The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

This place has river flats surrounded by wilderness and is the first private property on the river, so therefor the LAST property at the end of the road before the road goes into Forestry tracks. Many would consider this place to be very remote.....to us it is close to the City only 50 minutes away over the Mountain gravel roads. If you want to travel on mostly sealed roads go through Fingal and PAST Mathinna. Check maps before you leave as NO reception out here.
It is 40 acres and we have MANY MANY free roaming animals, milking goats, ducks, chickens, cows, 3 BIG dogs. (The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay.
EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want.
The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like.
This Rustic country house is also available for hire/rent, there is hot water via a woodfire (takes up to 5 hours to heat up water $50 per wheelbarrow load of wood) with Big triangle bath and a shower for use if you book the house, (3 single beds and a few new double bed air mattresses are available for your less rugged campers who want to come but need that extra comfort or to be close to a toilet at $40 per person per night.) You are welcome to come camping anytime with a range of needs catered to. Sorry no wheelchair ramps, a single step into the house and one step into the toilet too.
Pick whatever spot you like to camp upon, by the river, the rocky island in the river, in the bush, just on the paddock grass anywhere. The big house is for you to use the toilet, kitchen sink and feel free to have a cold shower if you want. You can wander on the property connect with us and if you like you can help feed the animals. We are very happy to host people who love nature and enjoy organic farm life. There is NO wifi or mobile phone reception ZERO, so you can finally enjoy total tranquility.

Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature.
When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road).
The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

Check in after 9am you get a whole day BEFORE you camp for the night and check out by 3pm this way you get another day here and plenty of daylight to get to your next place
This place has river flats surrounded by wilderness and is the first private property on the river, so therefor the LAST property at the end of the road before the road goes into Forestry tracks. Many would consider this place to be very remote.....to us it is close to the City only 50 minutes away over the Mountain gravel roads. If you want to travel on mostly sealed roads go through Fingal and PAST Mathinna. Check maps before you leave as NO reception out here.
It is 40 acres and we have MANY MANY free roaming animals, milking goats, ducks, chickens, cows, 3 BIG dogs. (The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay.
EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want.
The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like.
This Rustic country house is also available for hire/rent, there is hot water via a woodfire (takes up to 5 hours to heat up water $50 per wheelbarrow load of wood) with Big triangle bath and a shower for use if you book the house, (3 single beds and a few new double bed air mattresses are available for your less rugged campers who want to come but need that extra comfort or to be close to a toilet at $40 per person per night.) You are welcome to come camping anytime with a range of needs catered to. Sorry no wheelchair ramps, a single step into the house and one step into the toilet too.
Pick whatever spot you like to camp upon, by the river, the rocky island in the river, in the bush, just on the paddock grass anywhere. The big house is for you to use the toilet, kitchen sink and feel free to have a cold shower if you want. You can wander on the property connect with us and if you like you can help feed the animals. We are very happy to host people who love nature and enjoy organic farm life. There is NO wifi or mobile phone reception ZERO, so you can finally enjoy total tranquility.

Really lovely Hipcamp with mountain and forest views. A short walk into the village and bonus access to an onsite toilet.
The camping area was reasonably flat and grassy with perimeter fencing.
Very quiet and peaceful location and plenty of space to manoeuvre a caravan. Would definitely recommend.

For $30 this place was fine. Bit of a walk to get to the toilet and a few obstacles and hazards so make sure you check the way to the toilet before dark and also have a torch if going in the night. Bring toilet paper as only one roll was supplied and there were 5 groups of campers. Didnt want to call or ring the bell at 6am to wake the host for more, lucky we had our own. There are also a lot of pet geese which are right at the fence so quite noisy.
Overall though, for $30 it was ok for the night.

We tent camped for a night. Location was good with a nice outlook. There are some good flat areas at the bottom of the camping area but the top section looked to be on quite a slope.
Uphill walk to toilet was not too far and toilet was clean. With only one toilet being available it could be a bit of a wait if the camp ground is full. We didn't have a problem with that as we were only sharing with about 4 other groups.

Host was very approachable, and made check in simple.
I needed a couple of days to get offline and back to basics. This was ideal. No internet access at the campsite .. but close by on the property if needed.
Dog friendly .. which was much appreciated as my dog has cancer and our days of adventuring are numbered

The Farm Cradle Country had beautiful views over the fields towards the hills.
The caravan site had lovely mowed green grass and was nice and level.
There was a communal fire pit to enjoy with supplied firewood.
When we stayed we had the place to ourselves which was awesome.

This spot has it all - location, solitude, views and sunsets. An easy drive from Devonport, with Sheffield nearby for food, coffee and water, the 3 days we spent at the Farm were the perfect beginning to our Tasmanian holiday. So much to see in the area, with Cradle mountain the highlight. A pre-dinner walk through Shae and Steve’s block was also beautiful. Thankyou!

A good simple place to camp, safe for kids and dogs. There is only one area at the end of the paddock where the river is easily accessed but this was not an issue for us. Kids had a good time fishing, swimming, playing cricket and riding bikes. No phone reception. We will camp here again

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 solo nights in the Little Paddock with my dog. Two other young families were also camping in the paddock, but there was plenty of space between us all and plenty of space for children to play and be kids without disturbing each other.
The Paddock is grassy, fenced, and lovely and flat, flanked by bush, river and a quiet dirt road. There is access to the river via the 'beach' near the bridge which is great for a swim, fish or kayak. Lots of bird life, awoke to a family of Kookaburras singing on the first morning which was cool.
Phone reception is poor, but I was able to send/receive text sms to let my partner know I'd got to my camp etc, which was nice. Other than that, you're camping, so switch off!
Plenty of nice shady spots to lull the afternoon away with a book. No firewood, so bring your own. Sam kindly sent me a note when I made the booking to register my little fire with TFS, given it is end of summer and you're in the bush. It was easy to register this 3 days ahead of my stay.
Highly recommend to other solo, couple, dog parents and families.

We absolutely loved our stay and were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves. Sites were not level but manageable. View was amazing looking out at the Franklyn rivulet. Close to Yorktown and Narawntapu National Park for day trip. Great communication from Sarah, highly recommend for a quiet relaxing stay.
