I had a very nice stay. The owner was kind and helpful—a true gentleman. I didn’t have a power source to pump up my air mattress, but since he lived nearby, he kindly helped me get access to electricity. His dog was also friendly and well-behaved. The place itself is peaceful and quiet, with a lovely setup for a campfire and a convenient table that came in handy. Overall, a great experience!

We had a wonderful camping experience at Scrub Campsite in Inman Valley! Marc was super friendly and went out of his way to help us, even letting us use his home power to inflate our mattress and offering a rope to secure it. The campsite itself was peaceful and surrounded by nature, we woke up to bird songs and watched cows grazing nearby. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to The Scrub Campsite - Inman Valley

My partner & I, along with our son, & grandchildren had a fantastic time camping at the Scrub Campground. We stayed at Site 1, which was the most secluded, with tons of space for our tents, gazebo & cars. Fire pits, tables & chairs are also included at each site. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, we watched many Superb Fairy Wrens hop in & out of our campsite. Our grandchildren, as did the adults, absolutely loved all the activities/ amenities Mark supplied near the central, rustic camp kitchen: BBQ's, sink, shower (use your own gas bottle to heat water), composting toilet, basketball ring, soccer ball & net, football, mini golf, totem tennis, swings, cricket, go-carts, bikes, scooters, playing cards, Upwords, Guess Who, and books. We had so much fun together in this peaceful setting. We will most definitely be coming back! Thank you Mark & beautiful Molly for welcoming us on arrival & for making your campground a fun place to stay. We really appreciated all the added extras!!! See you at our next visit. Lovely location, big sites with table, chairs and fire pits. Amazing location to run or ride the Heysen Trail and surrounds. Drop toilet and general site was kept very clean and tidy. Take a gas bottle to hook up to the shower system if you want a warm one!

Weekend Trip to Cooinda Retreats - RV and Camp Stay

We booked Cooinda Retreats as there was nothing else available in Victor Harbor, and I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed on site 2A, which was enclosed and felt private, with beautiful views out to the ocean — a lovely bonus. We’re not usually fans of portable toilets and showers, but they did the job. The container in the shower kept everything dry, which was a thoughtful touch. However, the light in the shower didn’t work, and the toilet seemed to run out of water — a bit of an issue when it comes to avoiding splashback. Interestingly, we seemed to be one of the few using the portable amenities, as most people wandered off to use the main ablution block attached to the retreat. While the curators encourage guests to raise any concerns, I didn’t bother this time, as they hadn’t responded to me previously via the Hipcamp app. Overall though, it was a pleasant stay — simple but all we needed for a one-night stopover.

It’s a small family friendly campsite nicely nestled in a valley. Climbing up Brownhill is quite hard. However, the view awaiting you is the real breathtaker.

While our stay here was only for one night, it was the perfect spot for us! Heading to Kangaroo Island we needed a place to stay the night before, we couldn’t have been happier! Moo’s distillery onsite serving pizzas and gin, a playground and farm animals for kids to interact with, toilets and hot showers we couldn’t ask for more!

The Scrub Campsite - Inman Valley

Inglewood is a 130-acre property currently running beef cattle and sheep. The property has 15 acres of remnant stringy bark scrub which abuts the Heysen Trail. This private campsite is contained within the scrub although campers have access to the whole property. There are 13 bespoke sites available. The owner has the right to assist campers when choosing their site. This is determined by factors such as type of accommodation, group size. access to toilet and communal areas, weather and privacy needs. Specific sites cannot be reserved unless by prior arrangement with the owner. We offer sites suitable for camper trailers, campervans, , rooftop tents, tents and swags and pop top caravans (sorry, no large caravans). During the non fire ban period all fires must be contained in the fire pits provided. Please bring firewood if you intend to have a campfire for an extended period or you may purchase wood for $15 for 20 kgs. All bookings will be cancelled if a severe or catastophic fire is forecast by the weather bureau. Campers can claim a refund from Hipcamp A communal camp kitchen, barbecue, rain water and tables available. A composting toilet is available as is a shower system. Colloquially known as God's Country the property is conveniently located 1hr 20 mins from Adelaide, 14 mins from Victor Harbor, and 20 mins from Pt Elliot, Middleton, Waitpinga and Parson's beach, Hindmarsh Falls and Normanville. Other nearby localities are Deep Creek National Park, Newland Conservation Park, Springmount National Park, Granite Island and the Kangaroo Island ferry. The popular Belicious Belgium Cafe is a 60 min walk or 5 minute drive from the campsite. Walkers on the Heysen trail can access the campsite 100 metres away. (Keen Road entrance) Please note that the campsite has a no noise/music policy after 10pm. Noisy campers has been my biggest complaint so please respect others and adhere to the policy. Children must be supervised at all times. Please note that a fenced off dam is located near the campsite and is out of bounds to all children unless supervised by an adult. Rubbish must be removed by all campers as no bins are available. The whole campsite can be hired exclusively for large groups - contact me direct for booking details and costs. A wood package can be purchased for $50 the communal fire circle. The Scrub Campsite was honored to have won 1st place for best campsite in South Australia for 2024. The 212 acreage includes a walk in only area of over 15.5 hectares of protected heritage scrub.
