Cooinda Retreats - RV and Camp Stay

9 sites · RVs, Tents2 acres · Victor Harbor, SA
PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS TO ENSURE A GREAT EXPERIENCE. Cooinda Retreats is pleased to offer our newest addition to nature based camping. Cooinda Retreats RV and Campground Stays provides an exclusive nature based immersive alternative to big park stays. Cooinda Retreats is a 100% Not for Profit organisation. Our Stays park, as with our Group Accommodation is our only source of funding to provide valuable services to disadvantaged and marginalised groups of our community. When you stay at Cooinda Retreats, you get a great experience and know you are supporting many worthwhile community programs. Please remember we are a Hipcamp bushland stays site, not a caravan park. Hipcamp provide very helpful Hipcamper information on their website if you want to understand the difference. Our sites are not massive, we know that, but they are really well cared for, and we offer a spectacular overall environment and level of service. The views are gorgeous. Please read individual site details, as not all are appropriate for big caravan rigs and massive towing vehicles. Situated at the foothills of stunning Victor Harbor, on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Cooinda Retreats RV Park and Campground comprises 10 dedicated sites, all with a unique aspect of bushland and ocean views. Cooinda Retreats is a multipurpose site, with group accommodation and RV/Camp Stays. There will be times that both services are in place, it makes the site uniquely wonderful. Please keep this in mind. You will need to be predominantly self contained, with new portable showers and toilets conveniently located throughout the park for those requiring as a back up. Best to bring your own toilet paper, as these facilities are an added bonus in a self contained stays environment, although we do maintain them to a clean standard.☺️ The Council of Victor Harbor provide a Dump Point approx 3 Kms from our stays park. Site 1 is both electric and dog fence friendly. Its a premium site. All other sites are Non Powered, all have potable water supplies available. You will need to take your rubbish away with you as we don't provide a rubbish service. Spacious lawned areas designated to your group are provided and your support in maintaining this is appreciated, as we don't allow floor mats on established lawn areas. Each site is specific to size requirements of your RV and camping outfit, please take note of the sizes in site details as not all sites are suitable for large vans, some are suitable for campers and tents only. Please check the details before booking. If you have a big van (20 foot or more, please only consider sites 1, 2b, 6, 8 and 9. If you book others be prepared for a bit of fun in the set up process. We offer an extensive Camp Kitchen, which will be shared amongst all guests. This truly is Victor Harbor's best kept secret. While only a few minutes from the township, you will feel the beauty of nature and the serenity of ocean views. Maintaining a balance of nature and activity means that we have a no noise policy after 10:30pm. Naturally we love reviews. We do however ask that you consider all of the above detail and that we are a 100% genuine Not for Profit Charity before smashing out something negative. Particularly something we have already mentioned above anyway. We find a simple private message can generally solve issues. We also have a resident Caretaker couple that take great pride in the park and will assist if appropriate. To summarise: - Our sites are different sizes and not all appropriate for big vans, please check the individual details. - Our sites are not open bush blocks, they are designated sizes, with plenty of open space areas. -We are a multipurpose site, we have a group accommodation service adjacent to the Stays Park. Sometimes they make some noise, but they also abide by the same curfew rules. Its really lovely to know that (predominantly children) are outside in nature for a bit. We think that is pretty special! - Our demountable toilets and showers are awesome, they are 100% a bonus as we ask our guest to be self contained where possible. Bring some loo paper just in case the person before you used in all up. - Water (potable) is available on all sites. - Please take all rubbish with you, its a condition of booking. - There are bugs and ants around us, its a bushland setting. We suggest you bring some stuff to manage this. -We have CCTV cameras discretely situated across our entire site, they are there to keep us all safe. We cant wait to see you, this is really something special!

Piney Ridge Estate

7 sites · RVs, Tents90 acres · Woodside, SA
Enjoy the serenity of waking up on our 100-acre farm in the Adelaide Hills. Piney Estate is a beautiful base camp from which to explore the Adelaide Hills, but you'll be just as inclined to relax on the property and enjoy peaceful country time. The location is ideal, being just 5mins from Nairne village (which has a great Foodland, butcher and bottle shop). Plus there are plenty of foodie and wine options to discover in the region. We offer different options, some sites have water and power (and access to the pool) and others are more remote, fully self-sufficient spots. Many sites have a campfire space (not available during the summer fire ban months). Pets are welcome off-leash, so long as they remain under control and do not disturb the farm animals, keep them on leash if you aren't sure how they will behave around sheep and cattle. Also note we have a dog here, and 3 cats, and other guests may have pets, so make sure your dog is dog-friendly, or else keep them leashed at all times.

Caravan camping as well as cabins in South Australia with electricity hookup and water hookup guide

Overview

One of Australia’s most compact states, South Australia offers outback adventures and wildlife safaris within easy reach of Adelaide. Head south to spot sunbathing wild kangaroos, enjoy lazy afternoons wine tasting and oyster sampling, and hike through red-sand deserts, forested gorges, and rocky mountains. Temperate weather makes SA a year-round destination for camping and outdoor activities, but it’s busiest during the balmy summer months. Cruise over to Kangaroo Island in springtime to see the cutest wildlife encounters, admire wine country in a canopy of fall leaves, or take a winter whale-watching cruise along the coast.

Adelaide

Adelaide is South Australia’s laid-back state capital, where parklands unfurl along the River Torrens, bars and restaurants sit riverfront, and arts festivals draw crowds year-round. Once you tire of the city, hop over to nearby Kangaroo Island, go for a beachside getaway along the Fleurieu Peninsula, or plan wine tasting in the vineyards.

Wine Country

The green hills around Adelaide house some of Australia’s finest wine regions. From the Barossa Valley, with its stone cottages and patchwork vineyards, to the leafy peaks of the Adelaide Hills—there are some sweet spots to sip Sshiraz or taste cabernets. Many camping sites offer direct access to the natural landscapes, whether strolling the beaches of McLaren Vale or cycling between cellar door wine tastings in the Eden Valley.

Northern Outback

North of Adelaide, the hills give way to the dusty red sands and remote bushlands of the Australian outback. Flinders Range National Park is the headliner, the dramatic finish line of the 1,200-kilometre Heysen Trail and home to the peaks of Wilpena Pound. Further north, the opal mining towns of Coober Pedy and William Creek offer a look at outback life, while Lake Eyre National Park’s pink lakes feature lakeside camping sites like no other.

Eyre Peninsula

Stretching west from Adelaide and the Yorke Peninsula, Eyre unfolds in a panorama of gold-dust sands, rocky shores, and deserted dunes. Coastal camping spots have the best views, and the sheltered waters of Coffin Bay, Venus Bay, and Streaky Bay are famous for their oysters.

Kangaroo Island

Bushlands, sand dunes, and wave-ravaged coastlines await on Kangaroo Island. Explore off-piste in a 4WD, spot wild kangaroos and koalas in the nature reserves, or walk the beach to watch fur seals and little penguins, then head back to camp for a campfire barbecue. Adventurous campers will find a number of bush camping grounds, while holiday parks provide a little more luxury.
