Pindari Park is a beautiful 130 acre CLIFF TOP property that offers both North and South views of the River Murray. Situated on the western bank (cliff side) overlooking the most Northerly point of the river and the township of Cadell SA. Our property does have a rocky underlay, due to the cliff, recommended that drill tent pegs are used. ALL CAMPERS ARE TO BRING THEIR OWN FIREWOOD, NO COLLECTION OF FIREWOOD ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. Pindari means “From the high ground” from the aboriginal origin and was originally apart of the Nor’ West Bend Station (est. 1850) that stretched from Overland Corner to Burra. The Nor’ West Bend Station next door is now a heritage listed private residence. With Pindari Park’s scattered native trees, saltbush and mallee shrubs bringing an abundance of wildlife to the property, sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity. While you sit at the camps sites, enjoy watching the Cadell Ferry, appreciate birds and wildlife, or just enjoy the river boats on their journey up or down our mighty River Murray. You just might be able to catch one of the cruise boats or paddle steamers cruise past, make sure you give them a wave as they pass by. Pindari Park has many gravel roads and tracks to follow for taking a hike/walk, however, please note that this property is on a cliff, therefore it may not be suitable for young children and caution must be taken at all times. Each campsite has a fire pit area that can be used during May to October each year (fire ban period is November to April each year). ALL CAMPERS ARE TO BRING THEIR OWN FIREWOOD, NO COLLECTION OF FIREWOOD ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. Take a drive into to Morgan (9 kms) and visit the Old Wharf Port and the Landseers Museum or catch the Cadell Ferry and head across the river to visit the Spook Hill Winery or to use the local boat ramp. Notes: - Cliff-top property, may not be suitable for young children. The Riverland is an amazing place to visit, full of so many surprises! The variety in the landscape, from harsh limestone plains to beautiful rolling sandhills, to the beauty of the Murry River. There is so much wildlife to see especially when it comes to bird watching! And the area is full of history! In every town you will discover many historical facts and buildings, machines etc. We even have histroy right here on our property!-ruins of an old school. Oh, do I hear you love taking your horse out for trail rides? Well, here's the perfect place for that too! At the campsite - approx 2km away from the farmhouse - you have the privilege of being surrounded by natural scrublands and habitats on the plains. See our mallee, acacias, sugar woods, grevilleas, honeyeaters, wrens, finches, kangaroos, emus & more. And don't forget the stars!! Our night sky is amazing due to very low light interference. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away. We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay! Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! We may be moving sheep, shearing, crutching, fencing, feeding the farm animals, milking our house goats etc. Even come for a horse ride (further info in 'Extras")!
