry no wheelchair ramps, a single step into the house and one step into the toilet too. Pick whatever spot you like to camp upon, by the river, the rocky island in the river, in the bush, just on the paddock grass anywhere. The big house is for you to use the toilet, kitchen sink and feel free to have a cold shower if you want. You can wander on the property connect with us and if you like you can help feed the animals. We are very happy to host people who love nature and enjoy organic farm life. There is NO wifi or mobile phone reception ZERO, so you can finally enjoy total tranquility. (there is a landline telephone in the big house so you can make a call if you need to, it is a private number)

We loved camping here, we were also the only people so had the whole place to ourselves! The spot has gorgeous views of farms all around it and it was very easy to find (only 30 mins from Launceston). Would definitely camp here again, thanks so having us.

Weekend Trip to Badger's View Farmstay

We only booked last minute but Diana made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. She was kind enough to accomodate an early check in, so that we could make a nearby wedding on time. We didn’t get much time to ‘hang out’ at the property but it was obvious that there was a lot of care taken in making sure all guests have a memorable and lovely stay. We had a lovely chat to Diana on the way out and it was great to hear about all of the nearby mountain bike tracks and how they started the cabins (she even let me feed the cows)! I would highly recommend.

Besides google maps doing us dirty and sending us through forestry roads (go towards Mathinna not memory road) - this stay was great! Charly and her dogs greeted us on entry and she directed us towards a peaceful little patch down by the river. In the morning, we got to eat our brekky with the view of the cows grazing and mountains in the horizon. Highly recommend for a rural farm stay. Thanks Charly!

Why you shouldn’t camp at Happy Healthy Valley… 1. The cows will want to share your breakfast (and campsite) 2. There aren’t designated and freshly mowed camping spots…you may even have to move a cow paddy or two. 3. You’ll have to build your own fire pit, sourcing rocks and sticks from around you. 4. The riverbed is strewn with massive trees washed down with floods. 5. There are so many rocks that your kids will insist n making all the #TasRocks and taking home kilos of “pretty stones”. 6. Google maps will take you on adventures to uncrossable bridges on roads you know cars haven’t been for quite some time. 7. There is no mobile coverage or wifi access. So why should you stay at happy valley?… 1. see the above 7 dot points.

This was our favourite campsite close to Barrington Lakes. The view was phenomenal. If we didn't have to recharge and dump our tanks every few days, we would have set up permanently, but I have no issue recharging when you get the stunning view without the crowds.

i absolutely loved the campsite. The field had a beautiful vista of farmland with a spectacular mountain backdrop. As the mist cleared in the morning the mountain appeared. The bathroom was a walk through an array of ordered shrubs and trees. It was clean, and generously offered apples and eggs for free. Marlene and her dog were very welcoming. Highly recommend!!
